Hey how far down the east coast of the south island do you catch snapper? I'm in Dunedin and would love to get onto some.
Right time of year (summer) out of Harrington point. They catch kingies there now. The odd snapper. With climate change now you may start to see a lot more snapper come down

Interesting how there are snapper in Norfolk Island there’s a highway the snapper follow from New Zealand to Australia maybe Norfolk is the retirement village for old snapper! I really hope they release these big snapper. They are ancient to reach that size and the breeding potential Immense. Side note : that 40pounder in the photo doesn’t have the big Aussie knob that big Aussie snapper have. So it must be a kiwi snapper 🤪
