@colassalcoconutttt most of the time, I do. It just depends on the intersection and how busy it is. Running reds when you're brakeless is a refined art that takes practice and quick thinking.
It's not a Gt Pulse. If you look closely, the bike has a reinforcement near the head tube area which Pulse's do not have. The bike is actually a Broakland Pipe Bomb, look it up.
@colassalcoconutttt Yeah. There are a few different techniques for skid stopping which are all useful for different situations. Again, it just takes some practice.
I was honestly waiting for him to eat shit the entire time. Might be my skateboarding mindset. No way in hell you could ever reach those speeds on a board. It's so terrifying.
@suprakilzz26 well the question is without the fixed gear would it be hipster? Or without the skinny jeans would it be hipster? What defines hipster in this segment? I donno, its kinda interesting if you think about it If a "hipster" started doing the things you love, would you feel offended? I can't lie, I get offended. But then again if you love it, it will still be there when the "hipster" leaves..... So why waste the breath? I donno, late night trippin haha
and if he wore baggy jeans, or boot cuts they would be in his chainring and he would be chucked off the bike, I think you will find that the hipster trend came from practicality so he is an original, hipsters just ruined it
I wanna look like you guys look wen you guys ride because you guys are all the way like in the front do you have to put your seat all the way infront and does the hight of your seat post matter if it does can you tell me how high it needs to be,and also does it depend on the kind of stem you have, and what kind of ratio do you have if anyone can answer me thanks
@CindyCakes04 Just hit up republic or something like that. It's a cheap starter bike that you can customize and upgrade as you see fit. My first fixie was from republic and I have since replaced everything but the frame and converted it to a freestyle bike since I just finished up my new track bike.
Yeah, these days I would hate on him looking like that but when this video was made he was cool, you didn't see hipsters all over looking like this like today.
Im a fixxie noob I wanna start soon :) but i wanna know how he can freewheel sometime but be completly fixxie other times ? Does he had a flip-flop wheel ? and also should i get a feont or rear brake (one only)
*Please answer * me and many of my friends have stripped the cogs thread by skidding like this. and yes i did tighten it before i tried this and very well... the cog would just come right off and its a bummer.. luckily i bought a b43 and the cog has not moved at all but is there any way that i could be sure that it wont happen to any of my upcoming wheels? im scared of messing up the threads.. ive heard that you can actually weld the cog into the frame.. any advice so i could be sure? thanks!
@mrnicekevin when he stops peddling, he's skidding not not freewheeling. and a front brake will do fine... rear brakes are kinda pointless when you can lock up if you need to. happy peddling :)
@Rap you gotta put your body weight all the way in the front and with your legs start pedaling backwards, works best if your going at a moderate speed, Yim is hard
@birthplaguedie88 yeah I know but you know how it looks like they have there seat all the way infront I just wanna know what do I do so I could look how they look wen they ride they're all the way infront that's how I wanna look wen I ride does anyone know what to do,and do you know what ratio does have,
I guess I just don't get the whole fixie thing. To an extent I do. If you're a bike messenger, and maintenance on drivetrain & brakes is a pain on a daily basis - or if your a velodrome racer - or if you're a eccentric purist and look to embody clean lines with no cables, then I get it. But I don't get the "bad-ass" fixie (just for the sake of being fixie) thing. It's an antiquated machine. It's like saying, "Yeah, I can masturbate with my feet", when we all know it's better with your hands.
@apazzle97 first of all its a fixed gear bike, not fixed wheel. and you should check out bikesdirect . com if your just starting out, look for brands like windsor, motobcane for starting, then if you wanna upgrade start looking at other sites like citygrounds.
I like how people have given up on helmets and are now targeting breaks. Fuck it do whatever you want, breaks,no breaks, helm no helm, fixed, track. Fuck it your cycling and thats great.
cannondale track with the golden rims - my heart is beating fast!
1.- watch this
2.- go outside and try do any trick
3.- be in the hospital without legs
I've ordered that song on Ebay yesterday. I love that song.
I love how he rides tiny frames with the seat cranked waayyy up.
2024 looking back and enjoying this video.
Tweaking out the back wheel when skidding creates a lot more friction so the bike slows down more. Not to mention it looks awesome haha.
man this never gets old
Im from reading windbreaker... Cool ride.
2020 people start buying fixed gear again.
i've seen this so many times...
2:28 ahhww The first wheel looks like STOP!!! beautiful!! :D
W. Bendegúz good
favorite macaframa vid
At 2:30 when he skids then pedals backwards beast legs! Dope video
Actually that’s quite easy, you just need to position your leg at the right angle and push backward as strong as you can.
do it dude, it is so much fun riding on a single gear.
Great way to start the Film :)
@colassalcoconutttt most of the time, I do. It just depends on the intersection and how busy it is. Running reds when you're brakeless is a refined art that takes practice and quick thinking.
my favorite rider in maca
wonder what gear ratio he rides
It's not a Gt Pulse. If you look closely, the bike has a reinforcement near the head tube area which Pulse's do not have. The bike is actually a Broakland Pipe Bomb, look it up.
i would like to see u do those up hills
Hmm ,broakland
unfortunately I'm not somewhere in America,..(
feel like forever alone
Thanks for info =)
The stunting was awesome,I love seeing that...only thing is if I tried,I'd be in the hospital for 6 months!! :)
@980primo the song is send me a postcard by shocking blue
I have a 2 speed commuter hybrid. These vids really make me want a fixie or thin road tires..sigh
My bad I've never seen a frame like this other than a gt it's sick
@colassalcoconutttt Yeah. There are a few different techniques for skid stopping which are all useful for different situations. Again, it just takes some practice.
anyone know what all these guys are up to now?
Just looked this guy up on instagram, looks like hes a photographer these days.
He’s actually a manager at Benie Gold, dope dude, still around the bay, don’t think he rides anymore tho
I didn't know until later that Keo Curry died.
KEEP ON DROPPING THAT SHIT HARD ....AWESOME STYLE.....YEY YA'LL...
@ExplorerPost20 The black one he reverse skids with is yeah, but the blue ones a pin trispoke
What's his ratio I'm so damn intrigued! Anyone?
@gdsoabicfaw well I live in the netherlands.. I think when you ride in NYC its more dangerous than in Amsterdam..
I was honestly waiting for him to eat shit the entire time. Might be my skateboarding mindset. No way in hell you could ever reach those speeds on a board. It's so terrifying.
Actually it's the GT GTO track frame from the 90's. Or at least a custom meant to mimic it.
In the beginning he is a riding a GT GTB fixed gear.
my first time ever riding a fixie was in frisco not the smartest thing i have done n i didnt really know how to brake but i survived ..
@suprakilzz26 well the question is without the fixed gear would it be hipster? Or without the skinny jeans would it be hipster? What defines hipster in this segment? I donno, its kinda interesting if you think about it

One of those bikes he's riding has to be a C'Dale Track for sure
my inspiration !
Nothing beats the adrenaline of riding fixed gear. Specially in San Francisco. Bombing hills all the time. SF, Bay Area, Macaframa
i'm glad to see people riding bikes.. fuss it who cares if its fixed or not..
I wanna look like you guys look wen you guys ride because you guys are all the way like in the front do you have to put your seat all the way infront and does the hight of your seat post matter if it does can you tell me how high it needs to be,and also does it depend on the kind of stem you have, and what kind of ratio do you have if anyone can answer me thanks
i love his bike set up at 0:30! tri and aero

1:07 nice over the bar skid to fakie:) Nice wipe skid on 2:07.
Yeah, these days I would hate on him looking like that but when this video was made he was cool, you didn't see hipsters all over looking like this like today.
Im a fixxie noob
I wanna start soon :) but i wanna know how he can freewheel sometime but be completly fixxie other times ? Does he had a flip-flop wheel ? and also should i get a feont or rear brake (one only)
@enjoistik I was wondering that too, they have a guy on a moped follow him around.
gotta love that skid from 2:07 - 2:09
ever seen people loop their chain around saddle to prevent theft?
BIG UP FOR HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WONDERFUL
@xriceboii Where I live bikers don't have to stop at stop signs, just red lights.
Sugino Zen
*Please answer * me and many of my friends have stripped the cogs thread by skidding like this. and yes i did tighten it before i tried this and very well...

what do fixie riders do if the light is red? do they just ride right through?
Damn your so skinn and tall. Nice clip dude!
Does it matter if the stem is threading it threadless
@fixiecaptain Hes talking about Pabst Blue Ribbon my friend
@TrackBikeFool- im pretty sure its a GT Gutterball :P
@shesmyrushmoree What was your front wheel on the pipe bomb in the beginning?
@introsp3citveone what kind of track bike do you have man? bike check?
what are the light blue wheels calles
It's a gt pulse look it up
@introsp3citveone oh, alright. if you did happen to need to stop, do you just skid to a stop ?
@mrnicekevin when he stops peddling, he's skidding not not freewheeling.
and a front brake will do fine... rear brakes are kinda pointless when you can lock up if you need to.
happy peddling :)
How many bikes does this guy have?!
why do guys flick out the back wheel when they are braking?
anyone know around what speed he gets going?
@Murder4Life666 Do you know how much just the FRAME is?
Hell yeah, it never gets below 70 or snows, There isn't 50,000 homicidal taxi drivers and jaywalkers, or insane hills. I rode there, complete candy.
@Rap you gotta put your body weight all the way in the front and with your legs start pedaling backwards, works best if your going at a moderate speed, Yim is hard
Conozco ese cuadro! son de sudamerica
sick tri-spoke
@birthplaguedie88 yeah I know but you know how it looks like they have there seat all the way infront I just wanna know what do I do so I could look how they look wen they ride they're all the way infront that's how I wanna look wen I ride does anyone know what to do,and do you know what ratio does have,

@cxbra
yes dudee, what kind of hub and lockring are you using?
@walatalalaw Basically. I skate without a helmet but I ain't riding a bike without a helmet. There're no cars in a skatepark lol.
i think it's a broakland pipebomb
what fron tim is that whith thre spokes ?
trust me some parts cars don't care you'll get hit some hills there are tight turns its pretty much a battle zone over here.
what kind of frame he had in the beginning of the video....
Do you know what ratio he's riding?
@Tonystah94
well at some points they are, like for me theyve never stoped me or bitched about me not having brakes
nice bikes. whats the song?
Oh GOD ! , The true life begin at 'The Show' !?
I like how people have given up on helmets and are now targeting breaks. Fuck it do whatever you want, breaks,no breaks, helm no helm, fixed, track. Fuck it your cycling and thats great.
@maur0r10 Do you have a lock-ring for the cog?? I have never had any cog problems..
does anybody know what brand the black frame is?
@DubtownFixedGear YES TRUE FIXED GEAR RIDER RITE HERE!
Probably something from GT because of the triple triangle.
Do me a favor, community of bikes.
What're those bars at 0:45?
They don't look like Nitto RB-021's.
man i want ur ride doesnt that trispoke heavy or is it carbon ?
@chumbscrubber42
yegh, but AZ is the birthplace of this great site-
drunkcyclistcom
'bout the video- that was GREAT! that guy was flying!
the frame is a broakland pipebomb.
Just send him the postcard!
The best cyclists in the world wear helmets, therefore I always wear a helmet.
Any kind soul mind answering my question? What's the ratio he's running on?
I love how the two top comments are complete polar opposites.
I Like It Macaframa..... (Y)
