      @ Trey I’m in Colorado and since 2008 I’ve been fishing in our Colorado mountains for trout! I love it each week we would travel to a different lake spend the whole day there making amazing memories! Last year in January I was home from work during my recovery from surgery watching fishing videos. Kayak bass fishing came up on my TH-cam channel and I was undeniably hooked! Than creek, river for panfishing videos appeared and I was saying to myself, “what have I been missing.” Now I can’t stop watching them lol! Thank you sir have a blessed day.

      Thank you brother! I was a little surprised that they were that active last Saturday, but that kind of showed me they will bite on colder days if you get it close to them. Weird thing is, the LM were active but the smallies were shut down.

      @ actually I have not fished there yet. Been too busy with the business day to day stuff and construction of my new place and my parents. I will definitely be hitting it this year. Got some new bed rigs to try in that creek.

      Thank you Mr. Houston! I figured that snow would make for a scenic view. It was pretty out there, but my feet were numb after standing in that water for 2 hours...but it was still fun. I hope you are doing well brother.

      @fishsmack  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for stopping by. I greatly appreciate that. I have tried the Stones River a couple time during winter (both East & West). Last year was tough, but the water levels were really low there, but I did good 2 years ago when the water levels were higher. Do you wade or kayak?

    • @pjpucci
      @pjpucci 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@fishsmack I wade and I use my inflatable raft and trolling motor. Lots of fun and its 15 to 30 mintues from my home. I invested in winter gear so I can get out there in comfort. You are a great motivation to get ouit there. I apprecaite the informatinoas it it more regionally dialed in for my goals.

    Ok we've talked on the phone we both fish this particular creek it's rare since I've been fishing this exact area for the last 4-5 years you've caught the most largies I've ever saw come from our fishing grounds it's usually all smallies. Great upload Trey

    • @fishsmack
      @fishsmack  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you Mr. Chris. You're right, it was very unusual for sure, and they were also schooled together. I only caught 1 smallie in that same pocket. It was like the smallies were shut down that day.

    Can you tell me what waders you are wearing for this weather. Thank you

    • @fishsmack
      @fishsmack  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I'm not waring winter waders, Kenny. LOL! Mine are just BassDash Waders for summer, but I wear insulated pants and wool socks under my waders. It helps, but I still get cold if I'm not walking.

  • @JohnHolmes-g1q

    I know you’ve mentioned brand and action but what length rod are you using?

    • @fishsmack
      @fishsmack  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have a 5'6" and a 6'2". I prefer the shorter rod, because it's easier hiking through the woods with it. That's just my personal preference.

    • @fishsmack
      @fishsmack  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Another side note, Kevin my rod build knows that I prefer the shorter rod length, so he selected a fishing rod blank (RainShadow), due to it having more backbone than some of the other rod blanks on the market.

    • @JohnHolmes-g1q
      @JohnHolmes-g1q 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@fishsmack that was what I was curious about bc most of the box store ultras are pretty flimsy

    • @fishsmack
      @fishsmack  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You are absolutely correct, plus a lot of them have too few of guides to distribute the load down the rod. I have 10 guides on my shorter rod and 11 on the 6'2".
