Matt has a tradition of taking his son Shaw fishing on his birthday, and for Shaw’s 18th the
pair camp out on Matt’s boat for the weekend with big plans to catch some fish for the table
and tick off a big fish Shaw has been after for years. But the ocean throws up a surprise
triple strike that creates chaos on the boat.

Don’t worry bro even know his turning 18 he might have a 1-2 year hiatus but he’ll back once he gets in his 20s once the passions there it never dies. Same thing I did with my dad once I turned 18 gave it a rest then once I got my missus settled in I never missed a trip nothing better then father son bonding by fishing bro. That’s when you really realise your dad is your one true best mate.

Enjoy those times mate. You have turned a boy into a man. I have been jealous of him every since he fought and caught that big sword. ( My bucket list fish) my boy and I still get a fishing trip and a hunt in every yr but like you said time together is less and less. Mako , Marlin , Mahi seems like a perfect birthday trip to me. Can't give you enough thumbs up.

So not to tell a pro how to fish but ! In my experience with mahi-mahi here in Australia is their just like sheep no joke intended 😂but they follow each other! Meaning if you leave one hooked up up but in the water and start chopping up pilchards or Berley up and throwing over they hang under the boat!,,

about 12 NM, but have caught them only a mile out before.
