I love your videos, coming across them by chance. As I watched, though, there was just one thing that kept eating at me.
I would be remiss not mentioning that you really ought to research the harmful, long-term adverse effects, especially on your childrens hormones and gut, and to their development from using plastics (and aluminum).
I wouldn't even store my laundry soap in plastic, especially putting hot water into, especially for that long, or especially wrap bread with it, or even put products, I put on my or my childrens bodies, that have been stored in plastic.
Plastic breaks down and leach chemicals differently, depending on the number that's in each of those triangles. Even putting product onto your body, those plastic particles and the chemicals make their way into lymph nodes all over your body, spreading throughout your lymphatic system, and eventually into your CNS and organs...and into your gut.
Having worked in many different industries...I'll just say that companies research and pinch on what's cheapest, not necessarily what's healthiest, because they know that most consumers only think about the waste. 🤔
I'm really not trying to be facetious.
Those numbers make a huge difference to your health, especially to children's development.
I can sleep in peace now.

I'm curious for those of us trying to avoid products with aluminum (I avoid it in food, body, and cooking products), how is it safe to put your body products in an aluminum case?

Wow "Project Mockingbird" I'm so impressed that you're aware of such things. But you are right, us baby boomers were programed and I keep saying that you young people will save the world. Women were brainwashed to go out and work and leave the children to others to help raise. That was one of the biggest regrets I ever made. Be grateful that you are home with your children. I know it's not easy but I think you are dong an awesome job at it. Many Blessings!!

They should be, it's what we had to survive on from the beginning of time
It's the way the animals are treated before and during slaughter that I believe is the reason that their are "trends" and I'm all for it if you are really concerned about the animals. If you have animals you raise and use for food it's easy to say that you live on a meat diet because you likely don't treat them the way they are treated in big industries and even some companies, you don't get to see what goes on beyond what their marketing tells you which is all the information they give you on packaging unless you do your own research

I am a 47 year old mother of seven.... every single one was a tummy sleeper... They slept so much better. (And... we never had a flat headed baby!) Also, I gave them cows milk from day one, and had them eating food from the table with us completely by the age of six months.... Mashed up albeit... but they were able to eat what we ate. We started with mashed bananas at about four to six weeks old and gradually started working food in... including honey. Not one of my children have allergies! Maybe I should have been called a rebel as well!! That interview was really good.

For starters im so glad I accidentally stumbled on your videos. [Sourdough one] but I love the videos I have already watched. I was blessed to have 4 of my own children. Homeschool and homestead life. It's expensive but totally worth it. The bible tells us to "come out of her my people" im glad my family (& many others) are waking up to the rat race for lack of better words.

I feel like I could sit on the front porch for hours and just talk to you! My husband and I thankfully just started our own financial business to help people. We are both home with our kids all the time. No more trading time for a tiny income. The American dream is to have freedom. Now we trade very little time for our large income while building a passive income through business ownership.

Re food preservation: I remember in one of Amy Tan’s novels, an older Chinese woman who grew up in China during the Japanese occupation recalls the women of her family making what they called “thousand year old eggs”, an ancient way of preserving eggs, and burying them at night in a secret location on their farm, knowing the hardship that’s going to come. Later on, when there is no food and starvation going on all around them, those eggs literally save their lives. You are correct that these skills really must be passed on.

I'm new-ish to canning, may I ask you a question regarding the failed jar...What do you do with it? Do you use the contents right away, or do you discard it? I'm a dtr of a babyboomer who canned and was a rebel in her own right, but sadly passed away in 2023. She taught me the basics of how to can, but I don't ever remember my mom having a jar fail! HELP! 😊

I am a baby boomer. The end stages of one’s life is generally there last year may be a little less may be a little more. I am 64 years old, I will be 65 in the beginning of November. I do not believe that you meant anything offensive by your comment, but I was taken back. I have lost several family members in a short period of time. Half of them were younger than me. I will tell you that my grandmother lived through the depression. And my mother had the skills that my grandmother learned. When I was growing up, we burned our garbage, what we couldn’t burn. My dad had to drive it to the dump. There was a lot of livestock in peoples Homesteads. Very large gardens, even though we were building a suburb. We had a gravel road until I was in high school. Our road was paved in 1977 when I was a senior and that is also the year I graduated high school. All our meals were home cooked and being one of the older of 12 children, I had to do a lot of cooking. Our meals were from scratch for the most part. We did mostly have store-bought bread and a few things like that. But in the 1980s I was even shocked to see my mother buying all this process stuff. That’s one I think there was the really big push for processed foods. And look at the mess all these processed foods have made. We all need to take a step back in time as you are.

    Question:
Would you make a video talking about health insurance and what you do with your family?
I recently got off of my parent's coverage. I am an overall healthy woman and rarely get sick or need to go to the doctor. I work in the medical field and think that health insurance is a financial scam, and I honestly do not want to pay for coverage when I most likely would never reach my deductible. Of course, I understand people have it for those, "what if" situations. I'm just curious of any thoughts or recommendations on this topic.
Thank you for making such great content! I love watching, learning, and being inspired because this is the type of lifestyle I want for myself and my future family.

I’ve recently found that hospitals sell your organs when you have a c-section. Do you know how true this is? What did you do with your placenta after you had your free birth? Love your videos and learning from a fellow mother ❤

Girl, how do you stay somewhat clean and organized? We are about to have our first baby and I'm trying to prep things so my husband can take the reigns once I'm in postpartum. Laundry has never been something we could get "down." We have several laundry bags, he uses some, and I use the others. They always end up thrown in a corner, overflowing. He's in the medical field, so his scrubs must be washed separately. And we have no rhyme or reason for when we do laundry. It's a mess.
