Xperia phones seems to be a professional grade build and looks, stock ui and much more original itself, while iphone seems it can be blend to the crowd itself because there are so many ios like android phones out there especially chinese ones
No corner cutting display, No Ugly Holes, Long lasting Battery, 3.5mm Jack, Front stereo speaker, SDXC support... all these still same ip rating. Sony clearly a win

Stop using the auto mode for videos and pictures because you know you're gonna complain about how iPhone is over all a better quality for any videos and pictures; whether night mode or not. Sony is still a win for me.

I think Sony can go brighter because of that FHD+ display. They don't need to push too much pixels so they could go brighter. Wished it could go dimmer still tho 😂
On Xperia you must tap on screen to set AF point becaus this is the place where will be Exposore (AE) area measured. Xperia has set wide AF area because it is calibrated to photos of pets, children and fast moving objects. This why you need to "told" hardware where is the AE (Exposore) point.
xperia has much better hardware for professionals and iphone is for the average person mostly. although even for the average person other androids like from samsung are far better with options for all budgets.
iphones camreas are basically good bc of software enhancement . after all sony does sell apple the sensors so idk why sony lacks in some aspects when i auto mode other than software
When your competitor offers 4K@120fps on a higher DPI HDR screen you cannot ask for the same amount of money…The 1080p the Xperia offers is the Debbie Downer for me.
This, I understand. But also - I think it's a big reason for why the battery lasts so long. Would happily trade a bit of battery life for a QHD resolution panel though..
Can't tell the pixels apart on the xperia myself, haven't been playing too much with it but videos look really nice. I've had 4k sony oled flagships before but 1080p on this small a screen is good enough for me these days. When you compare 4k on my 75" tv... maaaan that looks messy within half a meter xD
Sony just need to use better sensor for the telephoto camera, wider lens for the ultrawide camera, better (more consistent) Auto mode, and faster response for the image capture and video recording start/stop, they should at least be good to go for most people. Some would like the more granular control back for the PRO mode. I would also prefer that they have better receptions, larger storage for the price (or reduce price for same storage), more RAM for the price (or reduce price for same amount of RAM), actually better cooling for both gaming and using the camera.
Well, most of the time Sony still takes some weaker shots, just see the examples with the grass at minute 7:20. But I am glad they improved a few things, but they better add a bigger main camera sensor and higher MP telephoto sensor on the successor.

Night mode on iPhone is not a night mode, it's a day mode. It brightens up everything way too much so you lose the whole kind of atmosphere that is typical for night shots. Concerning video, you really have to put Cinetone in. Cinetone is right in the middle between what Apple gives you: oversharpened HDR-crap or Log footage that not everybody is able to work with. In terms of video, it is a more than clear win for Sony because you have control about the final look of your image. Something that Apple refuses to give users for years already.
Toughness of the iPhone appeals to me, But headphone jack & expandable memory is a biggie. So wish apple had kept the headphone jack, those usb dongles are useless they just fall out all the time 🤦🏻 Appreciate the review 🙏 but still can’t decide 😂
Honestly, neither of both smartphones interests me, on the other hand, this comparison shows how hypocritical 90% of Western youtubers and media are when they say they choose the iPhone for professional reasons (photo quality, but especially videos), honestly, there is no smartphone that is closer to a real professional camera than this Sony 🤷🏽♂️ We all know the reason why 90-95% of Western youtubers and media prefer and use iPhones, it's not really for the photo-video quality of iPhones, but for other reasons that we all know very well, the same reasons that today the Chinese media and the Chinese use and propagandize smartphones and other Chinese products. 🙏🏽

At this point i can only say the Xperia's have had consistent superior speakers but that's about it.

The xperia 1 V has a 4K 120hz display, making it one of the only phones with that screen. Sad that they downgraded it with the VI
Im not, the VI gets like 2x the battery life because they moved to a 1080p screen
