This technique has literally turned my entire breastfeeding journey around. I can't thank you enough. I'm going to share this video with every new mom.
Was in pain for most breastfeeding sessions with my newborn. Many tears cried! Been watching so many videos trying to learn how to get a deeper latch that wouldn’t make my teeth grind and toes curl. I didn’t know breastfeeding could be so hard. I had never seen your technique before but tried it and it really works! Thank you so much. You saved my nipples 😅
The way you handled the doll for the whole video was like it wasn't even a doll at all, but a real baby. This was so well explained, so professional. This is my favorite breastfeeding instructional video that I have come across. Just brilliant. Bravo. ❤
I'm just here to echo how incredible this video and information is. Thank you! Thank you! I am 10 days postpartum and have been struggling with horrible pain while breastfeeding the entire time. I've seen 4 lactation nurses and consultants, none of whom were able to help. I had another appointment booked before I found this video. My little one doesn't adore this position (yet) but the instant pain relief made me want to cry tears of joy. I finally feel like I can do this!
Idk who you are but I could kiss you for fixing my latch! I was so not wanting to go see the hospital lactation consultant who would tell me, "get all these pillows and blankets situated just so and then baby will be better" when I knew I would not be doing any of that at 3 in the morning. Your video is so helpful and practical. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I can't thank you enough for this video!!! I'm from Brazil and i've spent the last 16 days watching all the breastfeeding videos from youtube, from Brazil and other countries, trying to find a way to breastfeed my baby without the horrible pain i was feeling. Sored niples and lots of crying solved by such a simple technic. On the first try i alredy felt no pain for the first time since she's born!! Thank you!!

Thank you for this! Had a shallow latch that led to nipple damage and mastitis. Was wrestling with pillows and succumbing to bad posture all in an attempt to get a deeper latch. This video was SO helpful. Took a few days to really get the technique down, but in that time my nipples healed and now my baby is nursing like a champ. THANK YOU!
I know this is an old video but I just had to say thank you!! I was struggling so much trying to get my newborn to latch correctly and kept getting different advice from different midwifes. I watched your video, put it into practice that night and it worked pretty much instantly! The last two days of feeding have been a breeze in comparison to the first two days of her life. Your video save my sanity along with my poor nipples!
Ladies, please watch! This is my 6th child and breastfeeding is always a challenge that I end up succumbing to. I always switch to all formula by 3 months because my production is nil. I know the latch is very important to production and for the first time, getting a good latch has been explained to me in a way that worked. Thank you so much!
Carrie Franklin thank you for your comment... So pleased this is helpful! You may also find this useful on milk preduction. www.faithmcginn.com/index.php?p=1_23_Increasing-Your-Milk-Supply
This technique in this video has literally changed my life in one feeding with my 3 day old. No other lactation consultant has suggested this. My nipples are destroyed and I’m hoping by using this technique now we’ll be on the road to no more tears. It helped tremendously for the feeding I just did. THANK YOU THANK YOU
This video is amazing and I can't believe the knowledge it gives. My daughter is 6 days old and the lactation consultant at the hospital told me everything "looked good" with her latch when really it was too shallow and my nipple was getting creased and damaged, not unbearable pain though so I dealt with it. I figured her mouth is just too small and we wouldn't get a deep enough latch every time. We would sometimes get a lucky latch that wasn't painful at all but I could not replicate it. This mostly happened when I let her latch naturally, but I was nervous because of the soreness and was probably hindering her more than helping. After all day yesterday with no lucky latches, I found your video. She's nursing right now with no pain and she is so calm and content. She kept trying to get get hands in the way starting to suck on them even when I tried to move them to either side of the breast but ultimately she latched herself on. Amazing! Thank you for posting this! It's the most helpful thing I've found anywhere on the internet about breastfeeding. Lactation consultants in the hospital should be teaching it this way!
This is exactly my current situation! He’s 8 days old and I’m supplementing with formula but trying to limit that a bit. It’s been a challenge but I’m hoping this video will help.
This helped tremendously! I’m on day 3 out of the hospital and have been experiencing so much nipple soreness/pain that I almost wanted to give up. My daughter lost too much weight so I had to start supplementing formula and continue to try to breastfeed. Tonight, I finally got a good latch using your techniques and feel hopeful that I can do this! No giving up!
I watched so many videos on how to help me with my baby and getting a good latch I had very sore and painful nipples and I came across this video and it was the only video that helped me achieve a good latch and pain free breastfeeding it even helped my nipples to heal and this has allowed me to enjoy breastfeeding as I wanted I was super stressed I was in tears thinking I was not made to breastfeed at the beginning it took me about 3 weeks to get a good latch and now my baby is 2 months and It is going so good I definitely recommend this video to everyone who is struggling with the latch or sore nipples not even the lactation consultants in my area could help me. Thank you so much for this video all lactation consultants should really teach us this Thank you so much!!
I watched your video at 5am, tired and so sore from feeding my almost 8 week old son that I was ready to give up. My right breast has always given me more pain than the right but he's latched on deep with much less pain than normal thanks to the thumbs up technique. I was dealing with squashed nippples and pumping for relief before this. Thank you for making this with such clear instructions. You are a lactation angel!!
I know this video is a few years old, so you might not see this, but I'm so grateful for your video. I've had a difficult breastfeeding journey with my 3 month old son. Between mastitis, shallow latch, and repeated nipple damage, I thought it was time to just throw in the towel. I met with a lactation consultant and they didn't have much advice, basically they said latching would be difficult because my son wouldn't open very wide. On my FIRST TRY with the thumbs up technique we got a pain-free latch. You are our hero!!! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to continue breastfeeding my son.
I went to bed last night ready to give up. Over the past 3 weeks my 10 week old has had the worst latch and I have been in horrible pain. I've met with several LCs but nothing has worked since he usually performs great when we are there. So I gave him bottles through the night and woke up pumped and bottle fed some more. So willing to give it one last shot before quitting I came to TH-cam and found your videos. Though my LCs have been great and are the ones who helped me from the beginning, they weren't able to help me when I was struggling on my own. Your videos seriously saved our journey! For the first time in a long while I was able to get him to latch mostly pain free (it started to hurt toward the end of the feeding) the kangaroo hold calmed him down and your thumbs-up method worked wonders. I am so thankful for your help through these videos!
Areema Sweeney Heey.. I feel for you😞I'm in the same position as you and everyday I wake up thinking today I'm just going to give up😩 for some reason it's not enjoyable even at 3 weeks
I was struggling from one month to feed my baby. After seeing this video I'm able to feed my baby properly and even my baby is satisfied... Thank you soo much.
I genuinely was starting to think that pain free breastfeeding was just not possible for me after weaning early with my first daughter and now trying to nurse my second daughter of only 6 days old, until I watched this and started using the flipple as you describe it. Still trying to nail down body position for my wiggly newborn, but not entering into excruciating pain every time she eats has saved my life, thank you.
I have had pain in my left nipple since day one. I cringe every time I had to feed from that breast. At 8 weeks, I was ready to give up. Last night I found this video with the thumbs technique and I had NO pain on my left side! I have never heard of this technique, not even during my first pregnancy. This video saved my nipples and sanity. And I even think he's getting more milk too! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
At 1am here I cried and decided that's it! No more breastfeeding. Until I googled "why my nipple hurts throughout breastfeeding"? And took me to your video. You are an angel!!!!! I took all your advice and tips...omg have been doing it the wrong way! baby is feeding pain free and am so so so so happy ! So so happy. Its 1.47 am and baby got off the breast by herself unlike before where I would have to bear the pain until I give up and take d breast off my self. Dear faith, you don't know how happy I am right now. Thank you so much!!! I didnt even need a breastfeeding pillow! Thank you thank you!
I had blood blisters on both my nipples and “lipstick” nipple. I knew we weren’t getting it. I found your video on a google search and it helped me so much! I was finally able to get my LO to latch without being in incredible pain. And getting the better latch let my blood blisters heal. We don’t need a specific method anymore as she latches on her own now, but I recommend this video to anyone I see talk about having problems latching. Thank you! This video played a big part in saving my breastfeeding relationship and journey with my LO!
My baby is almost a week old, and was going to give up but I decided to keep trying and do research. I’m so happy I came across this video. This is the first time ever he has had a good latch since leaving the hospital. Definitely going to tell everyone about this video. Thank you ❤
Faith, I’m crying happy tears. Thank you so much for the deep latch with thumbs up technique, it’s the first time breastfeeding hasn’t hurt, my baby is 3 weeks old and I had been putting up with nipple pain so she could get milk. I just tried this method and I couldn’t believe it! God bless you!
I share this video with all of my new mama friends because it was so helpful for me in the beginning! We are now successfully 14 months into breastfeeding! Thank you ♥️
I can't thank you enough for this video. Post cesarean with the pain and adding nipple soreness to that I was just crying through the day... This technique has really made it so much easier and I have new energy to take care of my baby now
OMG thank you! I needed to have some kind of relief! My 5 day old and I were having trouble and my nipples were SO CRACKED. SORE AND SCABBING! I was about ready to make my husband go out to buy formula to supplement for even just a night! This worked the FIRST TIME I fed her using this technique! The Lactation consultant who tried to help in the hospital gave me so much of the opposite advice, “press the nose all the way to your breast she can still breathe” “ cup your breast in a c position and sandwich it into her mouth”. I took her advice to heart and it was not working! I’m so happy I saw this and I will forward it to anyone who mentions their painful feeds. Thank you again, never remove this video!
Thank you so much, my wife was in extreme pain, and none of the midwifes could help her. They were always saying that the baby supposedly had a good latch. On the brink of giving up breastfeeding, we started looking for answers and your video showed up. You really helped us out big time :)))❤️
Thank you for this great video! It helped me in a matter of 2 days with no pain latching now. I'm able to heal and not dread each feeding. Thank you Faith!
This video just saved my breast feeding journey. I’m echoing what many before me have already said, but I watched this video at a breaking point when I was considering giving up. It gave me the confidence and skills to give another feeding a strong try and she latched immediately and perfectly with this method. Thank you for your generosity in sharing this technique in a public and free forum, I can’t even fully express how appreciative I am ❤️
While I haven't been having the bleeding or cracking like some, I have been having pain in one nipple and have a deep chafing on the side. I was honestly skeptical of this technique because it looks so easy, but it works! It makes it easier to apply the steps that the lactation consultants always give you. It will take a few feedings to perfect, but my two week old nor I had any frustration or tears for the first time in a week. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this clip!
Wow! Well spoken and great teaching techniques! I can’t wait to try this when my baby wakes up. I’ve been struggling with conditioning her to latch properly. It has been 4 weeks and I always wince at the initial step of every feeding. My poor husband watches me in terror every time.
This was the MOST helpful video. My baby has been so successful with nursing and this has helped take the stress off of me like crazy. This video was a lifesaver even for me as a fourth time mom!
I am a breastfeeding support worker in London and I recently discovered this video. I have sent the link to a lot of the mums I have called to support and many have told me that it has really helped them. Thank you and keep doing what you do.
Thank you very much for this. I have been in pain for several weeks now but tried this and the close up latching video just after watching them and it works wonders! I will thank all the stars tonight for finding your video at my most desperate moment. I was planning to quit bf tomorrow. Now I am planning to go exclusive breastfeed. No more pain!!! Just amazing! You just don’t know how much this video and the other one means to me.
I’m two days postpartum and really needed this. My son has been nursing and is getting milk, but I still wanted to know a few more tricks to help make this process easier before I see the consultant. Thank you so much 😭
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This is is so helpful ❤️ My 6 day old and I were seriously struggling... I was in tears in the middle of the night when I found this video. It’s truly a Godsend! Thank you so much for sharing these tips 😭❤️
YOU SAVED MY BREASTFEEDING JOURNEY! Thank you!!!!!!! I’m sharing this video with your other one with every new momma I know and my pediatrician. Thank you, my baby thanks you, you are truly an angel. I cried when he latched today because it didn’t hurt! I couldn’t believe it!!!
I just wanted to give you an update - because of you I nursed my kiddo till 2.5 years old! ❤️ I’m now pregnant and excited to start the journey again. I have shared your video with so many women, including one today which is why I saw my own comment and wanted to update. Thank you!!!!
Google is always listening... I had my son in July 2020 and although breastfeeding was going well he would not stay latched. I could tell he was uncomfortable but could never seem to figure out a good enough position (we were also trying to use the boppy). This video came recommended to me when he was less than 2 weeks old and was amazing! I was seen by THREE lactation consultants and not one of them picked up on how I was holding the back of my head. I immediately started holding him how the woman suggests (two fingers at back of neck and body aligned) and bam. He is now 8 weeks old and breastfed without issues! ❤
Thank you SO MUCH!!! My baby just got teeth and was biting me the other day. I was hurting so badly I was despairing and ready to give up on breastfeeding. This video was a lifesaver! I no longer dread nursing! Thanks again from the bottom of my heart!
This is so helpful, within a couple days my cracked nipples healed up and breastfeeding was pain free. The nipple flip/thumbs up technique is a life saver!
OMG! Thank you for this video. Fourth day of cracked, pinched and painful feeding due to bubs not latching correctly. First time no tears or toe curling pain! Wonderful!
Thank you so much for this amazing video! My son is only a week old but I have had the hardest time with breastfeeding, if it wasn’t one thing, it was another. He has such a forceful latch that left bruises and cuts but the cluster feeding made it so much worse. I was told so many different ways of latching correctly by 4 different Lactation Consultants. I was getting desperate and I’ve felt like giving up, everyone just kept saying, “it’ll get better” and I kept wondering when. Your video has helped me where no other person has physically been able to show me or any other video has either. Thank you again, I have not had any pain and my nipples have been able to heal while he is full and happy.
Thank you! This literally saved our breastfeeding in one session! I had been using a nipple shield since my 7wo was born, but she started breaking the suction and taking in so much air she'd get horrible tummy aches from the gas. About a week ago I tried going back to the natural breast, but her latch was so shallow, she was still taking in too much air, and I was so sore! The local support group meetings aren't for weeks, and my schedule didn't leave room for a visit with the lactation consultant. What a world of difference!
Baby #4 due in a couple weeks and I look forward to using this technique again!! This is INCREDIBLE during baby #3 breastfeeding and I never had any pain, bleeding or blistering like I did using other BF methods for baby #1 and #2. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!!!
I’m expecting my first in November and the thought of breast feeding has honestly been a really frightening thought for me since many woman say it is very painful. After watching your video I’m definitely feeling a better since i am able to learn of proper ways to reduce pain and help with latching. I just subbed to your channel and plan on watching all of your videos before my baby comes so I can be ready to care for my baby without fear. Thank you 😊
Thank you for this video! It has completely changed my breastfeeding with my second child. I saw a lactation consultant a few times but none of their advice was as helpful.
This video turned around breastfeeding for us in one try. We got a small amount of formula this morning after a stressful night/morning where wife was in pain/tears and feeling worthless with a crying baby. After things calmed down we found our way to this video, tried it, and it immediately worked and fixed the pain, even with her nipples bleeding earlier in the day
I am 35weeks pregnant.. and im so glad i found your videos! I'm also a nurse but still don't know what to do EXACTLY step by step for a good deep latch ... so thank you so much for sharing your knowledge... 😌 I pray that me and my baby girl will have successful bf sessions.. 😌🙏🏻💕
Been experiencing extremely painful and sore nipples while breastfeeding. My husband played this video for me and the feeding sessions have been great.
Thank you, thank you! What a helpful video with such precise, easy to follow instructions.I was suffering before I saw this, and now with a few minor tweaks,I am able to nurse my baby without being scared when she latches on: IIs there a way I could send you a small gift as a thank you for your service? You have been a blessing!
Omg, I thought I would never get breastfeeding right. It was so painful! But after watching this and trying it out with my newborn...OMG, I'm more confident and look forward to breastfeeding, thank you!
Yesss thank you!! I am 4 days post partum and in nipple pain. I have watched so many videos, but your video is direct, informative and works!!! Thank you, thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video and the other one you referenced! I was having such a hard time getting a pain free latch with my newborn. After watching your videos, it's not quite pain free yet (a lot of healing to do), but it's now relaxing and I'm not cringing during the entire session waiting for it to be over! Thank you so very much!!💕💕💕
No words are enough to describe how greatful iam. I was really struggling till I saw your video . Thanks a ton , it really helped me❤️🙏🏻 you have changed my breastfeeding journey n first time in 15 days I have no pain. God bless you .
Mam, My kudos to you. You've saved my sanity! Baby was very fussy and ever since we tried this technique, She's been feeding so much better and more efficiently! She actually gets full faster and falls back asleep. Thank you for the sleep!
Extremely thankful to you for this video.. I am a new mom and was having problem with breastfeeding.. it was really painful and now I know how to get deep latch and painless breast feeding.. thank you so much
Thank you for this! After a terrible time trying to nurse my first child for 3 weeks and it ending terribly; we are now pregnant with number 2 and I am hoping to use this information before baby arrives.
This helped me so much! This is my first time breast feeding and my son was restless and he ended up making me bleed and i was in so much pain. With doing it this way he’s calm and eats longer.
I’m so excited to try this technique. Baby is 10 weeks old and it has been a nightmare but I wasn’t giving up… which has led to a very damaged right nipple & what seems to be a persistent friction blister that is extremely painful as well as decreased milk supply because I dread feeding him due to pain. I’m hoping this works for us!
I am a qualified Midwife and breastfed my children but I have not come across the thumb technique before but I am so pleased to see in the comments other women have had success with it.
This video was so incredibly helpful for me and my 5 week old. I couldn’t figure out why he was not airtight and swallowing so much air creating painful gas. Now I can nurse more effectively and easily. Thank you so much!!
I've watched both videos - so helpful, thank you so much. I've had improved latches by following your tips, better than anything else I've tried so far. Your advice makes so much sense. We aren't consistently pain free because baby is pinching the nipples. I struggle with supporting my breast and I'm curious what, if any, advice you'd add for larger breasted moms. I've always used the c or u to help support the breast while flipping the nipple in. Using only the thumb takes away that support. Do you recommend letting the breast hang? Also, what is your opinion on using supportive pillows under baby to take pressure off mom's wrists and arms?
Let the breast hang, get a footstool and lay back creating more space in your lap. You can also roll up a diaper or small cloth and place the roll under your breast to hike it up. Next, some nursing bras have a smaller flap that opens. These can provide lift to the breast and access while feeding
I wanted to get on here and leave you a comment because a few days ago I found your video and I wanted to let you know that it has made such a difference. It has helped me a great amount and I feel like because of this video that you've taken the time to make I may be able to continue breastfeeding my son who just turned a month old yesterday. He has put me through some pain these last few weeks and I was ready to give up and bottle feed but thank you so much for the encouragement!and taking the time to make this video
Wow. Thank you and may God bless you. This was so helpful!!! My local Lactation consultants were telling me we may have to clip my daughters very mild tongue tie but she was gaining weight, just nursing was painful. UNTIL NOW! 💃 seriously thank you!
I am delighted you avoided a bogus and painful sham procedure! It's very rare for babies to actually need a surgery for tongue tie, this is oversold for profit!
Thanks for this video. I had need struggling with breast feeding since 2month owing to relatively flat nipples. your kangaroo method helped clam my baby during hunger. Earlier he used to turn and twist so much that I could never get a latch. your breathing technique helped me build a good feeding posture for my baby. I had almost given up hopes. Thanks a ton!!
I cannot thank you enough for this wonderfully helpful video. It is sensible and easy to understand and has helped my newborn and I get a latch that I didn't think was possible for him (having tried plenty of other positions and techniques). Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video and explanation! I've been able to have some nursing sessions with little or no pain!!! I've been struggling for 6 weeks and we have no lactation consultant where I live. Although I'm still struggling to keep the strong latch, my peanut likes to lose suction and fall back from the deep latch causing soreness and bleeding and a lipstick looking nipple, I'm hoping with more practice this will get easier and I'll heal up!
Thanks for the video. It saved my life. My baby is 3 months old and still I didn't knew or was thaught the correct way to feed. Because of this every feeding time was a war experience that I hated. This video has bought much change also some hope.😊
For two days my son co-operated with me for new position during feeding. But later started holding his arms tight so that I don't put it around my waist like what is shown in the video. Because of this again I have to go through the hell. My only concern is, because his head is always tilted to the sides he may get neck pain. I don't know what discomfort is he facing using new position also how to make him feel relax for feeding. Can you please help me?
One of the best example how to breastfeed baby! Thank you a lot. I’m the breastfeeding consultant too, and I’m really exciting the way you are explaining!
I was in pain and my nipples were bleeding despite the LCs telling me the latch was good. I thought I was either going to have to put up with pain for a long time or throw in the towel. I watched this video, tried it out and instantly my baby latched on without any pain at all. I did it for about a week before I was able to just pop my baby on and she latched properly right away. Thank you so much 😊.
I echo what everyone else is saying. Thank you for this helpful video. We're latching better off the right and trying to replicate on the left. Any advice on flailing arms that get in the way? Thanks again ♥️

I agree! I was about ready to give up tonight but her videos saved us!
I use nipple shields, my baby wouldnt latch correctly either, i went and bought the shield and it works perfect, going on 3 months breastfeeding
@@chloerose3707 i use nipple shield and know he's not launching without it. If i use shield only will my milk supply be low.
After reading some of the comments I 100% agree. After watching I had my first pain free feeding. I was in tears with every feeding…. Thank you
I was struggling from one month to feed my baby.
This has been a godsend to my wife and her initial feeding struggles. Thank you for being so clear in your tutorials!
Thanks for the feedback, so happy it has been useful! Faith milkmechanics.com
I share this video with all of my new mama friends because it was so helpful for me in the beginning! We are now successfully 14 months into breastfeeding! Thank you ♥️
One of the best breastfeeding videos I've seen, and I'm a prenatal teacher, so I really appreciate this.
This is the only video (and I’ve watched loads) that I actually understand! My baby is 4 weeks old and we still struggled with latch
I can't thank you enough for this video. Post cesarean with the pain and adding nipple soreness to that I was just crying through the day... This technique has really made it so much easier and I have new energy to take care of my baby now
thank you so much for you kind feedback and it sounds like you are a strong woman!
I was told the same things that do not work! Im so happy for this video!
Thank you for this very detailed video. I am literally in tears when baby tries to latch cos of the pain. I will try this definitely.
Thank you for your kind comments
Thank you! Momma was struggling and baby was upset. Watched this video and immediately implemented the tactics. Now we're latched and relaxed 😎.
SeoRodain thank you so much for the supportive feedback!
Been struggling for a week. The thumb technique is a life saver!! Thank you.
There is no words that describe how much i'm grateful to your advices, it worked like magic and finally breastfeeding is not painful
After things calmed down we found our way to this video, tried it, and it immediately worked and fixed the pain, even with her nipples bleeding earlier in the day
Thank you SO much. Your instructions helped me too nurse my 4-weeks-old baby painless and effective finally ❤️
Thank you for creating this video!!!!!!!! I came across it because of painful nipples. I tried it at our next nursing session… 🙌🏻. Game changer!
Thank you! I was told to use the c/v cup and it has been challenging. After using only my thumb we have seen a huge transformation! God bless you ❤️
Been experiencing extremely painful and sore nipples while breastfeeding. My husband played this video for me and the feeding sessions have been great.
Thank you, thank you! What a helpful video with such precise, easy to follow instructions.I was suffering before I saw this, and now with a few minor tweaks,I am able to nurse my baby without being scared when she latches on:
IIs there a way I could send you a small gift as a thank you for your service? You have been a blessing!
MilkMechanics.com it is my pleasure to help ❤️
This is the best breastfeeding tutorial on yt 💯
Omg, I thought I would never get breastfeeding right. It was so painful! But after watching this and trying it out with my newborn...OMG, I'm more confident and look forward to breastfeeding, thank you!
What wonderful, clear instructions. If only I'd heard this in the first instance. Thank you thank you!
Yesss thank you!! I am 4 days post partum and in nipple pain. I have watched so many videos, but your video is direct, informative and works!!! Thank you, thank you!!
Thank you! I can’t express my thanks in words but this is the best video ever to help moms with latching!
I am a new mom and was having problem with breastfeeding.. it was really painful and now I know how to get deep latch and painless breast feeding.. thank you so much
Than you, Faith. Lives saved by this video. - Dad of twin babygirls from Korea.
WOW! congratulations!
Thank you for this! After a terrible time trying to nurse my first child for 3 weeks and it ending terribly; we are now pregnant with number 2 and I am hoping to use this information before baby arrives.
This video is literally a latch saver...!! Thank you so much!!!!
I'm still pregnant, but will be trying this when baby comes in November!
Same
Same!
I had my baby 4 weeks ago and let me just tell you to be very patient! It’s not easy and does take time for you and your baby to get used to it.
Did it work?
I am a qualified Midwife and breastfed my children but I have not come across the thumb technique before but I am so pleased to see in the comments other women have had success with it.
Ty so much....very much stress relieving technique....no one else taught me so far and am struggling with this issue badly...ty so much
This video was so incredibly helpful for me and my 5 week old. I couldn’t figure out why he was not airtight and swallowing so much air creating painful gas. Now I can nurse more effectively and easily. Thank you so much!!
congratulations, so glad you persisted! Faith
I can't find the other video? Thumbs up technique? Could you add a link please? Xx

This is by far the best video on the topic
Thank you for your comment! Keep going, don't quit. If you have more problems, my website is www.milkmechanics.com, you can reach me there :)
I am having my first baby in about 6 weeks and this video was very helpful as preparation! Thanks!
This video has probably saved my breastfeeding journey. Thank you so much. Fantastic info!!
I’m glad that after months of pain, it’s feeling like a massage when my baby is nursing.
Thank you for helping my son and I in our breastfeeding journey...thanks to this video im no longer in pain . Thank you and god bless you .
One of the best example how to breastfeed baby! Thank you a lot. I’m the breastfeeding consultant too, and I’m really exciting the way you are explaining!
Thank you so much. We've been trying to figure this out for a month now
I was in pain and my nipples were bleeding despite the LCs telling me the latch was good. I thought I was either going to have to put up with pain for a long time or throw in the towel. I watched this video, tried it out and instantly my baby latched on without any pain at all. I did it for about a week before I was able to just pop my baby on and she latched properly right away. Thank you so much 😊.
Lovely! We were struggling and this technique helped us get back on track. Saved us from so much stress. Thank you so much!
I echo what everyone else is saying. Thank you for this helpful video. We're latching better off the right and trying to replicate on the left. Any advice on flailing arms that get in the way? Thanks again ♥️
