The container concept or a sentimental bin is another good one. If you only have a certain amount of containers or shelving and the rest doesn't fit, it's time to go. Sorta like the sparks joy concept but with a limit. Then you're not making overthought decisions on every single thing. Makes it easier when people dump inheritances, childhood junk or whatever on you.

I follow my Grandmother’s advice...wear it out, use it up, go without. You gentlemen have keen advice. At 70 I’m proud that I’ve been minimalizing for 20 years. A good thing. Keep up the smart work.

That’s what I am doing now...selling so much of my new hoarded items! If it does not sell in 2 weeks...I then donate or recycle!

I love the idea of "1 In 10 Out." Totally using that!

Me too. It's really making my house less cluttered, & I just started this 1 in 10 out rule A month ago.

The buy nothing and yard sale groups on fb are very useful for this.

I'll be honest, most of the time I'm not getting around to donating so it's hitting the trash and becoming a lesson. If I can't sell it within 2 weeks. If you really want that fresh peaceful minimal feel in every nook and cranny you gotta make hard decisions like businesses do.

I sold a lot of stuff this week, made $550 😎 The rest will be donated. Some stuff is pet related so I’ll be donated it to my local pet shelter as they struggle through the Xmas period.

i get the 7 day timeline, but i definitely have been able to sell after this time have been worth the wait, and i continue to make progress still. i guess i am hung up on sunk cost, but i feel like i am still making progress and i have downsized from a 3 bedroom house to a tiny condo, so i feel its going well! also, my tips are to trade vs sell because it can be faster and i trade for consumables for our pantry or bathroom. if its higher value, sell, lower value, just trade it. it will go faster, and you dont have to grocery shop.

nice topic I was asked to write a particular. paper about recycle is good or bad on Environmental science class. I try my best to write something. I wrote to the professor that recycling is good some time if certain things is out of. good conditions you can try to rebuild it more and make it looks nice or nicer. I personally don't recycle things like that, but I know there are ways to make old things looks like new ones.I am understanding that discussion very well. Thanks guys for such educated videos for us to see and to understand things more.
