You have a really engrossing way of delivering your lectures. Well done and thanks, too, for this one. More, more.

This was the single best description of how a mask works that I've ever seen. Thanks so much!

Dear friend, I have visited your channel today; though I did learn quite a lot from this video, I feel you could bring out another version related to editing with layers, a version that includes the upgraded features in Pixelmator Pro that has adjustment layers as in Affinity Photo. I would love to see such a video in which you in which basics of masking is taught to newbies.
    Regards and take care
    Dr. Somanna
After posting the above, I started reading the comments and found out that you have already made a video about adjustment layers in PMP. I will watch it. 😄. It will be helpful if you could revise your description above and include the link to the updated video, and, if you have the time, include the recent version as your end screen of the present video.
PS I am really embarrassed to write this: I have visited the updated version and realised that I had already watched it yesterday and even posted a comment. How silly of me, yet, with me watching several video tutorials on this subject, you could tolerate my confused state of mind
    😃

Thanks for the helpful suggestions Dr. Im glad you have found the content. Shamefully I also may have forgotten what I had done as this was a while back. Hope to make more videos on Pixelmator Pro basics for new users like yourself😊

When you have finished do you have a merger the layers to save it or export it.

You did something at exactly 6:15 that changed things, but it isn't clear what it was. Your layers section suddenly looked different and the selection tool was no longer highlighted. What was it that you did? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but I'm trying to understand working with layers and I need to know every detail, every keyboard entry or mouse click. Thanks.

Yes I removed the mask to make it clearer to make one from scratch. Basically the steps are (1) select the area (2) right click the layer then "add mask" after that the mask will be added in as shown
