god, the mission this is in is so perfect. this track playing as you assemble your forces, and are commanded to assist the battle. Really feels like you're playing your part in a tense skirmish...only to be forgotten by the praise of the Hiigaran fleet.

@@Bratjuuc this is my guess upon all of the informations trailers provided, it was long time ago but there was something about hiigaran models fighting hiigaran ones, also come on, making big galactic imperium and now new portal to new possibilities is open? how can there be no civil war?
@@wojszach4443 the official HW encyclopedia site sez it will likely be about hyperspace gates failing, which makes Aaran's Eye appearance relevant. Maybe it would be much more interesting, if the Dust Wars story was resurrected, but who knows
I remember spending a long time trying to figure out how to extract the music files from this game just to find this track. It's too bad it's so short.
This game was my second played game in my life, and was the first one from the homeworld franchise. Seeing the battle unfold with this theme going in the background was just majestic. I got hooked on homeworld after this. Its a shame that we don't have books with lore of this masterpiece of a franshise.
Cataclysm was my first Homeworld too… back in the days when games came on a cd with an outer box big enough to hold a couple of vhs tapes. Although I fell in love with deserts of Kharak this is still my favourite. I love the story, the art style, the voice acting and the gameplay. This track began, not only the game, but for me the franchise with a bang.
I know people have been debating on the style of music that HW3 should follow (HW2 vs HW1) but tbh, if HW3 has a track on the same level as this, i'd be so down for it

When Relic released sources for HW1 i reverse engineered it and extracted all models and textures
