I love all the homes they remodel but I always wish they could donate more of the stuff they tear down ,like the cabinets r the vintage tile , habitat for humanity would love to get that stuff .I just hate watching wood and things like that get destroyed when I think it could be useful to other people that can't afford a very expensive home but still could have a nice one .
About half the stuff you're tearing out of this one would really fix my home up with no problem. I'm retired and can't afford to do the necessary repairs. But if I don't do them I'll have to move after living here 27 years.
I feel you on this one, Jean. It's a tragedy to see things that are reusable get thrown out. I'm past retirement myself, and through the years I've learned to repurpose, reuse, repaint, reupholster.. but that's not this new world. Everybody wants brand new. Personally, I wouldn't have a house if it were built past the 1920s. My taste. Besides, these two can't do anything but gray! It's very boring.
It's not even that though, they could re sell them even and make some money while not creating as much rubbish. Even lot's of their old wood that gets thrown away could be used.
They should Donate the Cupboards, Doors, Windows and whatever else that can be Reused to Habitat for Humanity. Perhaps the Trucks take them to where it gets sorted out? I hope you find the needed help to improve your Home! ❤

The waste kills me every damn time. So much reusable material, this show alone dumped into landfill creating so much pollution. So much could be unbuilt and recycled by others who prefer saving the planet over new materials, or mixing it and upcycling into furniture.
When I renovated my condo that came fully furnished, I took pictures of everything and put it on FB Marketplace and said FREE, everything was gone in 2 days, even the used cabinets and dishwasher. Win-Win
I think they always have extra money set aside, just in case, and how can they not notice, they need to replace the roof, when they see the roof is beat up and needs to be replaced.

People would pay good money for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, doors, mirrors, etc. And as you mentioned, lower waste in landfills.
