Of all the Homeworld games, Cataclysm is my favourite, dark, epic story, twists and turns, wormholes and the story was played from the pov of miners not military ships
This was the first Homeworld game I played on PC. Barking Dog Studios (now Rockstar Vancouver) made a masterpiece. I really hope a remake is made with the Homeworld Remastered Engine, even if the original source code is lost.
I love the way the song transforms from original to cover, adding instruments to slowly become the cover rather than starting out as one. This is very well executed.
I come back to this constantly. The overwhelming Tide of bullshit that this world can throw at me. Kind of like your own personal cataclysm. You have to face the beast yourself. This song is kind of my personal representation of my battle. Or at least the theme song.
Imagine a game of that quality getting shipped as a free promo now. Gameplay, story, atmosphere, music like that? Something half as brilliant and novel would be shipped today as an incomplete game for $60 and require DLC to fix.
Homeworld 3.5: The Beast Returns Kindoff a DOK and CAT spinoff So here's how the game starts, in campaign mode, A cutscene plays where it explains that there was a minor wave of beast ships incoming, The Kuun-Lan and the Faal-Corum now refitted to protect Higaara, after a fierce battle, Faal-Corum recieved heavy damage as well as for Kuun-Lan, however a small remnant of an escape pod or "the beast" manages to land on Higaara in an area full of crashed and old ships as well as a derilect carrier dar away from civilization, unknowingly to them, a Kiith Somtaaw support carrier is routed towards the beast crash site, the carrier, having spotted the beast in it's new form, had to call in Kuun-Lan to beam it from low earth orbit however, Kuun-Lan was unable to fire the Ion cannon nor the siege cannon due to a power surge caused by damaged wiring, when the support carrier having no choice as there were no other ships built at the time to handle the beast, had to follow the steps of Kuun-Lan to avoid Higaara being taken over, during this, Mothership 3 returns from it's journey and Mothership 2 and 1 having teamed up, decided to reverse engineer the Kuun-Lan's salvaged Siege cannon. (The Bentusi are gone) however, due to old tech, Mothership 1 (refitted for war operation) suffers from power failure and crashes into Higaara, now loosing one of their chances to research old tech, the support carrier is now tasked to build a reusable rocket to use for salvaging old research tech from crash sites, junkyards and M1 while also being tasked with fending off the beast using assistance from 5 other support carriers.
I doubted this game after finishing homeworld 1 thinking it was just some kind of spin off, played and holy shit i liked everything about this game, you're not like a huge army thing but just some miners, discovering an alien pod which turns out to have some kind of organism inside, and ending up releasing it, also love how like 20 acolytes literally could cripple or destroy a heavy cruiser with its missiles, those sure are good strike crafts.
Wow, Awesome cover! As a Homeworld fan, covers like these are an awesome addition to the fanbase material! Oh, also, “Somtaaw’s children were known to one and all… As Beast Slayers.”
Hey there, I just happened to pass by during my search for some ost of the game. I thought a rock cover would be kinda overwelming and ruin the song, but you found a nice way for the instruments to support the original melody. I must admit that it fits quite well, probs to you! Shame that a lot of people missed this amazing game back in the days (including myself, damn'd).

I LOVED this game! It's a tragedy they lost the source code

kinda like the kuun-lan itself, starting from a meager mining vessel to a full blown warship.

Just wanted everyone to know... the beast has been slain today. A big one.
Homeworld Catacylsm was my first pc game, the cd came with the cereals i used to breakfast. Such a disgrace how a magnificent game was lost in time.

This is perfect for Homeworld: Cataclysm 2

Amazing tribute! It truly captures the struggle and adversity of Kiith Somtaaw during the events of Cataclysm

The Beast Slayers return for Homeworld 3.
Sweet baby inc killed'em. There is no hope! Run!
No, they did not, and we can all be so grateful for that.
I won't ever forgive them for what they did to HW3. I am never buying a copy of that trash.

Awesome cover!
Love this
Lovely ! This track is my favorite OST ever !
This should be the anthem of the Space Force
Very nice cover!
I have this game on disc. And the worst thing is that no computer will accept it as working. Guess i'll have to get Emergence.
BEast slayers!!!!
This reminds me of Doom 3. It works very well.
