EV is a downgrade not an upgrade in so many levels. I know because I owned one and I’m having love hate issues with it. Which I haven’t experienced before with my TDIs. Thinking of going back to ICEs or Hybrids.

Saw a new 2024 non-2-tone version today in the Teal colour and it looked quite well. It was also de-badged on the back. Unsure if the driver themselves used a heat-gun to remove the left and right rear chrome-plastic badges ("CH-R" and the "Toyota" word" in silver on the left rear, and the "blue motion" badge over on the right) but it defiantly further improved the rear end with all of those badges missing (simply left the central emblem). Would 100% recommend de-badging after seeing their result today.

Compared to my current CHR there’s two main things I do not like about the New CHR -
    1. Pop out door handles
    2. No back wiper
But, other than that it’s not a bad looking motor and the addition of the Panoramic Roof is big plus if you can afford that model 😬 GREAT VID 👍

I’ve seen 2 of these on the road recently and I have to say it is lovely. The styling is great. Obviously it’s not the most practical car, the rear seats are a bit cramped. But you definitely would manage a couple of kids back there no problem. I love the interior. Very nice. But yeah prices are really creeping up.

In Ireland, even every day motoring, is considered as the height of luxury and is taxed accordingly notwithstanding that the country is mainly rural and has very poor public transport options. We have vehicle registration tax in Ireland which is an additional tax on already taxed vehicles masquerading as a registration fee. So you pay tax on tax paid.
Best wishes with your new car.

On your the pics the seat was further back than I would have it at my height but I don't know your height. All cars have increased in price , the pcp rental is similar to the last car as it has a higher residual. Probably buying for my wife as we got 62 mpg on the test drive nearly double the VW, Bmw and Kia automatics we also drove.

Best economy achievable on these cars and all newer Toyota hybrids if you use Eco Model, auto air con and radar cruise control. Getting 4.5 ltr p/100km mostly from 23 chr. Warmer weather near 4ltr p/100km. Road noise for me noticeable at 120km in chr and rav4. I came from 1.6tdi Golf. Only thing I miss is sound insulation on VW. Chr drives beautifully. Boot in terms of litres is less than golf but chr boot in 23 model is wide and more practical for me than Golf. Golf has more depth, but that is sometimes wasted space. I get two more shopping bags left to right than golf.

So many complications that increase the price enormously (over 35,000 euros) - 3 engines, battery, ultra-complicated gearbox, etc., all to get a consumption of 5l/100 km in the real world, in the conditions that a 1.5 DCI engine super-simple on an antique Dacia Logan of 7,000 euros consumes 4.5 l/100km under the same conditions. This is only because Toyota is marked by a visceral hatred (of the boss) for electric cars. I kept an old Logan for a maximum of 2-3 long trips a year, for the rest (in the city and surroundings) I use an electric Dacia Spring of 8,000 euros, which consumes a maximum of 11-12 kWh/100km, i.e. less than 1.5 l gasoline/100km, so a maximum of a third of the consumption of this enormously priced Japanese Frankenstein.

This is definitely my favourite colour and favourite styling. I really don't like the two tone paint that covers half of the car. I like it only when the roof is black but nothing else. This new CH-R is really stunning. I did like the exterior of the previous model, but the interior was too dated. Also the car I test drove was grossly underpowered. I think it was a 1.2 ltr.
For this model, definitely a 2 ltr. I also really like the interior of this new model and I'm glad Toyota didn't go for a long curved screen. I prefer this more traditional cluster and separate screen. The price is a stretch though. I might wait a year or two and get a second-hand one. I will test drive it though. One of the gem 💎 of Toyota.
I still have my old CHR this is my long driving car. I’m not worried about my pocket.😁
    Reliability
    Safety
    Economy
    Smooth
Honestly the down side the performance. But I don’t mine coz I’m not in a hurry anyway.
But if I’m in hurry my thirsty camel Lexus sport sedan will give stress mode.😁

They are very fuel efficient and pretty impressive performance as well. Ergonomics are good and seats very comfortable. As you say, the legroom in rear is non existent. The price is high as a new model, so maybe buy 6 months or year old used example later.

4 years of ownership of first gen C-HR and back seat room has never been a problem. The tallest guest to passenger seat and rest will sit back there just fine. At the same price range you can always go with Corolla Cross if rear space is someones need. There's no sense for Toyota to make two similar models for the same people. We are empty nesters and only seldom have anything else than a labrador in the back seat and luggage in the trunk. Just perfect for our use case.

@@timogronroos4642 The model being reviewed here is all new. I looked at and drove one and was impressed overall. It can’t be denied that regular use carrying rear seat passengers would be quite uncomfortable unless they were small children. As you say, it’s alright if you only use them occasionally.

    Nice video!
    Very expensive.
ugly face it’s like a Chinese cartoon…. Small rear windows. The doors don’t open a lot same problem like Yaris Yaris cross Corollas. If you don’t buy the extra panoramic roof, it has a black roof, which is very ugly. You feel like you are in a smaller car Claustrophobic. I don’t know what happened in the Toyota design center. If Toyotas don’t have the hybrid system I am sure Toyota will not sell all these cars. And the last bad thing is that the car is made in Turkey…….
