There are so many games that have music created just for them, just look at Nier or Xenosaga.
The japanese especially go bonkers in regards to creating music for their games.
Even something that basically started out as something like an indie game like the Touhou series has its own music (which you should give a listin to).
Each character has their own theme when they fight in game. This plays whenever you fight other than the themes devoted to specific bosses. Also Dante was the original main character for the series but as of DMC 4 the spotlight is moving more to Nero. Mostly cause Dante is so OP at this point that it's insane.

The song is Nero's battle theme. It plays in all your fights, and it has transitions based on how well you fight. Funny note, the reviewers for PC Gamer called the music not particularly good because they were never good enough to get an S ranking, which is where the chorus comes in

When you are playing the game the song changes depending on your style rank. The better you're fighting, the more hype it gets

This is awesome, but you seriously need to check out Vergil's theme (Bury the Light). It is a masterpiece! BTW, this is Nero's theme. Dante has one, V has one, and Vergil's theme (daddy Vergil LOL)!

Nier: Automata has an amazing sound track. They had this idea of making the songs in a made up language, taking random words from a bunch of languages and you not being able to understand the lyrics yet still understand the song through the feeling the music gives you. I really liked: a beautiful song & amusement park.
Amazing music! I get goosebumps hearing Weight of the World.
They're not totally the same, but if you like this song, you should also check out some soundtracks from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. That whole OST is wall-to-wall metal and heavy electronic music. It's rad as hell.

Well, just like almost everyone else here, I have to recommend DMC5's "Bury the Light". By far the best theme in the franchise and one of the best themes I've heard in a game OST.
You have to respect the balls it takes to make a song like this, mixing so many different vibes together and people liking it. It was a gamble and it worked.
3:51 DMC5 actually has three main characters: Dante, Nero and V. This is the song that plays when you fight as Nero
To clarify on the OST thing, you play as Nero throughout part of DMC5 and the better you do in a fight the more intense the music gets.
Also, they full 3D scanned peoples faces to model the characters after which is why they're so detailed.
Love the EDM/Rock feel of this, immediately went on my playlist. Use to live in Minneapolis, there were clubs pumping out this type of music, it's great
These themes fit the characters so well it's insane. Nero's about the hype, Dantes all about the fun and creativity, Vs very calm and structured and Vergil is dark and a bit scary.
I cannot describe to you how good it felt seeing the reveal for DMC 5 back in 2018 after YEARS of waiting and hearing this *banger* in the background
Even now its easily one of the best tracks in an action game PERIOD
PS:
Each of the MC's has their own battle theme that plays and the song progresses with the in-game style meter. Meaning the better you do, the more *epic* the track gets.
Imagine pulling off a sick combo and just hearing *ALL OF THESE VOICES INSIDE MY HEAAAD!* in the background
Dante's theme "Subhuman" is definitely worth checking out. Very different to Vergil and Nero's themes
V's theme "Crimson Cloud" is also pretty great
You should check out Rivers in the Desert from Persona 5
i am pretty sure its the producer's wife doing the vocals for this track too if im not mistaken, which makes it even better

DMC4 is tied with 3 as my favorite of the series. But the music in 5 hits harder than all the other imo. Like everyone has said, Bury the Light is a definite listen if you liked this.

The battle themes for the playable characters are special since they are adaptive to your play style
The better you play and the more style you show off the higher the game qualifies you with letters from D to SSS
The higher your style rank gets the more you can really hear from their battle themes, with the lirycs blastting louder when you get to Smokin' Sexy Style

also there are battle themes for the 3 main characters in DMC5 and they were made to play during most enemy encounters grading up with your style rating

Another game that's literally about listening to sound and music is called The World Ends with You. Definitely check that one out
I would say check out Answers and Dragonsong from Final Fantasy 14, pretty much all of the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance OST and Bury the Light from DMC 5. Some of my absolute favourite game OSTs.
You should totally react to the Kakegurui Anime Openings & Show, not sure how much you would like the openings but I honestly think you would and the show is crazy, the animation makes your skin crawl and the sound production, from ripping nails to gunshots the show is amazing in every way!!! 💯

Bury the light is great as alot of people have said and Metal gear rising: revengage has also one of the best soundtrack I have ever heard in gaming. Hope you have a chance to listen to that too. :)
Like many others are suggesting, definitely check out "Bury The Light" which is Vergil's theme. Some other games with awesome soundtracks though are Final Fantasy 14 (The award winning MMO, Soken is a musical god) and the Nier series.

So, there is that fighting game, Guilty Gear. Latest one is Guilty Gear Strive, the community has a running joke of getting a music album and a free game with it. You might want to try this out! A lot of different rock influences and... Stuff.

Since you are listening to gaming Music, you should try listening to one of the most iconic boss themes ever made “One Winged Angel”. It’s a timeless masterpiece and it’s remake version “one winged angel rebirth” is one of if not the Best Music pieces i have ever heard

Welcome to the club ig lol .. when DMC5 first released and played it for the first time I couldn’t stop stopping listening to DMC5 soundtrack ALL THE TIME, like literally all the time. But then the special edition and DLC released and we got Bury the Light it ended for me ig lol it’s been more than a year -not sure- and I still can’t get through a week without listening to it lmao

Speaking about games OST, i defenetly could recomend you to check out Guilty Gear Strive soundtracks. And it's really hard to tell wich one, because every character in the game(there is 21 by the moment) has own fully vocaled theme. And every single one of them is great peace of music! Probably, "Smell of the Game" is the best to begin with, since it's the main theme.
It's really cool that you can hear electric guitar in this track, even though this instrument isn't used at all. Its all synthesizers!
I hope "Bury the Light" will be next.
I'm sure its been mentioned already but I can't be bothered to go through all the comments, since you've played DMC4 you know the ranking system during battle based on your performance. Each character's "battle theme" like this one plays during any normal group of enemies. The music is dynamic, changing to different parts of the song as you climb higher in rank, reaching the climax of the song as you hit S rank and above, so the better you play, the better the music that plays in the background.

I really think if you haven't already check out the songs from Guilty Gear Xrd and Strive, the songs being Heavy Day and Smell of the Game. Two crazy songs. And perhaps Doom versions of songs like DMC and other games.

Music like this existed before... Not sure if there was a specific genre name... Might just come under EDM or something... It is more on the rocky side than normal EDM, but I dunno... Most importantly, it's just a fun song though lol.
If you want another interesting genre mashup and haven't heard it yet, I recommend checking out a song called "Ignite" from the animated show RWBY. The song is by Jeff Williams, with his daughter Casey on vocals and featuring Lamar Hall. It's so much fun and musically interesting too... I think so anyway... The show has a great selection of music.
