I don’t know why, but there is nothing more satisfying than watching the evolution of young Jello drawing all over young Nardwuar’s face with a marker, to doing a 3 hour interview with him decades later. And the 12 other interviews in between
Me: Hi Jello Biafra, how are you today? Jello: Well, you know, Today was a song recorded by Smashing Pumpkins back in the early 90's, but there's a band called The New Christy Minstrels who also recorded a song called Today waaay back in like 1964 that was covered by artists named The Sandpipers and also Jimmy Rogers, both in 1967 and I believe John Denver also recorded that song too and stuff......... 3 hours later..... Me: So how are YOU? Jello: I feel good despite how shitty everything that's been going on and stuff, you know, I Feel Good by James Brown was one of those songs that really got the kids going back in..... Love Jello's in depth wanderings into the subjects put to him by the ever awesome Nardwuar
Because jello is talking about his passion which is collecting records. If You asked me about cooking my own Indian Curry I could give u an Hour's worth
It doesn't take much to make Jello talk. Watch his Anthony Fantano interview. It's probably an hour long and Fantano probably asked less than 5 quesitons lol
Jello's knowledge on records is amazing, but what's more amazing is his knowledge and passion for obscure niche trends and weird mediums of records produced as a product of their time is truly awesome. I could listen to him talk about records for hours.
Hearing and watching Jello talk about his process to make music is amazing and I hope other musicians use this as a template to make songs. I don't do this as much as I should but I have done it. The more you expand your musical reach the more different and unique your songs will be
Jello really oughta make a TH-cam channel discussing the history records and record collecting. Steve Albini has been doing TH-cam videos for electrical audio lately that has gotten some attention so I'm sure Jello could build a TH-cam audience too
I just wish he wouldn't get so into these wacko records corporations or political people made to brainwash people. They are worthwhile to be aware of and scoff at but wish he'd more stick to cool musical stuff. I can listen to a great record hundreds of times and whereas I listen to way more stuff than most people you still have to draw the line. That being said all the records he is associated with musically are pretty high quality!
I absolutely love these two together...... Podcast? Punk rock music could use a duo like this to help us bond and form community. Besides buddy podcasts are all the rage lately
Didn't know Nardwuar had had a stroke, but two? I remember discovering his videos like 13 years ago (i was 12 back then), i inmediatly liked him and began my music discovery journey based on some of the artists he interviewed. I hope he gets to live many more years and make many more interviews.
Collectors of rare "novelty" vinyl are gonna love this Part 2 of Nardwuar vs Jello Biafra live from both Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada & San Francisco, California, USA.
There is a documentary on Netflix, titled Bathtubs over Broadway, about Steve Young from the Letterman show and his discovery of Industrial Musicals. Jello is featured throughout the doc.
Best giveaway record was Shadows Of Knight "Potato Chip". It was a flexi disc that came in bags of chips in 1966. They were known for doing the more famous version on Gloria, but they have some other banging garage stuff including this one that came in bags of potato chips!
Something tells me these industrial musicals were an inspiration for mel brooks when he made the producer. I mean a one time show that no one is ever gonna see with an insane budget? sounds pretty embezzly to me
my dad was very involved with the kansas bluegrass scene and seeing those mufftars just reminds me of a muffler stand up bass one of his friends had built back in like 2000-2005 @NardwuarServiette
Raveen the impossibilist! Once he made a friend of mine turn into a chicken, and his life was of course shattered. He no longer thinks he has free will, just whatever some guy whispers in his ear.
Narduar: I'm here with Joe- Joe Biden: DiMagg-sorry Come on, Jack. Narduar: Joe Biden, did you once say you didn't want your children to grow up in a racial jungle?
This guy talks a lot but doesn't say much 🤔 really hard to follow this interview. I guess if I knew who he was I would care a little more but I really just come for the serviette
You are enough of a music fan to watch Nardwuar and you are on Part II of the video (45+ minutes in) and you have never heard of Dead Kennedys? No shame in being a hip hop head who knows The Nard through his interviews with mumble rappers and 90s legends, but how did you get this far in the interview? To make a long story short, Jello is one of the Godfathers of American punk music.
Nardwuar's relationship with Jello will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time.
If I ever go missing, I want narduar to come looking for me
Michael: I'm miss...
Nardwuar: Hey buddy

Michael: "How did you know where I..."

Two of my favorite people talking about absolutely priceless things, this makes me jump around, I'm so happy!
Cha Cha with Klaus!
I like the way his incisive, interrogative interviewing technique somehow managed to draw longer answers out of the notoriously tight-lipped Jello.
Because jello is talking about his passion which is collecting records.

I know, I think a sniffle could get Jello going.
@@annonymost9318 yup, conceivably an interview could consist of a brief glance towards him from the interviewer, and last for an hour or two.
My heart broke when Jello said Nard had a stroke..and two of them! :( stay strong Nard. The world needs you! Doot doot!
I love the character break at the beginning as Jello laughs at Nard. So good.

Enjoy seeing NardW quiet and captivated while letting Jello educate

You are a God for doing these Nardwuar.
Love ya Jello, been a fan since I first heard 'kill the poor' on Punk & Disorderly back in the day. Thanks for the great memories my cosmic brother!
jello has opened me to the world of corporate musical records and i will now purchase that pepsi record to have as the start of my collection

Its nice to hear Jello rant about something other than politics!! Good Job Nardwuar!!
jello's shirt is a vibe
Jello, fascinating as always. Nardwaur, a joy, as expected.
I live in San Francisco too.
"And like a good neighbor, Jello is there!"
Wish I could run into him...
Been hoping that for years too. I wonder what neighborhood he lives in? Back in the early 80s he was easy to find....
I could listen to this for hours.
Biafra is so hilarious! What a watch, too funny!
