Hope this install video serves you all well and shows you some of the ins and outs of an intake install on a MK8 Golf R! Stay tuned, our part 2 video of this series comes out next wednesday and we will see how the intake and intercooler, along with the stage 1+ tune performs on the dyno and in the 1/4 mile!
Great video. If you had only one choice between an Intake upgrade or a stage 1 tune, in your opinion, which is the better bang for your buck? My goal is to have my mk8 GTI efficient as possible.
Hard to answer! For those that put lots of milage on their cars - keeping the factory warranty can be an important cost saver (or at least peace of mind), and an intake will usually not cause any issues on this platform, so you only receive the benefit of more intake noise, etc! If you aren't worried about the warranty (as these have been proven to be very reliable, well built engines), then a tune will absolutely give you way more benefits, including more power, responsiveness, fuel milage, etc! For us - an intake is usually on the car as soon as it gets home from the dealership! Tuning may happen right away as well, but typically we know we want to go stage 2 or above, so we may wait until we install supporting mods for that. With Unitronic, you can actually purchase stage 2 with a flash cable, flash stage 2 onto the car, and then flash back down to stage 1 if desired! As of today (10/7/2024), Unitronic is having their Boost Season sale, which is on their software, so now may be the perfect time for you to go for it! Just keep in mind, with tuning, you may need an upgraded clutch or transmission tune to match!
@BMPTuning sorry they made a new r600 that fits both cars or they made anew unitronic that fits both cars? I prefer the look of the unitronic, I also like the ams induction kit. Typical I'm in engalnd and both seem produced in usa. Cheers

Excited for the numbers, because I'll be copying this exact set up lol
Looks great, thanks for putting this install video together. Looking forward to the results! 😁
"with a little bit of ease" *as his forearm veins pop out* 💪🏻😂
'tis but a minor difficulty
Lets go new VID!

@@BMPTuning thank you for the detailed feedback.
I am not handy at all but your video is so well done that I think I might be able to do it myself 😅thank you
You got this!!
Very nice, what HP do you gain and some before and after dyno results on all the up grades would be nice.
There is a video of all of that on our page, would be during Part 2 of the R build!
Needs nice CF engine cover to match.
haha there are def. some nice ones available for it!
Needs a sound check :)
*makes noises with mouth*
I think the GOlf R mk8 is about 69 db, after instaling this how many db will it add?
We dont use DB readers, but it is def. louder than stock.
I was looking at racing line r600 for my mk7R and noticed its listed as fitting tje mk7&mk8 would this intake fit the mk7? Thanks
They made a new version that fits both cars, yup yup!

@@dragonclubracing8669 Oh sorry, Unitronic's intake is specific to the MK7 - check it out on our site :D www.bmptuning.com
Definitely do not recommend putting in the rubber sockets without a lube of some sort….my fingers hurt now lol
Haha yeah we quickly realized that was much needed 😂
@@BMPTuningMan the intake should include the longer coolant hose. Now I gotta order one):
@@zeeb2014 weird, our factory one fit just fine!
@@BMPTuningThe reroute hose? My stock one is really stretched when I put it on. I just ordered the reroute one anyways
So you have to have that extra reroute hose?
Music so fucking annoying
cover your ears - hope this helps!
