I just did mine today. Start to finish was 4.5 hours. If I did it again, I could do it in 3 hours. Tips: remove alternator, some say you don't have to but it helps angles plus I couldn't get the water pump out with it in place and even swiveling it. Completely removed it. Remove the plastic shroud underneath, three 10 mm bolts and about five clips (push pull tabs). Buy a magnetic 10mm socket. The bolts are all 10 mm for the pump. Consider removing the motor mount and jacking up the Motor. I'd try it next time because fighting the frame rail was a total nightmare. Buy denso brand only. It's twice the price but ten times the quality.
Thank you so much, my water pump blew in my college parking lot 3 hours ago and luckly this car is simple and my rachet set in the trunk could do this. Of course getting to a parts store is a different issue but this video was great
@hodgeez I think the aisin which is the company who made the part for toyota needs no gasket . The duralast and trq come with gaskets and tell you to use them . They used one in the TRQ video
@@CarsYouCanFix differents only 3,5mm at side but I don't know maybe its different build of wheel. One is full metal in center others with holes. I still search a my codes of 1.6vvti.
Realize you don't have to take the alternator off
True, but only 2 bolts and a connector and you have so much more room to work with! Come on Scotty!!
Scotty comment to your video. He’s a TH-cam legend. Been watching him for years!
Gotta take off the alternator for the thermostat that you might as well change while your doing the pump
@@EuroSpecMTL Yes while you are in there might as well do the water pump, thermostat, and replace the belt. Job complete :) Yeah
I asked my Mechanic if I had a bad water pump, & he said he couldn't tell .
Just press a small dowel to the housing & listen.

I am here with torque info , and thank you !
No problem! 👍
Couldn't you reach the pump from the bottom if you lifted the car?
I don't think so, the frame would probably be in the way.
From where you take info about how much torque going to each screw?
You can use something like ALLDATA to get torque specs.
Does all the 9th generation corrolla u listed have the same engine 1zz.fe ?
As far as I know the only Corollas that had a different engine was the Corolla XRS in 2005 and 2006, it had the 2ZZ-GE engine

So my 2007 water pump came with a O ring and a gasket. Can I just use the o ring only like in this video?
Yes, only use the O-ring.
@@CarsYouCanFix thanks bud! thats what i did. wasnt sure why it came with a gasket also

Whats going on with crankshaft belt wheel its 128mm and 135mm
I think there are 2 types of engine for this vehicle. This video covers the 1ZZ-FE engine.
