I miss the gobul. Honestly I miss swimming in MH. I know it wasn't the best but it was still damn good and it made the world of monster hunter that much bigger and added how many more monsters. Bring back swimming!
honestly I have mixed feelings about Gobul. I like its design and i hope one day we can fight a Gobul Adult (apparently they look completely different) on a large ship, like a water-based Jhen mohran but more damaging and more aggressive. But I absolutely hated underwater combat and fighting Gobul underwater was a chore. and i say this as someone who's favourite monster is a Plesioth, the hipchecking hyper beam king.
Wow. You're the first person I've ever seen who likes Plesioth! That's a good thing Actually. I'm glad you can enjoy something most other hunters hate :)
I noticed that its a bit of an unpopular opinion but i never really found it hard even though i didnt even use a quick weapon- i used a switch-axe... which actually made underwater hunting even worse... but i like it because of its design and its movement which is hillarious. Whats your favourite monster, btw? just curious.
I USED to hate him but tht was due to the control pad or something like tht to be able to move up and down in the water which made it annoying to hunt him and swim out of the way of his attacks. but ever since I got a New 3DS and the addition of a nub it made underwater combat MUCH more managable and I didnt hate him anymore. lol
The first time I hated him because I was undergeared but I really came to love him over time. I just love the design and I think that he was a lot less annoying to fight than many monsters with simular abilities like the Gypceros...
This Guy i mean yeah.. we fight the monsters in their home... it's not fair for the monsters either if we fight them on land... for me they are more fun challenging while fighting them underwater.. i want to fight them at the peak.. aquatic monsters without underwater battle it's not a great battle... just look at mhgen lagiacrus... soo weaaak
Derp Fish If anything, I want him to return in Wildspire waste. That would be cool, and no underwater combat needed, because he has deep enough/murky enough water to hide under.
I dont know they would have to redo its entire fighting style as it is utterly vulnerable on land. I kill it easily underwater, and quickly on land. It just seems to be one of those monsters who might be left collecting dust on the shelves like the great beard dragon Cedeus, or deep sea legi. They invested too much into these monsters, ecology and environment for a play style that isn't popular unfortunately.
But Gobul is one of my favorite monsters in the whole series :C His design is so cool and unique! He's like a mash-up of a flatfish, stingray, anglerfish, which is done perfectly. Oh, and his ecology video :D
All I can say is once I fought one and it kept with the detected but not in combat theme. The one as soon as it spots you, before it starts the locale theme. It was hiding the whole time. I mean, wtf.
gobul is fun... Until today me and my brother we play the arena in Tri, I'll always hunt Lagiacrus while my Brother Gobul, I do enjoy it and I like the monster. about next month, I've never hunted a Rajaang, so that's my vote, get to know him hehe
The arena gobul double quest was actually a lot of fun and one of the only harder quests where I got close to getting qualification time solo. For the most part though I really hated the arena because the monsters were on multiplayer difficulty and the equip you were given would just suck.
It´s not even that part of it that annoys me the most, at least it gets yu to try out new things(unless all sets are just awfull and the fight becomes a pain in the butt, for example the grudge match for stygian Zinogre in 4U has to be my least favourite monster hunter quest of all times) but rather that, no matter if you play solo or with a friend the monsters are always on multiplayer difficulty, they have a lot more hitpoints and also seem to deal more damage and unlike when you play a regular online quest solo you can´t have your cats or Shakalakas helping you out. So you are basically expected to fight a harder than normal monster with equipment that´s worse than normal in less time than you would usually need...
Darthplagueis13 oh I see your point; well, to me it's exactly the opposite haha that's what makes me love arena so much; I love to be challenged. It might not be that bad for me because I love a challenge and also I know how to play with all weapons... If I was a gunner only, I would hate the arena. The only monster that gives me a hard time with the description you said is Barioth... It's even funnier because he looks like my cat and my cat hates me haha so it's a grudge match... But over all; arena is one of the things I love the most in the 3rd Generation; especially the split screen multiplayer to hunt with my younger brothers
3:43 The first time I fought Gobul was when I was at my friend's house. He set me up and had me fight him. While underwater is pretty hard to fight him in, I found it kind of easy to attack him on land.
I know everyone's gonna go for Great Jaggi, but I would really want to see the Uragaan. I've heard so many opinions on that monster that it would be fun to hear yours. I personally don't have any problems with that monster but many ppl do.
I depends on when you fought him the first time. In Gen and 3 Ultimate he wasn´t that back but in TRI.. The only part of him where you didn´t bounce off with green sharpness were his heels, he was very fast and in TRI you didn´t have a target camera yet(which does make it a lot easier to avoid his roll). On top of that he did a lot of damage and was just very tanky..
why did you put germany lets player gameplay in to it? (i mean wenn you look at the names you see some times: GLP zombey and DebitorLP they are germany lets player)
He said in the beginning that he couldn´t use his own footage because he currently can´t play on his Wii U. Btw, if something is from germany it is german, germany itself is just the country(du hast im Endeffekt gefragt, warum er denn gameplay von Deutschland Let´s playern benutzt hat, anstatt von deutschen).
As someone else in 3rd gen that liked the water combat, I really like the gobul. I wasn't aware I could de-tail it until today though, because I usually fight it with a hammer. I do always make sure to pop off that little lamp to eliminate stuns, but it's still a challenging fight(especially with the cramped waterways which are perfect habitat for an ambush predator like gobul). Also I'm voting for Great Jaggi, mostly because it's my favorite early big monster.
There's a mod in world which replaces the Great Jagras with the Gobul. They are surprisingly similar like with the Great Jagras too having the ability to inflate it's body, but it still doesn't replace what a real Gobul could be. Now that I think about it, the Gobul fight could be really fun in world. The new claw could allow you to attack it's lantern very easily and since ranged weapons are more convenient now using them to avoid the Gobul's spikes and tail would also be an option.
I like the monster. As for the next monster of the month, I want to see you talk about the Gypceros, as most people hate it but you once said you like it on a livestream.
I am one of those who disliked underwater combat quite a lot but I did like Gobul, its ecology and moveset worked perfectly for what it was supposed to be. My favorite part about gobul though was its weapons, I found them to most of the time being really good paralysis weapons. My least favorite part tho was how tricky aiming attacks at the lantern could be, being that I used weapons with generally slow reach or attacks not covering a wide arc (like a poking cylinder for lance). So whenever I needed a lantern, I would be switching weapon even if I didn't wish to at the time to one that could land hits on the lantern.
now what if gobul had a subspecie that was bigger , lived in the ocean instead of the river and could use a new spin move using his tail witch now paralyzes AND gives thunderblight 2 , its back is also immune to mind's eye when inflated finally , it stays even more low to the ground
I personally enjoyed Gobul a lot in Tri, it was really challenging for the point when he first appears (MHTri was my first MH game ever, I was pretty much a wyvern punching bag at the time...) and I never had problems with underwater combat, I found it really cool being able to swim and fight on a game like this!
Omg ryan ur back and im back too!!, i was at school and didnt get to watch youtube for a while... And i dont think gobhul is hated i love him so much!!
What I would change if it somehow returned Add more breaking spots it’s back and whiskers Add a non puffing spin move underwater Eyes glow a bit more while hiding More land moves Elemental more land based subspecies
MH3 on wii was my first action game I played so I was about 7 years old. When I got that cutscene for gobul, I quit the mission instantly and, I’m not afraid to admit this, cried out of fear. It took me 1 week to muster up the courage to take on gobul and it was easy but I was so terrified of it for some reason.
Cody Caldwell I was like 9 when I first saw it(It was about a year and a half before the online servers closed, never forgetti) I was like "Where is he?" "Where'd that fish go?"
Another really good question: Why the hell is Plesioth’s hipcheck STILL so hated? I just find it stupid that some people still complain about it. His hipcheck was only a big problem in Gen1 and Gen2, but in Gen3 it was VERY MUCH improved and was not as broken anymore. It’s just like Diablos’, Monoblos’ and Basarios’ hipcheck now, and I don’t see anyone complaining about them now. However, what *IS* still a problem about him is his random massive fucking tail swipe that has hitboxes which cover THE ENTIRE MAP. This is the only thing about Plesioth that I can understand people complain about. But the only people who would still complain about his hipchecks are either noobs or feel biased about the topic just because they want to still make fun of his broken hipchecks from old gen. (Which tbh is also understandable. xD) But personally, his hipchecks are too easy to dodge at this point. You can easily dodge his hipcheck if you are under his legs, or roll through them, and he often actually MISSES his hipcheck even if you are standing still. (Happened to me a few times on G Rank)
I used to hate Gobul because Tri was my first game, and I was very unfamiliar with the mechanics of weapons and monsters, let alone underwater fights. It didn't help that I undervalued elemental damage and mainly used a Ludroth sword and shield. After some time (and Rath grinding online), the fight got much easier as I learned its patterns and weaknesses and got a more suitable weapon. Getting behind it was my favorite strategy, and helped against the suck attack because the light curves behind its head for several seconds for easy breaks.
I'm pretty 'eh' toward the Gobul. I used to hate it, but I think that had more to do with that save file being my first attempt at a MH game ever and not being very good at underwater combat as a result than anything else. I really like his design, though! And I can certainly see why you like it. Great video btw; Thanks for sharing!
I think my hate of the Gobul mostly stems from the Flooded Forest's cramped underwater areas and muddy color palette and the Gobul constantly rolling around in said cramped areas.
Gobul was fun, original and fairly easy. I don't understand how people can hate on him. At this point it pretty much means you can hate on royal ludroth or freaking rathian...
i remember my first fight against him. i was freakin terrified by it. until i defeated it. never fought it again afterwards. he was cool but fighting against him was a pain.
Many hate it because Gobul is not an epic monster that makes epic gear, it's an obstacle in the way. People just want to kill just one and get over with. Turns out that this is not an easy fight.
someone hates gobul? but he was my favorite low tier T.T also how is the whole fishing gobul thing unknown? that was LITTERLY the bonus mission for the first gobul hunt.
"is it its appearance?" - Yes.
"the way that it fights?" - Yes.
"is it purely because it is an underwater monster?" - Yes.
I miss the gobul. Honestly I miss swimming in MH. I know it wasn't the best but it was still damn good and it made the world of monster hunter that much bigger and added how many more monsters. Bring back swimming!
Fights in the water were more difficult
If they remade it, it would be so much better
It feels kinda terrible ngl, player feels gimped compared on land while monsters still being agile.
I hate gobul
Because he didn't come back in generations.
Capcom is like "NO UNDER WATER COMBAT FOR U ANYMORE!"
Mounting the beast while he ragin is goin to be a pain
Gobul looks so awesome and is fun people just hate
Swimming in the swamp
Gobul is cute.
Personally I like it... it's design is very different from other monsters and like you pointed out, if you know it, you can deal with its attacks.
blah blah blah it's different... Stupid reason to like a stupidly designed boss
I enjoyed it a lot. It was a very immersive hunt.
@@wallacesousuke1433 ok you can fuck right off. We have opinions and your just salty because not everyone hates the monster you don't like
I love Gobul! It fights well, it looks cool, and you get to fight it underwater!
It hurt me to hear him call paralysis and stun elements instead of statuses.
It hurt so bad...
I mean,we all end up calling them like that eventually
I love Gobul and want him back!
ButlerOfChaos
#bringbackunderwatercombat !
#bringbackunderwatergameplay !
BOTH OF YOU ARE MASOCHISTS
liam greaney I assume youre terrible in underwater combat
Jeffrey Jones No it just makes the fight so much longer.
ButlerOfChaos In world you can capture mini goblin as pets in the coral high lands.
there was no underwater combat in portable 3rd
or gobul for that matter
Hapurubokka was in 3rd, it is very similar, kind of a sand version of it. And yeah, no Underwater combat in any Portable games!
Well there is Underwater Combat in 3 Ultimate for the 3DS, which I would consider portable ^^
I actually like underwater fights. So satisfying when you master them.
I actually like the Gobul! How about the Great-Jaggi next?
I honestly found it easy fighting it on land instead of its water battle
Weak spot is lantern, one good hit always makes him flinch
honestly I have mixed feelings about Gobul. I like its design and i hope one day we can fight a Gobul Adult (apparently they look completely different) on a large ship, like a water-based Jhen mohran but more damaging and more aggressive. Chilled
My favorite monster is NargaCuga. Love it to death... literally...
Thats a good choice
JamFilledJarz Yup, the adult version lives at the very bottom of the ocean
I like gobul :(
I USED to hate him but tht was due to the control pad or something like tht to be able to move up and down in the water which made it annoying to hunt him and swim out of the way of his attacks. but ever since I got a New 3DS and the addition of a nub it made underwater combat MUCH more managable and I didnt hate him anymore. lol
Uraagan 😖 , I like Gobul ,
I cheesed him with Bnahabra bow (the lightning one), it was silly.
The first time I hated him because I was undergeared but I really came to love him over time. I just love the design and I think that he was a lot less annoying to fight than many monsters with simular abilities like the Gypceros...
Carlitos Jaeger me to :(
I miss underwater hunts. People are too soft. Not patient enough to swim through areas.
This Guy i mean yeah.. we fight the monsters in their home... it's not fair for the monsters either if we fight them on land... for me they are more fun challenging while fighting them underwater.. i want to fight them at the peak.. aquatic monsters without underwater battle it's not a great battle... just look at mhgen lagiacrus... soo weaaak

Fun fact. The Gobuls we have fought are very young. No one has seen the adult gobul.
@FinalHunter what is/are the others? Xenojiva?
@FinalHunter never heard of! Frontier monster I suppose? :)
I love Gobul. Everything about him, including the combat.
The exact opposite
I absolutely love gobul from the combat to the gear.
My favorite monster! Always loved Gobul, I find it very original and beautifully designed
All I can say is once I fought one and it kept with the detected but not in combat theme. The one as soon as it spots you, before it starts the locale theme. It was hiding the whole time. I mean, wtf.
1:28 correction, he will swing his tail from the right to the left when facing his back clearly shown in the gameplay
did ya ask for zombey's permission to use his vid ?
I don't think u need to ask as long as u give them credit and add to it
gobul is fun... Until today me and my brother we play the arena in Tri, I'll always hunt Lagiacrus while my Brother Gobul, I do enjoy it and I like the monster.

Darthplagueis13 I enjoyed arena a lot; but I do recognize that it might be annoying not being able to use your own equipment while using a random set.

I also like gobul

just want to know if you asked the youtubers if u can use theier clips? i was watching that video with zombey, glp and debitorLP XD
Bin och der einzige der sich frag warum bei 2:53 zombey glp und debitor steht
Being a full-time gunner, I have no problem with Gobul. It's a nice relaxing hunt for me after other, more tougher ones.
Gobul is fun, the one thing i do hate is the camera. It ruins underwater hunts which is a great idea
I know everyone's gonna go for Great Jaggi, but I would really want to see the Uragaan. I've heard so many opinions on that monster that it would be fun to hear yours. I personally don't have any problems with that monster but many ppl do.

do the Rajang next month!
Gobul is fun. I mean what fun would MonHun be if there weren't challenges?
i miss underwater combat
it was more fun than the whole mounting stuff and climbing
That's a claim
I wish they brought underwater combat to the new games. Underwater sea monsters in crisp graphics? Sign me up
i didnt mind water fights but with world it would be even better
gobul was actually one of my favorite monsters i loved his Armour set
no gobul in mh4u mhg mhxx
sad life reject monster
Can we get the Rajang next. Or as I call it, the RAGE-ANG
The Irish Elite Rajang is a great monster
As a gunner, I find Gobuls safest spot underwater is underneath it.
Just hug the ground, half its attacks wont touch you while you pierce away.
This is one of my favorites to face. Difficult and Challenging. Will always wonder if it was in Gen or Stories.
yo is it just me or does the gobul be lookin like a giant flattened spiky purple frog
I love Gobul, personally it's one the best monster design.
Do rajah plz ;-;
Also I love Gobuuuuuul, he looks derpy :3
Gobul is the flagship monster of the Flooded Forest. And a good one at that.
Gobul is such a unique monster, i really love it and its fight
New setup looks dope bro
why did you put germany lets player gameplay in to it? (i mean wenn you look at the names you see some times: GLP zombey and DebitorLP they are germany lets player)

thanks Ryan for this video I've been waiting since we talked about it when we were getting footage for your least favorite deviants video
That was a snazzy video. Liking the ceiling fan too 🙌
Why thank you. Im glad you noticed that ceiling fan (dab)
RedLeopardVideos I have excellent choices in friends
Ellie Chapman You're a fan of ceiling fans?
As someone else in 3rd gen that liked the water combat, I really like the gobul. I wasn't aware I could de-tail it until today though, because I usually fight it with a hammer. Also I'm voting for Great Jaggi, mostly because it's my favorite early big monster.
This version of the Gobul is just a juvenile. The creature eventually goes into the ocean where it matures into a more powerful adult.
So basically saying to git good
There's a mod in world which replaces the Great Jagras with the Gobul.
No idea. It's such an emersive hunt! I loved it! Beat it with a switch axe after a few attempts.
If you are good enough you can stun lock a gobul underwater by hitting it's light ball repeatedly due to it's incredibly low stagger limit.
I like the monster. As for the next monster of the month, I want to see you talk about the Gypceros, as most people hate it but you once said you like it on a livestream.
Nice papa kelly uploads once again. Yes yes yes!
lol using one of the few known german youtubers playing this :D
SnakePlays hab ich mir auch gedacht :D
SnakePlays aber ich hoffe er hat um Erlaubnis gefragt den footage verwenden zu dürfen
I am one of those who disliked underwater combat quite a lot but I did like Gobul, its ecology and moveset worked perfectly for what it was supposed to be.
My favorite part about gobul though was its weapons, I found them to most of the time being really good paralysis weapons.

So whenever I needed a lantern, I would be switching weapon even if I didn't wish to at the time to one that could land hits on the lantern.
Gobul is a fun battle imo. Hes got a unique moveset that is also logical and cool.
now what if gobul had a subspecie that was bigger , lived in the ocean instead of the river and could use a new spin move using his tail witch now paralyzes AND gives thunderblight 2 , its back is also immune to mind's eye when inflated finally , it stays even more low to the ground

whats rong with rathalos? I'm new but its easy for me, the 1st time I fought it I fought 2 at ones and WON
Omg ryan ur back and im back too!!, i was at school and didnt get to watch youtube for a while...
And i dont think gobhul is hated i love him so much!!
And sorry i was away so i now know this wasnt the first video you uploaded when ur got back
Rajang! Just did the Funky Felyne Rajang quest which was so damn hard, id like to hear what you have to say about him :D
I loved the gobul, he gave you speed eating.
What I would change if it somehow returned
Add more breaking spots it’s back and whiskers
Add a non puffing spin move underwater
Eyes glow a bit more while hiding
More land moves
Elemental more land based subspecies
MH3 on wii was my first action game I played so I was about 7 years old. When I got that cutscene for gobul, I quit the mission instantly and, I’m not afraid to admit this, cried out of fear. Its more of Joke then anything I Find. me and my friends are Gen 2 hunters and we joke about it all the time XD
Are you room mates cool with your Yt channel? Nice vid btw.
I used to hate Gobul because Tri was my first game, and I was very unfamiliar with the mechanics of weapons and monsters, let alone underwater fights. you can block the stun too
I think my hate of the Gobul mostly stems from the Flooded Forest's cramped underwater areas and muddy color palette and the Gobul constantly rolling around in said cramped areas.
But I agree, there are much worse monsters. Owls and obsidian wyverns spring to mind.
Slayer, wherever you may be... cool drawing.
One of my favorite monsters tbh
Gobul is one of the easiest fights you can have once you figure out its pattern's and tells.
I like facing gobul cause of how easy it was to beat also love how it's armor looks
I hope they add gobul in a future update for world, they confirmed that they will be adding more monsters in updates
Ryan can you do Rajang next month
What are you looking at?
1:28 Ok I can´t be the only one who noticed this is gameplay from Zimbel. Welp, I mean, if you are german you might know him.
Could you do miztuzune next month
I luv gobul he is OnEz oF a KinD.
*Satanic Whinnie the Pooh noises*
This fight is from Three german TH-camer
Tigrex pls?
Sense when was he hated
rathalos isnt nearly as bad as gobul, because you can actually reliably control your character on land vs underwater
I lov gobul🐈and i even make that armor to newbies i loved the swimming mechanics
I did't know that you could cut off Gobul's tail
I want Gobul back in a game that has mounting.. just to watch people cart for trying it, lol.
Many hate it because Gobul is not an epic monster that makes epic gear, it's an obstacle in the way. People just want to kill just one and get over with. Turns out that this is not an easy fight.
U should make about why rathalos is loved by everyone that will be interesting
Could you give us a link to your twitter
Can you do Rajang next
Uragaan or rajang
TheDarknessfiend it's rajang
someone hates gobul? but he was my favorite low tier T.T
also how is the whole fishing gobul thing unknown? that was LITTERLY the bonus mission for the first gobul hunt.
Rajang MA BOI, btw what is your twitter so i can follow you
@RLVOfficial
