Watching Coyote get super excited about every creature he comes across, no matter how small, never fails to make me feel happy. His smile is infectious.
I LOVE praying mantises, when I was little I saw one, so my dad picked it up to show me and i wanted to keep it so bad that he said that if it was there in the next 3 days we could keep it. (He said that because he knew it probably wouldn't be there and he didn't want to upset me) but 3 days later it was still there. So we kept in a cage ment for snakes, ( btw the only reason we kept it was because winter was coming and wanted to help it plus it was pretty young so she was with us basically her whole life) we fed it live bugs every day so that way it still knew how to hunt. And it actually grew to like us it would even crawl on my face and hair😅 and every day after school my parents would put on our curtains and have me find it we absolutely loved her but almost a 2 years later she layed eggs and then she died sadly😔😭, we even dug her a grave RIP cornelia I miss you! Anyway just thought I'd share that story since coyote loves praying mantises as much as I do.😊
When I was a kid I caught a mantis and it lived with me for a few days, two days or three. I was little but I remembered that they love eating flies, so I went on getting some, tearing their wings and after that i fed the mantis. I had to highlight the fly with my little laser toy so the mantis would pay attention and grab the “food”. After a few days as I sad, my mantis had died, because he was stuck in his own skin. He tried to change it like snakes do, and i realized that although he died, he would have had wings in the new apparel. I don’t know why he got stuck in there, ind he was in there by his own for the whole day when this happened, so i wasn’t interrupting him. This is it, i just wanted to share the story of my pet mantis, thank you)
You need to mist the container it's in to keep the environment humid with the moisture so it can soften the skin during its molt. I've raised a lot of mantis already and each one needs a different humidity
I have once saved a praying mantis from a swarm of ants that were atttacking it. I blew the ants away and picked up the mantis by a leaf and let it go on a tree, surprisingly it was alive!
Yep just going to find an alien in space going to talk about it in a video nothing's too special it's just an alien that looks just like a praying mantis not like praying mantis are aliens from outer space and they just are aliens secretly!
That's actually not entirely true. They very rarely cannibalize their mates. When scientists studied mantis mating behavior, they did it in enclosed habitats where the males were less likely to escape.
Help me Help you 173845 because someone actually knows something and shares a fact or truth about something it annoys you...? Are you trying to stay uneducated or enjoy being a dumbed down human.
Hey coyote, you should try finding the brittle starfish! They are on the coast of California .They are usually found in groups together. They are in low tide water or shallow pools. They hide in there only because their drawn by decaying organic matter, which is a favorite food to them. However the groups can include other animals.grab the same water their in because they hate when the temperature of their water changes. They are not poisonous so you don't need to worry about that.

Am I the only one that finds them so cute when they stare at you with those funny little eyes? Also if I’m not mistaken, they’re the only insect that has pivotal head so they can turn their heads and look over at you to the side. So they can look left, right, up, and down too like a human can. Plus, the domesticated ones grow up to be loyal to you... they know you’re their owner and would wait for you to feed them like pets do. When they’re nymphs (babies), they run around super fast and lashes out a lot but when they’re older, they’re more calm and you can pick them up very easily and they just look up at you with their cute buggy eyes. Love mantids, mine always loves watching tv or videos on my phone. The contrast of colors attract their attention.
Well... they dont always eat the males.... but... A good thing about the canibalism is that the female will have some extra protein for producing the eggs. ^^
A preying mantis landed on my head and it made me scream. Another one floor inside and landed on my pillow. Then one flew towards me while I was outside icing my shins They smell fear
