The friction list is such an insightful reminder…. Downsized this year and still declutterring and the fraction list will become my mantra to the sorting that remains..thank you. Also greta tip I learned as we down size…adult kids saying things like oh but you can’t get rid of that …I am finding asking the question in return to them…. Oh ok so you would like to take it? We get Very interesting responses…one of which is oh but I don’t have space to put it ….. and we have begun to acknowledge that we are downsizing and not only do we no longer have use for this as its now only two people or actually we never really liked it in the first place just inherited it and kind of had to keep it (which by the way now that I am older and wiser…is total bull..we don’t have to keep something we inherited just because we inherited it!) any way…back to the adult kids comments when letting things go…we also learned asking outright- do you want it? Can come with a heck no I don’t but yet the comment is that we can’t get rid of it because it holds a memory!!! and then comes - well if you don’t have the space, and we don’t space…what do you suggest… you can remind adult kids if they really want it they can put it in storage but not you….its not unkind, it’s a reality and it’s a proper letting go and encourages rally choosing not only what you want to keep and let go of, but the adult children also learn to do this and sometimes discover on the way that chatting and sharing the memories contained in the piece of furniture are actually much nicer and more powerful when shared and reawakened in our heart than the actual piece - I hope this both helps another and makes sense, and let the friction list tacking in less stressful ways commence xxxx thank you again for your sharing
I love the friction list. Those jobs that are screaming for attention. Giving it a time to be done is helpful. It will lessen the noise and the stress. Thank you from Canada.
Lovely to see/hear an (other) Irish minimalist, Lana. I started decluttering before a house move 5 years ago and kept going with it. I am so content now.... Everything is so easy to maintain. Congrats on your lovely house and family. G Wex Ire
Hi Josh! You looked very handsome in your outfit. When my son was little like you, he used to love to change outfits too! I’m from the U.S., but I have visited Ireland twice. It is one of my favorite places in the world! ❤🇮🇪
Wow. So homesick looking at those fields. Loved this.
Thank you so much : ) The Irish countryside is a beautiful place for sure. Hope you get to go/visit home soon.
