A Woman of 40 is considered an old maid in the Philippines, but they are a hot committee to us, and are not entitled. In the west a Woman in her 50s, broke, and huge think they are God gift. No Thanks.
Not entitled? Come on man, they're still women. A 40+ who is still in decent shape is rare. Filipinas do not age well in general. Over 40 is way better in other SE Asia countries. The ones who have their act together will expect a lot from you. She has her house, business and you're there to help her so here's your TO DO list. The ones without their finances straight have had a very hard road. Physical and mental issues. All likely have kids and married. No freaking way I'm getting into that drama. Not saying it isn't possible, but you're getting into needles and hay. How does a woman get past 40 and still not have kids or been married? It's not because she's a joy to live with. I agree 100%. Divorced for 20 years and single is the life for me personally. I am in Bali, Indonesia right now and have been here since August. I will be in SE Asia until May. Honestly, I don’t see me ever settling down again with one woman but that is just me. I have zero drama in my life and I do what I want when I want and I like that. I have dated up to a 34 year age gap (29 year old at the time) and for me personally I don’t care to date another woman under the age of 40 but again, that is just for me.
Drama-free retirement and having plently of time for frequent international travel (adjusting to individual regional rainy seasons) is the name of the game for me 😎🌞✌
Wow Mike what a great pep talk! It seems so many of us men have a strong urge to try to help and take on others responsibilities only to later regret it. Great reminder!
I’ve made 4 trips to the Philippines since 2019, and each time I’ve had someone waiting for me at the airport. It has its benefits, but also its drawbacks. So it depends on what you are looking for, and what your needs are. My first couple of trips I needed sex bad. I had just gotten out of a marriage with the Ice Princess, and she had cut me off in the bedroom the last 5 or 6 years! So in March I’ll be making my first trip over solo. Nobody will be meeting me at the airport, nobody will be staying with me at my AirBNB…It will be a little different for me, but I’m looking forward to the change of pace 👍😂
Depends what age and what generation he is. A man in his 20s and 30s should absolutely stay single. At this stage he is still building his life and still has many options. Most men at retirement age, by contrast, are more settled, have already “been there, done that” and prefer companionship. The mistake I see is when a man moves to a new country with a different culture, and rushes into a relationship when he doesn’t understand the women. Unfortunately way too many men are lonely and desperate. A man in his 50s and 60s should understand how to live in his new country first because women will always be available. There is nothing I can get married that would make me want to do it, especially with the laws in place in the Philippines. I am 63, live in my own place and only see women when I want. Being in a relationship is way too much work.
Great video Mike. And the best part was that you didn't sing at the end and totally ruin the video. Hahaha!!! Just joking. This video is so good I'm going to send it to a few friends and watch it again a few more times. One piece of advice you might also want to give to men with a 'Big Johnson' is to bring your own condoms. The ones they sell in the Philippines are too small. Bring your own Magnum condoms if you're going to do the Wild Thing in the Philly Willie.
Yes, brother, you are correct. So many people to meet and so many beautiful places to experience and visit. Single at first is the way to go no doubt about it ❤️🇵🇭❤️
I agree with you 100% Mike. Come to Asia as a single, look around and find your niche / lifestyle, you deserve it. Think about yourself and be a little selfish and self-centered! Mike, hands down your BEST vlog so far!
You mentioned getting off the plane & leaving your financial problems behind. I like the Chinese proverb: "Leave your problem at the door with your shoes" 🙂🙃
I live in north central Phoenix (decent area). For the past 21 months my total spend for everything has averaged $592.04/mo. Over the past 15 years my house has appreciated an average of almost $2000/mo. Today, if I wanted, I can live in an apartment made in my house which is the size of the typical studio I see in PH videos and rent the main part of my house for $1800-2000/mo. I can buy banana's, eggs, chicken for the same price as I see in PH videos. Thinking SE Asia is cheaper than the US is a myth. The only way it's true is if you factor in dating attractive women who are under 40. That would be hugely expensive in the US. Cost is about how you choose to live.
Hi Mike and Janet ❤️ Great advice Mike so many beautiful women come single. Get boots 🥾 on the ground first. Leave yr burdens behind. And enjoy your freedom. Thanks for the great advice Mike 👍
Agree 100% Single 9 years after loosing my wife, been to South East Asia alone a few times to a few different countries and I am never alone there as I am here at home. No emotional hijinks to navigate and a variety of beautiful, interesting female company.
Commit to yourself and you'll realize you don't have to commit to another person to be happy. One reason I plan to move to SE Asia is to prepare for extreme old age when I need help. A retirement resort looks way better to me than relying on a Filipina. And I can still have a young women living with me in the resort at no extra cost except food. If I ever have a problem with the woman the resort will escort her off the property for me and I still have 24/7 care.
This is true for ANY country you live in. Marriage is for building families mainly. SOCIETY needs families. The problem is back in the states we stay in our rut. You cant meet someone if you stay home all the time lolol Move from chicago to dallas or vice versa shake up your routine.
Well said Brother, well said! I did this 7 years ago, travelled all the islands, met some girls and I finally found the GEM for me. We are here now, loving life and away from the US rat race. PS: Older men traveling from Denver to Kansas City, that was a great line! 🤣🤣Thats like traveling from Ann Arbor to Columbus, now that would be a hoot.
I am 74 and have been to the Philippines twice for a total of 3 months this year. I will going back again soon. I would recommend first finding a location to live in. I have found I don't like the areas with rough roads which could possibly cause future health problems because you get shaken up so much. Example -Near Oslob (South of Cebu), a 20 minute rough road ride on a trike caused 2 days of sore neck muscles. I have found the beautiful beach pictures are not near homes with western conveniences and the better healthcare options of the big cities. Personally I am going to limit myself to the areas with Grab (a version of Uber) because of the rough road problem and I would have problems with a motorcycle (like in the rains and healing from accidents). I am lucky that my 51 year old girl friend has grown children and is not locked into a location and is willing to search with me. I would recommend to be careful about getting emotional involved early (which 90% of us do), because it clouds your judgement.
Halfway through this video, Mike. I should arrive Cebu early January. Widower 61 years young. Been in Mexico, most of the last two years. Loved it Vietnam a few months this year. I have been with a few women since I lost my wife three years ago. All good woman. Some with money some without. My last was without. I did not mind. I did not realize how much I was giving her until I went over everything this past week. Wow.! Yes I think I will stay single for a little while longer. 🤭
Glad you realized. Well done Brother. Almost all expat Tubers seem delusional on costs. I here Tubers say how cheap bananas are in PH and I'm paying less or same here in Phoenix. Don't think they're tracking anything.
@@waterbug1135 not everything is less money overseas. But I have only been to Vietnam and Mexico, of course both much less than America. I am interested in Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. I am not certain I will see them all this year coming but certainly they are much less expensive than Boston mass USA. I have only been doing this for 2 1/2 years but one thing I can say for certain I spend more money when I return to America.. much more. I would have never noticed if I had never left..
Great advice Mike Thank you. I spent a few weeks in Cebu City earlier this year had a great time and great memories, and you are right the ladies were approaching me just about everywhere, I made some very good friends there i still communicate with them even to this day, I have no plans to return to Philippines I now live in US and Mexico, I can honestly say that I had the time of life in the Philippines. I am 72 years old and widowed and trying to enjoy the remaining years. Thank you Mike and Thank you Janet. Rudy G. 😊
I have been to Thailand many times and had part time GF's. But it is so inexpensive to have boom boom with young (over 18) pretty girls when needed and variety. Much more picky when looking for a GF because more options.
Every time I hear about somebody saying how great it is to be single. But then comes to holidays, and those same people are complaining of how bored they are sitting all by themselves.. I’m not saying there aren’t people out there that prefer to be by themselves. But the majority, whoever they are would rather have someone there to enjoy life together.. generally when I talk to someone who sitting by themselves. Wish someone was there who they could enjoy life with.
Too late, already found my love of my life. Am married in the US and in the Philippines. Going to be a great retirement if ever I get to the Philippines. Good video, Mike...Jim
Agree 100%, look over the country, date a lot of ladies but don’t settle for the First Lady you meet. There are lots of women in Philippines. Take your time, and really enjoy yourself and the single life
It may be best to stay single and just rent them as needed. As a single guy, you can avoid the financial obligations, the emotional drama and keep your freedom.
Having a great girlfriend when you come to the philippines can help you acclimate and learn to navigate the culture and political atmosphere in the philippines. Having a girlfriend is different from being married, so don't treat her as such. They say that the first girl that you meet may not necessarily be the girl you end up with, so don't get too serious and enjoy the experience. Every woman is going to have some form of baggage or drama because that is just part of who they are as we already know. Learning to set boundaries and being honest about your personal agendas is important as if she decides to go in a different direction, you can repeat what you have already told her and give her the ultimatum. Take control of the situation and always remember that this is your retirement and your pension is not free money to hand out.
A local starter local girlfriend is nice to guide us thru the racism, language barrier and scams. Just know the relationship is temporary. House keepers can also help with this especially if she goes home every night.
I'm almost there, can't wait, single and ready for the new challenges... I think it will be awesome! Actually, looking most forward to all the travel opportunities... Thanx Mike
Not trying to be a d*ck but I'd see that as a red flag. I was the same when I first learned about women in other countries. Filipinas looked like over the rainbow great. Slowly after watching many expat YT channels for years now the bloom is off the rose. Filipinas are just women and come with all the same issues as back in the US. Not saying that's bad. But if I'd gone there back then, all excited, I would have made a mess of it. I'm planning to move to SE Asia next year, but am not looking forward to it. IMO that's a way better place for my head. No longer focused on just PH. No longer would even consider a single mom. I'm going for the adventure and to prepare for my extreme old age. Where once I thought a Filipina would make a good long term caregiver I'm now much more interested in resort retirement companies. But I get saying this to an excited guy falls on deaf ears... so enjoy.
@waterbug1135 Yeahboy, great gouge... Eh - I actually have no problems getting women, they've always come easy in my life... Really just excited that I'm mid 50, get to retire and excited about all the possibilities... Retired military, retired early civil service so think monies going to be better overseas... Actually, if I stay Stateside realistically, I'd have to keep working... The US really sucks to retire, just a rat race... Going overseas brings so many possibilities and getting to know other parts of the world is exciting... I'm a 5x combat vet, hard to leave something behind I fought so hard for and has been home all my life, but man, I'm looking forward to the break... Me personally, if I wanted to go just for the women, man South America is the place... Probably will learn Spanish at some point, that's the real place to be for women... Probably be heading there soon, the Philippines is just my first stop... Mostly because the money thing is a lot better than the US... Altho not really an overseas thing but Hawaii would be awesome to retire too, but you'd have to be Elon Musk or something, ridiculous man... Anyways, always greatful for the awesome advice... Mike's content about the Philippines is always great, this is what really pushed me to make the Philippine leap first, shows much more than just the women factor... Later Bro
I think you're sadly right. As much as we are dying for the perfect girl when we arrive, we're best to stay on our own and do a little dating here and there. No-stress to feel it out
Be careful being single if you get sick and get admitted to a hospital you are going to need someone with you 24/7. The STD and AIDs in the Philippines is serious business. I will stick with my Philipina I had my fair share of ladies back in my teens and twenties. Was married 35 years and now a widower with a great Filipina
Absolutely! I'm twice retired (three times if you count SS) and have plenty of money to make a nice life for some woman. The trouble is that there aren't any that are worth the candle anymore! Not that I can find, anyway. I do what I want when I 99.99% of the time, and it's very, very hard to consider giving that up. Mmm-hmm.
Mike, yes I think it would be better to just get over there and settled down. Get used to how things are over there then you can start looking for a woman
hey handsome grandpa phil is paradise if you have 2k dollar per month. in your country you're a beggar and homeless with that amount and will die alone in a nursing home. your country no longer a nice place to live muslims and illegal immigrants already destroyed the culture. get a pnay partner old man and live forever with her romance. you have only one life grandpa
It’s best to stay Single period here in SE Asia. I want to enjoy my Freedom and it’s better to just pick up a Fish every Weekend then Release em. Don’t care what others may think about that but you will enjoy yourself more and save a lot of money and unwanted Drama and Stress.
Lol. So why are you not single? So many of you vloggers push tha idea to be single, and surprise, you are in a fixes relationship. So be honest, do you wish you were single again? Did you make a mistake? Are you going bad advice? Im not calling you a hypocrite, here Im just saying that you should kook in the mirror and understand better the dynamics at play, and why so many guys that preach single life, like you, are NOT single Just an observation Good luck always, Mike
@wpop2590 Many peeps talk about being single. The guys who are azzholes should probably stay single in the Philippines. Its kind of hard to stay single if you are a nice guy and you would like to find a soulmate. No divorce in the Philippines so it is easy to hook up with a girl for life if you want to. Was single long enough and knew I wanted a wife. Just none to choose from in the US. Just saying it is pretty common for guys coming to the Philippines that want to stay single, until they meet a great woman.
Mike one thins you did mention is responsibility. As a single guy dating you have only yourself,to think and worry about. Start a relationship and now you have a woman, her child maybe and most likely her family needing “something”
Agree, single, for financial reasons. My relationship shelf life has expired so definitely remaining single. But still can look, just old, not dead (yet)😂
Again, an inspirational video. I think it would be great to follow up with a video about sexual health in PI. A single man might easily lose his head over multiple women, and with exposure comes danger. Pinay are not great on donning the latex armor. If a woman gives it up with haste, a wise man may pause to wonder about the mileage on the motor he's turning on. How easy is it to find a clinic for those moments where a man suspects he might have had a bit too much fun, and needs maintenance on the ignition key. That sort of thing. PI is one of the few countries in the world where HIV is actually on the rise. Be careful out there guys.
Hi Mike, hope you are doing well. We haven't heard about Paul long time. I read that he quit smoking. He did after many adviced him to stop. They are very ignorant. If you meet him please tell him from doktor Chocolate Cookie to start smoking again. His body cannot handle it to stop smoking, the transition is too stressful for his older body. But I do strongly recommend him not to smoke the American brands because those cigarettes are stuffed with chemicals added to the tobacco. And it is the chemicals that causes most harm. If there are Filipino brands available that are more pure then he can smoke those. Okay, now I will watch your video.
@@mikesphilippineretirement I already did but no reply thats why I reached out to you because you are his friend. But I see you are not interested to respond so now I am very dissapointed in you. Last time I come here
For me it's the opposite. Being in a committed relationship is less draning for me because my wife does a lot and actually she's the one who built our budget template. It depends on the Filipina you got. Problem is most guys go for a really poor girl who always needs help, for my wife she elevates my life and make it less stressful.
IMO it depends on the guy. I know a lot of guys who say they're very happy in their relationship and to me it looks like a nightmare. They get disrespected and don't even seem to notice. Totally cool if that floats your boat. And yeah, can happen, but that's no guarantee it will continue. People change. I've watched this happen on several YT channels. One is going on right now. Dude married a Filipina, had a kid, he buys her land, built a house and as soon as house was finished she's out with his daughter. He's now hiring a lawyer just to try and see his daughter. Wife appeared in many videos and I never saw her even smile. She looked like see hated this guy. But he said the whole time how happy they were and how perfect his wife was. He felt blindsided. Not saying that's you. There are happy long term relationships. Kind of rare though and it takes both parties to be at least a little delusional.
@@waterbug1135There’s more to that story like he wouldn’t allow her 2 sons from a previous relationship to live with them. He introduced them as her brothers to his YT audience. Now he’s crying foul. He made his choices by knowingly marrying a young woman with 2 kids he didn’t fully accept, now he wonders why she left? As for the land, he didn’t buy the land he leased it.
If you are on just social security roughly 1500 to 2000 a month, I'd say yea. Gotta have the dough for pay to play. Ain't nothing is free doesn't matter how cheap it is
My expected budget will be $5900/mo USD with a large reserve for medical. IMO I have much more to lose so staying single is even more important. At under $2k a Filipina might not be a bad choice for long term care like when a guy gets into their 80's and 90's. Risky, but reasonable. But imo retirement resorts are a way better option for guys with the budget. Beautiful grounds and villas. 24/7 care with medical on site. Generator backed up power. Twice a week cleaning, weekly bedding change. Great meals on site including Western type food. Transportation into town. If you need to go to the hospital they supply a nurse to be at your side the entire time. Cost a little more, like $1000-1500/mo for the basic. Then $2000-5000/mo for total care. 24/7 nurse by your side. Seems like a more secure path. These guys getting with single mom Filipinas are getting drained. No big deal when the kids are under 5. But later the expenses pile up and they start complaining. Then their health starts declining and there's no money for that.
@@waterbug1135 Where and whats the name of these "retirement resorts"? Never heard of them before and thought there wasn't any in the Philippines. Thank you.
I prefer single unless I find a compatible match with a Filipina in her 20's or early 30's. That might be hard to find at my age as I don't need the hassle with someone that is not a true match.
Met my Filipina wife when she was 36 and I was 49. She had no kids, never married and very sexy. It may be hard to find an older woman, but they are there. My wife didn't want anything to do with Filipina men, so very easy for Filipinas to be attracted to a foreigner.
I would agree when you first get to the Philippines.. slow down a little bit and take your time and get to know the girl first. Those moments at the beginning can be so memorable.. and enjoyable. When you start to put together a picture scrapbook.. because then you could relive those same moments over and over again.
I can't help but disagree. I think men need to learn some respect and not be sex tourists, following such bad advice. Screwing around will only see abuse and spreading of disease between decent and cheap Filipinas. Try to show some restraint and respect of the country. 🙄🙄

Rudy G. 😊

11:10 "I go with you!" Hilarious. Just arrived in PH and so glad I'm single......for now anyway. Good video, Mike.
thanks for watching
I have been to Thailand many times and had part time GF's. But it is so inexpensive to have boom boom with young (over 18) pretty girls when needed and variety. Much more picky when looking for a GF because more options.

Guys, the US Dollar = 58.5 pesos right now. That's tremendous purchasing power here! Mike can corroborate.
it is and I have
Regardless of exchange rate, you still need average $2500 month to live comfortably here
Yes the exchange rate is good. And you still hear "Sorry sir, out of stock".
Might be 58.8 pesos to the dollar, but you sure need a lot of them even for the essentials. The Philippines is not cheap anymore.

You can do it! Jim Thanks for your support
I find it's great being single, especially during football season. 😅
hahaha
Agree 100%, look over the country, date a lot of ladies but don’t settle for the First Lady you meet. There are lots of women in Philippines. Take your time, and really enjoy yourself and the single life
well said
Mike what is a good website online no scammers?
need to be careful maybe Christian Filipina Only dating website I would recommend to meet Filipinas: christianfilipinadating.com/mikeph-yt-video-3
It may be best to stay single and just rent them as needed. As a single guy, you can avoid the financial obligations, the emotional drama and keep your freedom.
freedom is found in many forms

House keepers can also help with this especially if she goes home every night.
hmmmm Starter girlfriend
But I get saying this to an excited guy falls on deaf ears... so enjoy.
So close! you can do it. Travel and enjoy
@waterbug1135
Yeahboy, great gouge...
Later Bro

Be careful being single if you get sick and get admitted to a hospital you are going to need someone with you 24/7. The STD and AIDs in the Philippines is serious business. I will stick with my Philipina I had my fair share of ladies back in my teens and twenties. Was married 35 years and now a widower with a great Filipina
good to hear....really you worry about AIDs???
@ I actually had a Filipina bring the subject up, she said it’s a major problem and to avoid sleeping around. I don’t want any STD’s

Nonsense.
So will 1500 American dollars suffice in the Philippine monthly with 160000 in retirement account? Anybody please respond
It’s best to stay Single period here in SE Asia.

Lol. So why are you not single?
So many of you vloggers push tha idea to be single, and surprise, you are in a fixes relationship.
So be honest, do you wish you were single again?
Did you make a mistake?
Are you going bad advice?
Im not calling you a hypocrite, here
Im just saying that you should kook in the mirror and understand better the dynamics at play, and why so many guys that preach single life, like you, are NOT single
Just an observation
Good luck always, Mike
@wpop2590 Many peeps talk about being single. The guys who are azzholes should probably stay single in the Philippines. Its kind of hard to stay single if you are a nice guy and you would like to find a soulmate. No divorce in the Philippines so it is easy to hook up with a girl for life if you want to. Was single long enough and knew I wanted a wife. Just none to choose from in the US.
Just saying it is pretty common for guys coming to the Philippines that want to stay single, until they meet a great woman.
I spoke to that in the video
@@wpop2590 they are all simps, suckers....they pay, pay ,pay😂😂😂
If you meet a woman anywhere in the Philippines do not tell her you are going to travel they will invite themselves!!!!
I really enjoyed yesterday's video. Very informative. 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
Mike one thins you did mention is responsibility. As a single guy dating you have only yourself,to think and worry about. Start a relationship and now you have a woman, her child maybe and most likely her family needing “something”
you need to make sure your ok first
Agree, single, for financial reasons. My relationship shelf life has expired so definitely remaining single. But still can look, just old, not dead (yet)😂

I'm looking forward to being single again and trying out this advice. Video needs more singing :)

Be careful out there guys.
someone should do that if they have a medical background
Hey Mike
As far as finances, I’ll be retiring with
with something I hope
@@mikesphilippineretirement lol I left a lot out my friend. Been contemplating the move for awhile. I retire in 2 years
Hi Mike, hope you are doing well.
Okay, now I will watch your video.
thanks for your comment but you should comment on his channel or Baby Mae's channel
@@mikesphilippineretirement I already did but no reply thats why I reached out to you because you are his friend. But I see you are not interested to respond so now I am very dissapointed in you. Last time I come here
Honest it s more fun to be 2
It's a matter of time and how much you think you've got.
very true
@waterbug1135 i see. But a lot of times the horror stories are the man's fault. Because we give access to relationships and marriage
Thank you.
Why buy the book when you can join the library ❤❤❤😂😂😂😮😮😊😊😊
I prefer single unless I find a compatible match with a Filipina in her 20's or early 30's. That might be hard to find at my age as I don't need the hassle with someone that is not a true match.
There's no such thing as a match long term. People change.
Met my Filipina wife when she was 36 and I was 49. She had no kids, never married and very sexy. It may be hard to find an older woman, but they are there. My wife didn't want anything to do with Filipina men, so very easy for Filipinas to be attracted to a foreigner.
Never had stress where I am in Perth Australia.
never?????????????
Not the way you put it. Maybe simple things..
Why live in dumagette with the brownouts and being in the middle of nowhere if your always running to cebu.
Is it ro talk to other Americans 😂
I run to Cebu once every few months...Depends I talk to my friends
Why take a sandwich to a banquet
IDK
I would agree when you first get to the Philippines.. slow down a little bit and take your time and get to know the girl first. Those moments at the beginning can be so memorable.. and enjoyable. When you start to put together a picture scrapbook.. because then you could relive those same moments over and over again.

I can't help but disagree. I think men need to learn some respect and not be sex tourists, following such bad advice. Screwing around will only see abuse and spreading of disease between decent and cheap Filipinas. Try to show some restraint and respect of the country. 🙄🙄
