    Looks like it's about time to do some trophy shark fishing as well 😂
    Less giant sharks means more giant marlin.

      I agree and believe it might have even been the world record. He didn’t show the difference in the two heads which would have been a lot better gage but judging the bills alone it would seem that first fish was way larger. I don’t think a fish weighing 200 pounds more would have a bill twice as thick. My guess is that fish was at least 450-600 pounds larger. The craziest thing is thinking about the size of the shark that could remove the whole body of a fish that large. The shark was probably 18ft or more, the GBR must hold some of the largest fish on the planet.

      @marcus larwa mate just the thought that there was a shark big enough to completely munch that fish is f@rkn terrifying and awesome at the same time haha

    What could have done that? Obviously the white shark is the go to suspect. That shark had to be enormous to bite the head off such an incredibly huge Blackmarlin. Scary to say the least.

    Now it’s not so fresh, I would love to hear your estimate on the weight! And any expert guesstimates there has been based on measurements?

    • @marcuslarwa9098
      @marcuslarwa9098 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that was a recorded braking fishing. Just judging the difference in the bill is pretty telling. The world record is 1506 pounds and that bill was twice the size off a fish that weighed 1000 pounds. I think estimating that fish in the 1400-1600 pound range wouldn’t be a stretch at all.

    I remember as a kid watching the dvd of this, I’d personally say that Marlin that was sharked was at least 1200 pounds.

    I get that it’s a lot of fun and must provide a huge boost of adrenaline, but it’s about time to really consider releasing every Marlin you catch. This weighing in for the clients isn’t really a great thing to do. I’m not a killjoy but that first Marlin had lived for a long time and got past a lot of natural dangers. And then it died because of fishing and had little to do with Nature. And incidentally I love fishing.

      99% of billfish caught in Australia are released. They only keep potential record breakers. Very sustainable practice. It’s the longliners in other parts of the world that rape and pillage everything, not the Australian recreational billfishers.
