I'm SO SO glad they kept the decorative sliding doors. I'm with Christina on this one. That have that mid century charm. Beautiful home. At the front of the house, my first thought was to remove the doors and create an entry niche, complete with interesting wall and piece of furniture. My second thought was a feature wall similar to what she did. It's so fun to work around the bones and style of a house, which Christina doesn't always do. She nailed this one.
@@source5729 A lot of families still do that today. It’s what my own family and friends have done to honor our pets and keep them close to home and the place they loved and were loved in return. We’re even building a memorial garden for our sweet 18 year-old cat who passed a couple years ago. She was the most intelligent and loving animal I ever knew.
This episode aired prior to their divorce. But I gotta hand it to them for trying to get along for the sake of continuing the show after their marriage ended because selfishly, I didn't want their show to end!!!
The clear shower walls/door look beautiful clean and I assume at first people try keeping them spotless... But there are many people like me that don't want to shower in front of others. That's why there is privacy built into curtains and walls/doors. So while one is showering another may toilet or use sink/mirror. Dark tinted glass might look beautiful too.
Funny how the word "antique" has such a different meaning in different continents lol They use it to describe sth 30-50 years old. I use it to describe things 100-300 years old
The wood paneling covering the laundry cupboard at the entry hallway was a good idea. Looks nice and still functional. I am not a fan of seating areas in the front garden. I know they put up a privacy fence, but i predict it will never be used and is just wasted space
@@jeanetteshawredden5643 I would have continued the fence all the way to the end of the driveway and put in a gate. Then the driveway and front yard would be more private and useable, and kids could play on the driveway in safety. But then I'm the sort of person who likes total privacy and would live behind a castle wall if I could LOL
9:38 Why is there a mirror to the left of the vanity? Weird. Should have left the existing window frame, moved the toilet under the window and put the vanity where the toilet was/is. And the fact that they painted the paneling and the exterior brick = hard pass.
This is why I loathe flippers. They tear out original features and paint everything white, AND paint brick, which is bad for the longevity of the bricks!
Everytime a flipper paints brick I lose a little bit of my soul. Brick, all white, and this dude wanted to take out the decorative doors?! Those things probably sold this house for them lol
After all that work the staging is a major distraction, that dining room table is a big mess! Go back to you other staging company they kept things in balance
Wait? At 8:47, did the original wood floor get removed in favor of some fake boards? If so, the original floor is worth more than whatever you put down. It could have been sanded and refinished!
You offer lower than what you actually want to offer, so when the seller counter offers with a slightly higher price, it’s more in tune with the amount you actually wanted to offer. The game of sales
cancer ruins families like them .when you fight for life you forget everything is so important and delete all good or any member of yours .You hate God and everyone who has not cancer at all...Sor sorry for this lovely couple...it is just my thought
Cancer does make many good families fall apart. You are correct. I've seen it happen often. My dad passed from AML M5A (Leukemia) and it destroyed our family. 3 years later and many people are still not speaking. It has happened to others families we have known.
I don't like her design every house looks similar and boring,I like it more original kitchen it's so different now all the kitchen and houses generally look the same.
But they do it like this to attract more buyers, or? They don't do it for a special person! The original kitchen was really pretty, but I can understand that they always have to sink, what is selling best. And people want everything new and shiny.
@@brandnewheavie7548it is my opinion I would never buy a house like this the house I live it must be decorated with a lot of taste and look a like real home Cozy... which for no house with hers design is not like that.
With neutral gray- white colors, the buyer can add their favorite accent colors for a wow factor: red, bright yellow, turquoise blue, lime green, hot pink, black. That's what I would do.
@jeanetteshawredden5643 you're exactly right. I'm a former designer and that's why we use the neutral colors. Let clients pick their own pop of colors 😊
Christina's creative idea of turning the ugly doors into a design feature with wood and vertical strips of wood was nothing short of genius.
That was my second thought. My first thought was to remove the doors and create an entry niche with a cool piece of furniture in it.
I agree. It looks nice and still functional

If they ever dig up my backyard, they will find the bones of three generations of our family’s beloved pets. Historically, that is what was done.
Aww
Ditto on that
Yea, most suburban families did that in 60s & 70s
The previous owner of my home told me that over the 30 years she lived here, three of her dogs passed away, and were buried in the backyard.

When the nosy neighbours are the first to look at the open house😂 ‘oh look they've even done some landscaping back here’
🤣
I love the hidden wooden wall closet at the entrance. Very pretty to look at!....
This is definitely one of our favorite couples we love their shows forever.
Nice how WELL they got along. So much less stress and tention. Thank you

It's tension.
I adore those DOIRS too .So pretty but they don't even have to be used as doors but they r beautiful .
This was a difficult house to do their normal renovation in. It turned out great for what they had to work with!
That decorative hidden door idea is brilliant
Caroline... Am I right?
Lots of innovative changes made to accommodate what they had to work with. Well done! ✔ 👏
Beautiful renovation

They should have used the word vintage, to be honest :) Vintage is anything I believe 30-100 years old, and antique is older than 100

Depends where the sun rises & sets & the season. If the "front area" is shaded & cool in summer, i would sit there.

I’m so happy to see Tarek and Christina working together again!
@Digby Dooright figured the same.. Was wondering why she kept calling him "Babe"
If these are old episodes then makes sense
@@Stephanie-hj6hu Exactly. I wasn't sure until I heard the "babe" and suddenly, it was crystal clear which era this was, lol.

I agree about leaving the window. Vanity could have been on the wall to the left.
I would’ve turned that bathroom into a laundry room. That way they could keep the window.
If they could do renovations like they did with that hidden door. . it's going to be so much better

She did say babe! Yup must be old! That is too bad they make such good 💑
This has to be an older episode. He called her Babe, twice !!!!!
Love the doors!!
You dig up my aunt's and uncle backyard who knows how many dogs they have buried back there
8:52 😊awesome
Clicked on the video cause the bones, and the whole bone situation lasted 1.5 seconds… 🤦♀️

BBQ grill rear, never see one
Agreed, that staging ruined it for me.

Could they not have just moved the sink to the other wall 🤔
$$$ plumbing , sheetrock, layout
This has to be old because she calls him babe. That is not what she calls him now.
They tried to keep up the appearance of being a couple for some time after they split. It was creepy.
Where did she get that beautiful white blouse with the slits in the back?
Great changes make for a Lovely home!❤

If you go to 4:47 in this you see one of their other flips
Gorgeous
Wow
Poor Spot and Fifi! Hopefully they were reburied, cause uh, that's how you get ghosts
Not true. Your bones are left behind. You still have your spirit.
I hope the bones of the animal wasn't just dumped
Before I watch the video lemme make a guess and say the bones were dog bones?
Hate false eyelashes.
Same!!
I really hated the entry door in that one bathroom. Found it very creepy
why do all that work to remove the window to install a cheap window that doesn’t even fill the whole wall?
ew
Did she even lift one finger to help out? Or was she there for all to look at her.
She does the design and he does the actual flipping
I hate that kitchen layout. I would spend more time facing away from the the living/family room than toward it.

It's hard to believe you agree to pay so much for a property you plan on gutting. Of course I know you'll make money and create a beautiful property.
Is this a current video? I didn't know Christina & Tarek were back together? Very cool!
It's an old episode. They both have new sweethearts.
Very old because this house is probably worth double by now
I herd babe ??? Lol 😂 this must be an old video maybe 🤔
Maybe out of habit and she is divorced now.
Bones?
It's like a mob house. Yeech!

Build a fence around & paint white the only architecturally interesting original feature of the house??
