Mughals built a formidable empire but its incorrect to call them the greatest of India ever. Ancient India had many great empires that were not only militarily strong but were a great patrons of art, science, literature and architecture...a source of great inspiration for the rest of the known world such as the Gupta Empire, the Chola Empire, Ashoka and Chandragupta, Harshavardhana just to name a few..
Why we called great because Mughal empire is the longest dynasties in India with new technology introduced.. I'm history students for me Mughal empires is the greatest because it connected the whole world..
@The Phenomenal One they traded with europeons, persians, ottomans, arabs, chinese, north and south africans, south east asians, central asians and also americans through europeans thats why they were connected to the whole world.
@@lamsomathanmi5336 which ever school/university taught you history has really poor standards. Because if you are a history student then you should know that India had many empires before the Mughals arrived who traded and connected with the greatest empires and civilizations of their time...between 325 BC to 185 BC the Mauryans traded with the Romans, Greeks and Persians. The Mauryan's helped spread Buddhism and Indian culture far and wide. Their edicts have been found as far as in Afghanistan, Iran, China, Srilanka etc. The Chola empire in the 1000s stretched from Maldives to Sumatra...they are the ones who brought Hinduism and Indian culture to Java, Indonesia and other parts of South East Asia..Now that's what's called being connected to the world...Mughals were only confined to Northern India. They never even made it to South India until the fag end of their reign..but were soon ousted by the Marathas..so please get your facts right if you are claiming to be a history student.
Many empires before and after them have done the same. Mughals only influenced the northern part of India. Their influence was limited even within India, let alone influencing and connecting the world.

"Mughal" is Persian for "Mongol", and "Mugholestan" is Persian for the land of "Mongolia" that is presently a part of China (state of the Mongols). It is amazing to know that so many young Indians as well as historians do not know this and they do not realize that Mughal rulers of Asia were the descendants of the ruthless conquerer, the Gangis khan. Once the Mongolian army conquered Iran, they stayed there and their children were born from Persian women so basically they became Persian, so the official language of the Mughal empire also in India was Persian, and it is Persian poetry that you view on the paintings you show in this video and basically all artwork of the Mughal rulers. Also, all the architecture of this empire in northern India is Persian Indian styled architecture. The cuisine of Northern India for a large part is directly related to Persian cuisine even with the same names for various dishes, also there are a lot of Persian vocabulary in Hindi spoken today.
Baburnama was written in old Uzbek language (Chagatay language) and official language of India was Chagatay language as well (only initially). But later it was changed to Persian, Urdu.

We were taught history in school, but it was not very detailed nor accurate especially on the subject about Muslim invaders, nor Moghals.. Growing up in India in the 80's under then Congress government, many things were omitted from our history, or even fabricated and falsified. We Indians are now learning so many new things about our own history that we never knew before. I actually read a lot of history since the last twenty years. Still too much to learn and catch up it seems.
NO, congress has nothing to do with anything. now is more fabricated lies and stories are propaganda. old text books were more closer to true history. i have every book i studied in my school. they were neutral and teach history as history not as some glorifying religious bullshit which is taught today. first of all history is NEUTRAL you cant add your own emotion because of some religion. history should be taken as history it should never be base for future policies cos history is already happend. ideal citizen dont destroy old monuments or curse them no matter who built it. it should be left as it is for people to know what was history. but instead of that our people fight over stupid things and fight for history. that is pure stupidity. its a myth that congress gave us false history. what was bjp was doing from 70 years why they suddenly bring their version of history they were re-writting history from 70 years and now suddenly when they come to power only then they teach their biased historical views?? people should think LOGICAL and study different sources to verify every history, i never trust anyone. i do my own research. nobody was bad or evil it was just history.
if mughals were not muslims and they follow some other religion then they will be good? like christian crusaders or medival empire of europes or russia. they do same bloodshed in wars. so saying that only muslim kingdom were cruel its a biased thing. look at mongols, worlds most bloody people were mongols and vikings. even greek and romans were also violent and psycho in war, chinese and japanese too, even ashoka was cruel in war. convert to some religoin doesnt means that religoin is bad. most of those mughals were convert. and they were warrior tribes from ancient time. even long before Chinggis khan they were nomadic peoples and they were fierce warriors. its just that they were later convet to islam but they still follow their laws too. just like some hindu use hindu religion to gain trust of other hindus mughals did this same. they even kill their own muslim peoples or their relatives for power. so all things are pure power-struggle. religion is just used always by every king or empire.
Uyghurs and kirghiz are the real turks . the other turkic people are the ones moved to far west like kazahks, uzbeks, Caucasus turks of all kinds. Chinese oppression over Uyghurs is real and to believe that one must see it with their own eyes , I did... have you ?
Why all the whining about invaders. Ashoka invaded Kalinga and Afghanistan and Balochistan. Until his change of heart after battle of Kalinga he had a reputation of being bloodthirsty and cruel. He tortured his opponents and imprisoned his brother. In fact he became the king after usurping the throne from his brother by killing him by tricking him into entering a pit filled with live coals. He was a cruel despot and invaded many kingdoms until his change of heart after battle of Kalinga.Buddhist legends state that Ashoka was bad-tempered and of a wicked nature. He built Ashoka's Hell, an elaborate torture chamber described as a "Paradisal Hell" due to the contrast between its beautiful exterior and the acts carried out within by his appointed executioner, Girikaa.
The history is something that cannot be changed. In Babur's time he conquered India and there is more truth to it that he was invited by Indian's themselves to defeat Delhi (by Raja Jai Chand). There was a time when the Indian Kings like Ashoka went westwards and conquered the areas from where Babur came. If we go further back in history more astonishing truths come out. Even in the time of Mahabharata the most (in)famous Gandhar Naresh Shakuni belonged to the same area and it would be further interesting for anyone who wants - "What King Dhritrastra did to Ghandhari's (his wife) parents and brothers and where did the youngest of them get the 'pasa' (dice)". "Gandharv vivah" as told in Mahabharata resembles they tradition of marriage in the Caucasian region if someone is interested to do the research and find the connection. when you start reading from the oldest time you will see that the history is longer than Babur and there is a further long connection between India and Caucasian/ Caspian sea area. it is all there you only need to read and think. For people making uninformed comments - STOP THINKING HINDU MUSLIM angle in everything. The gentleman is only stating the historical facts. And if gives you some relief go further back in history you may find some facts that may boost your hurt egos. It would be much wiser to learn from history rather blame others as history has a bad habit of repeating itself.
@Ibran Ahmetović Nowhere it is written in my comment that "Hindus expanded beyond Afghanistan", It only says that the area from Caucasian region to India have a very long connection with a lot of empires forming and disintegrating over this whole area. If you are really interested in history then you may check for the Kushan empire (Indo-Greek) and Kanishka the Great, Indo-Scythians empire (the Shakas), the Fire Temple "Ateshgah, Baku Azerbaijan" or the "Roma People" and see if you find any connections. If looking at this video through the lens of "which religion is superior or glorifying a specific religion" then I am sorry to have replied to you and please ignore the comment. Babur was a descendant of Gengis Khan who was a Mongol and followed Tengrist religion (Gengis Khan was not a Muslim) from mother's side and Timur from Father's side.
@Ibran Ahmetović Best of Luck to you in your Islamic endeavours. The whole world is vary of it. These are people who take shelter in different land and then they betray them. Look what they are doing in the whole of Europe. You wish to glorify Islam that is your take. I never talked about religion I was talking only about the ancient connections which you yourself have written in your explanation on who conquered whom and you were also subjects to the Ottoman Empire which sided with the person who was responsible for WW-2. When talking about I was talking about Ashok I meant that he reigned till Kandhar. The other kingdoms that I gave you the names of I am very well aware that they were not Hindu empires and show me the place where where I wrote such. I was talking about the ancient connections between the lands from historical point but it seems that instead of being someone interested in history you are one of he religious zealots who wish to establish your religion of peace with love using comments like "islam is the only religion....". How you got converted to islam is also well documented and what "the person" you follow did and what his followers like you are doing all over the world too is very well known. :))) Nobody is trying to negate the effect of "islam" the whole world knows about it and that is why many countries are stopping them coming to their lands. Your comment only shows that what China is doing to you peace loving brothers in the western part of china is... and it is the west that is fighting for their right in comparison what your and other countries which follow your peace loving religion are falling in the lap of China and touching its feet for money. Thank you so much for the comment and opening my eyes that you people can never be trusted. You disagree with my comments and I disagree with yours. I like this video. Well done for making it. Hindu Indians may be a bit upset at your describing the Mughal Empire as great. But it was certainly greatest in modern era. Maurya/Gupta empires were of a similar size but older. Keep on making videos
I don't know why so many Indians here are being so toxic about the history. That's how stuff worked back then. There were kings and they were conquerers . The fact is that with the Mughal empire, a lot of money and riches came to India as well. Most of the North Indian culture/cuisine which is known the world over comes from this influence. Cultural mixup is the best thing a country could experience in that time. The world famous Indian cuisine is a great mashup of Indian and Mughalai food. In addition, the mughal empire was not poorly ran empire, the justice system and the equality was far greater than any other kingdoms at that time. They say that Greece had "Democracy" but little do they know that the whole foundation of Greece was built upon slavery. Alexander himself in fact kept the government system intact because he thought it was great.
Sure. Ignore the atrocities committed by invaders on people, on works of art, on temples, on Nalanda the most prominent educational institute back then, on burning 14000 books on art, astrology, astronomy, theology, psychology, etc that contained such wealth of information that what we are doing today is re inventing the wheel. Also, what riches? Everything was already there in India. They didn’t bring anything with them apart from a religion with concept such alien to us, that in order to make it palatable we came up with Sufism, a completely different take on the thing. And all this for what? Cuisine? We could have done without the raping and pillaging if they didn’t share their samosas and jalebi with us... and what passes as mughlai food today is purely an adaptation of Arabic food, with INDIAN spices.. even Mughals didn’t have the original recipes until they came and tasted the spices here. So.. yes. We have all the right to be sore about the invasion. However, today’s muslims have nothing to do with what happened ions ago, so in no way should we be sore towards them. The only soreness is towards the barbaric invaders only.
@Anshuman: Sir, I disagree that much of India's culture and cuisine are from the Mughals. India has one of oldest civilizations in human history. In the ancient world, everyone came to India not to conquer, but for spices. There was an established trade route by sea through the Arabian Sea to India. Spices were instrumental in preserving food, flavor, and medicines. In ancient Rome, black pepper was equal in weight to gold. Black pepper, for example, was entirely native to India. To suggest that people from Southern Russia and Mongolia brought cuisine and culture to India is laughable. Those conquering people were nomadic tribes. There are no spices native to those regions in Mughal cuisine. Mughal cuisine involves spices that are only native to India. The Mughals came and settled in India accepting the local culture and marrying the natives. The only thing that survived was Islam, but the culture and cuisine is entirely Indian. Just compare Muslims living in Russia, Arabia, and China and compare them to South Asia (India) in culture and cuisine and you will see it is entirely native Indian.
Its funny that my Italian friends always tell me how rich Italian cuisine is. I always laugh and reply that the Italians obtained pasta from the Chinese, spices from India and the only thing that Italians contributed to their meal was tomatoes. When Columbus discovered the New World, he was looking for spices in India. Believing he landed in India, he proceeded to call the natives of America erroneously as Indians.

aerie Kop - When it comes to Muslim invaders, the Moghuls were more tolerant of other religions than the rest.. but then that is not saying much.. From Md Bin Qasim to Nadir Shah with Timur, Ghori and Ghazni in between, all came to India to loot and plunder.. They justified it in the name of Islam and claimed to be performing their Islamic duty.. So yes.. when these invaders are glorified, I take offense. I don’t speak for all Hindus but at least you have one perspective. Now, please explain to me why Muslim invaders who plundered, looted and killed are glorified by Indian Muslims? BTW, all Hindus could not be converted for several reasons.. Non Muslims were tax cows.. Zajia tax is one example.. India is very vast and was very rural. So most of the conversions happened along the coast Bengal, Sindh, and Kerala; and Punjab due to land proximity. Also, the intellectuals and the government machinery was run by Hindus so there is that. Above all, good chunk of population were willing to die than convert. And you are forgetting the Muslim population that is now in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The real fact! Why do other race try to invade or conquer other kingdoms like mungul, British, japanes, Mongolia,Spanish,France or Portugal did? The answer is simple, it's coz the race have provery in shelter like agriculture, gold, bad weather or poor culture does they try to conquer other kingdoms. But other side those countries who has rich cultural, agriculture, good economy doesn't need to explore or invade others as they are already well satisfied...The counties like India,China,Varma, butan, Indonesian etc are on this catagories.
That has nothing to do with "cultural superiority". The culture of the invaders was powerful and aggressive enough to invade the complacent happy cultures. Going by your logic that is.
China is one of the biggest conquerors in history. Tibet, manchu, far West China. These were all conquered regions of what you call "China"...Also Don't forget India was invaded by the Brahmin at the very beginning

Then i think, its time we should teach the Right History in our schools.

India is a dazzling civilisation full of historical greatness but also like everywhere on this Earth, of brutality and horror.

Abdul - is short for abd-ul-allah or abd-ullah which is made of words abd-allah (servant of god) both of which are arabic terms.... Isn't it ?
Hussein or Hussayn - rooted in the word ~ hasan meaning beautiful or handsome or good.
Mehmood, mohammad, hammaad - are rooted in arabic word HAMD... meaning praise.
Rehman - rooted in arabic word Reham.

Mahabharat is glorified account of "Battle of 10 janpada"...
Ramayana is based on Aryan invasion...

Was he ethnically Barlas (Paternally), Chagatai, Changezi (Maternally), Uzbek?.
Yes. Because in Turkic culture whatever tribe your father is what tribe you will be in.
So many people abusive Babur as if he killed their real fathers. Most of you don't even read real history. Whatsapp forwards is not legit source of history.
Desi Raand , HINDU CONVERT FROM WHAT?, IDIOT HINDUISM IS NOT A RELIGION ITS MORE LIKE A CREED. A MIXTURE OF DIFFERENT RULES INFLUENCED BY OTHER RELIGIONS AND CULTURES.
AND THERE WAS NO NATIVE GENE OR RELIGION OR CREED EVER EXISTED IN SOUTH ASIA, EVEN GENE OF DAWARIAN OR EARLIEST KNOWN SETTLER IN INDIA IS EXTINCT TODAY. FROM THE FIRST SETTLER IN INDIA TO TODAY ALL DAWARIAN, ARYAN, PERSIAN, ARAB, CHINESE ASTRO AND ANGLO EVERYONE WERE MIGRATORS/INTRUDERS.
CoD RocKz # Wild gaming , if muslims mass murdered hindus then how can today, in india there are 15% muslim and 80% hindus, doesn't make any sense. Muslim ruled 1000 years in india and their rule is considered golden age in the recorded history of southasia or india.
Stop promoting this nosense and hate for political gains, as its sounds too stupid to be true.
If you really want to learn history, go to dehli museum read actual text of babur to his son, how he instruct his son not to allow cow meat as it could disheart feelings of innocent hindus in his empire and you What's app encyclopedia who haven't read a single history book in their entire life went on commenting!.

When it comes to Muslim invaders, the Moghuls were more tolerant of other religions than the rest.. but then that is not saying much..
Central asia is really important to understand the modern day religion.

VERY Informative! 😁😁😁
A N d I'm Muslim by the way and historian so I present the REAL history..
you are right Desi History Mantr
Do you know the meaning of Brahmin....???
Where were they living in this valley? I have heard that he had constructed a road or some channel right from his palace to this mountain?
Timur himself traced his ancestry to Gengiz Khan and he even in fact proclaimed to bring back Gengiz’s glory.
Many hate mongers in the comments section won’t know Khan isn’t Muslim name rather mongol name. Gengiz Khan himself a tangerist but converted to Buddhism before death. Many of gengiz’s children embraced Buddhism and a just one son took Islam.
Nice info
I’ve always wondered about central Asian history
@nomadic professor Dont you find the baburnama to be difficult reading due to the translation from thurki?
I have had a copy for a few months but I find some loss in translation sometimes when i read it and do not understand much. Perhaps its my own stupidity in ignoring the author s note on the difficulty's of the translation and expecting it to be a modern " Dear diary" scenario jumping from day to day whereas his seem like thoughts he would get back to on a later day. But bubur seems to have been a nature lover, his descriptions of geography and animal life is vivid.
