I am honestly flattered that I found this channel. You are real!! I respect your raw honestly in everything that you are accomplishing. Motherhood is hard work. Let alone homesteading and keeping it real! This channel is unique on it's own. You are not trying to perfect your daily tasks. Life has enough challenges. Thank you for being real with yours. You are showing the truth behind homesteading. It's dirty, messy, and never ending. If we don't work. We don't eat. I'm watching this video and enjoying the simplicity through the entire post.....

You make everything that you do look so easy! Here’s a tip that you might find helpful. Years ago I had an organic garden. Someone told me a super easy way to grow potatoes that really works. Have a patch of dirt without weeds, lay your seed potatoes on top -DON’T DIG- cover them with at least foot deep of straw. As the potato vines grow you may need to add more straw, but I never did. The idea is to keep the sunlight from reaching the potatoes. The vines will grow through the straw and hold it in place. When the vines die simply roll back the dead vines and straw. Voilà! There are all of your big, beautiful, clean potatoes. No digging. No cut potatoes. It was so much fun, it was like Christmas morning. This does not work for sweet potatoes, only white potatoes.

Whenever I had an ear infection as a child, my mum put a clove of garlic cut up in a table spoon then added a little bit of olive oil and heated it up or rather let it boil on the fire, then let it cool off and dropped a few drops in my ear and the infection was gone. My mom used a lot of natural remedies like this one.

New subscriber! Glad I found your channel! My MIL taught me the garlic trick 20+ years ago when my oldest ones were little and although I thought I was pretty open to natural ways, I was scared to try it because I just thought it sounded weird to put raw garlic inside an ear lol. But when I finally tried it, it really did work! I've been on a journey of learning natural health since then. I'm now a certified holistic nutritionist, herbalist, and wellness coach!

I found your channel last night I’m trying to learn how to make sourdough bread ! I love your videos. So many people are taking charge of there families health now & going back to the old ways . We have a 30 year old daughter ,she has a 7 year old & we started over in our older age & have a 5 year old daughter with Down syndrome. She stopped talking after her 2 year vaccines!! After researching & working myself in health care for many years i realize the corruption around it all . She has no longer been vaccinated. I homeschool her & take a total holistic approach & she’s so smart & healthy compared to the other kids we know with DS. I’m learning to garden, prep, & hopefully I’ll learn more from you & how to make sourdough bread ! Thanks for your videos .

It is crazy that they don't teach that, but they don't. I know a lot of doctors and nurses and not only were they not taught those things, but they also only spent about one week of school on nutrition and it was just an overview. Yet nutrition is the basis of all health.

I grew up in Northern Virginia - My mother and grandmother always used pickles or relish (dill) , and mustard in their potato salad. That's how I learned to make it, and still do today. I also use bacon in mine, too. Your recipe is very similar to mine. I totally agree with you about making your own mayonnaise - SO much better!

Hi there! New sub from suggestions and fellow creator. I'm also a nurse of 20 years and grew up homesteading. Yes, I agree, I would have done thing differently as well with the children. Maybe I can pass that onto my children of the knowledge we now have. Bless you! Nice to meet you
Eggs: tap the fat end til you hear the crack, you may not see it, and then boil as normal. That will allow the water in and in the cold bath afterwards, the membrane released and they'll peel perfectly Everytime. I used to rely on baking soda trick and it still didn't always work. The tap works ALWAYS! 😊
We use sweet pickles in our salads. We like sweet salad not dill. Even in the deviled eggs.

This, my kids are ever hardly prescribed antibiotics by their pediatricians I have 3 kids and only 1 has ever used them due to a pretty bad UTI that turned into a kidney infection, their pediatrician are not holistic but they are conservative on the overuse of medication and antibiotics, not all pediatricians push antibiotics and unnecessary medications.

Putting salt in the bath water and swimming in the sea/ocean is also good to prevent ORL complications.
After the bath, you must lay your head one side and then the other side and it will drain all the crap you have in your ORL system.

That's a good idea about the garlic. What we do for our ears, is use a homemade ear rinse. My husband has issues when he gets water in his ears, so every night after a shower, he puts a mixture that he made, 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 alcohol. He has a squirt bottle ( a bottle that Sriracha came in - of course we washed it out really, really good) he fills that with the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture and uses it every night, just tilts his head, puts a drop in, then tilt his head and dumps it out. Its sort of like a homemade swimmers ears concoction :) BUT I've noticed that even when I get the first signs of any kind of sinus infection or head cold, I wash my ears out with it and it seems to nip it in the bud. For an ear ache , I would use this mixture and then warm up some coconut oil and put it in and then a cotton ball. Momma use to use sweet oil when I when young, but coconut oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal and antimicrobial. Hope this is helpful. I really enjoy your channel.

Chiropractor was the trick for my littles with ear infections! Just a couple adjustments is all it took 🙌🏻

I LOVE RELISH IN POTATO SALAD-sadly my husband doesn’t like pickles Or basically green food🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤪

My daughter had tubes at1 1/2 years and after that when here ear hurt we used a bow dryer or heating pad on low , always putting Hands on the blow dryer or heating pad to make sure not to hot , on ear to dry moisture and sometimes dymatap to dry the moisture . But didn’t know that about garlic so I’m sure it works for everyone, the garlic. 😊

I found a trick that seems to work every time for boiled eggs .. take a tablespoon and tap gently on the far end of the egg as you are rotating in your hand .. You will definitely hear after several light taps a sound as if it is cracked .. you are done . That releases the inner lining from the shell .. I thought it was bogus but so far it has worked every time I cook boiled eggs

Wow, I never knew about garlic & earaches!!
->If your eggs are at least 5 days old, boiling & peeling are much easier. (I love using my Instapot, shell fall off!
5 mins pressure, 5 mins self depressive & 5 min in ice cold water. Easy Peasy.

PTL! Thank you so much much for the advice! ( my nine month old he’s constantly pulling on his ears and he recently went to his pediatrician) . I’m not even really sure why I stopped on your video other than the fact that I am trying to downsize and in the process of building our home stead. But anyways I’d be interested in more of your home remedies and etc. I’m going to try the garlic tonight. And Again, thank you for sharing.

Oooh i love garlic. We take fermented honey garlic all fall and winter, even my littles eat it. Tastes like sweet and sour sauce. Not nearly as hot as traditional raw garlic. So good for you!
Also a great tip for pasta, potato even rice dishes, rub a cut clove of garlic around your bowl before adding hot food, adds great flavor with no chunks, and then you can still chop it up for another use if desired!!

I am so happy I found your channel, new subscriber here. I was a medical assistant and my children also had a lot of ear infections. I agree that antibiotics don't really work, and I totally agree with all the great benefits of garlic. Thank you, and please continue making these great videos 😊

If anyone is uncomfortable with putting the garlic in the ear, squeezed garlic juice and onion juice through a dropper in the ear is great for infections, too. Same reason.

We sound very similar! I rarely use a recipe, and when I do, I often tweak it or do what I think sounds better lol! We have six kiddos and have never done anything in the arm… not a single antibiotic for any of them in 12 years of parenting. I think there are several factors, but a big one being the arm things… your potatoes look great! Nothing like fresh garden baby potatoes ❤

Have you tried castor oil in a dropper. It works instantly. Like 2 drops. Chronic ear ache. Since child hood. Great grandma ☺️

Well thank you for explaining why both my brother and I *constantly* had severe ear infections growing up! I now have an issue with my eustachian tube to where it’s always open and so my ear drum is constantly moving. I can hear myself breathing. My kids don’t go to the dr’s, so never got the you know what’s, and my son has only ever had 1 ear infection. He’s 11. My daughter has had 0 and she’s 5. They’re rarely sick. We all came down with what I like to call the 2019 flu, and my son was bedridden with a fever for….1 day. My daughter was icky for a few days. My husband and I had it bad for 2 weeks and I had long…flu symptoms all the way up to a year after. We all fell sick the exact same day.

Oh my goodness. My daughter had chronic ear infections, rsv, pneumonia her 1st year. So much so that it delayed her gross motor skills and speech. WOW I had NO IDEA the things in arms has that as a side effect. Since she was about 3, I have learned so much- now she is 16 and very rarely ever gets sick now.
