Hi - thanks for listening! Just to help clarify, Capcom only asked me to not use distorted guitar in particular during the verses. Clean/acoustic was okay. The chorus sections were totally okay to rip into. The reason was to show Vergil's dichotomy of "cool/unbothered/slow" attitude vs his "aggressive/fast/violent" attacks. I kind of broke this mantra a bit by distorting the hell out of a synth bass for the verses, but oh well. The guitars were all real people; Me. 🙃

I don't really know if you will see this, but thank you for deliver to us Bury the Light, i really can feel your passion for the character and i started to like and play DMC because of your song, it ending becoming my favorite song of all time, helping me through hard situations. Bury the Light sounds like one of these songs... A bit difficult to explain, but sometimes you get this inspiration that just doesn't end, and a feeling of "yeah, I'm going to finish this, and I'm going to make it a masterpiece."
And that's exactly what you created. Wonderful job.
The reason bury the light sounds doom-like is because the composer, casey edwards was actually inspired by mick gordon. And the bit about capcom not wanting guitar is true. They apparently didnt want any guitar because guitar was dante's defining instrument.

I think Casey said in an interview that the solo was the only place he was allowed to use a real guitar. I could be wrong and I'm thinking about an interview with Mic Gordon about Doom, but I feel like I'm remembering right.

For context, if Bury the light was the only song to ever exist I would not be made about it.
