I love how lowkey, sleek, matt, and professional it looks while sporting powerful specs. I don't want to see any random color led unnecessary lights on my work laptop.

I want it as a software engineer, I just like to have an OLED display for the high contrast.
So it would be great to get rid of pwm (flickering) as a lot of people's eyes are sensitive to it, or at least make it very high frequency, and not around 240-340 hz as it's currently.
Also the brightness needs to be way higher to be able to use it outside, as an example in a cafe with glass windows where the sun will make it annoying to use because it can't get to a high brightness like some IPS displays.
And finally, if there's any text clarity/sharpness problems arising from the OLED technology, it should be addressed too.

Got this laptop a week ago. It's bricked due to an Asus BIOS update. Stuck on the startup screen with the Asus logo with the words "flash update progress". Poor support from Asus. Got this for work, now without an income for who knows how long.

Just purchased this laptop, and though it is claimed to support 2x32GB DDR5 modules at 5200Mhz, the BIOS provides no memory speed controls or XMP options and the system is downclocking my Crucial (Micron) [CT2K32G52C42S5] 5200 64GB kit to 4800Mhz. Hopefully Asus you can provide additional support for more RAM outside of what you ship pre-installed in the laptop. Otherwise, this machine is approaching perfection.

big software problems after update 07/22/2023. had to send the device in for repairs. According to service, the problem is known and has occurred on many devices. -Additionally annoying coil whine in battery mode
    -display looks grainy
In general the laptop is good but has too many bugs for a device aimed at professionals. Especially when the entire laptop is paralyzed by the software. now i have to wait 7-10 days. very disappointed in asus

Does the touchpad have palm rejection while using the stylus on it? Does the pen cause any haptic feedback? Confused about how pad clicks are resolved when the stylus gets involved.

I tested this laptop, hm I'm very pleased, but I'd rather change the oled matrix to a matte one, and also remove the right numeric keypad.
There could be more vram in the graphics card.

      @theCameraVille ปีที่แล้ว +6

The numeric is for the 3D user / CAD user. Without it, it will be harder to navigate which will cut off a segment of the buyers. If this didn't have a numeric keypad, I wouldn't consider this at all.

Taiwanese MSI in 2022 broke from ninth to first place in the supply of laptops to Russia, displacing HP. In second place is Huawei, which has risen from eighth place, although it has imposed a lot of sanctions against Russia. Apple, Acer, Asus, HP and other companies that have stopped their business in Russia sank heavily in the rankings. Apple dropped out of the top 5 altogether.

I have the Vivobook 16X OLED from last year and started getting burn-in from around 4 months. I don't understand why they make "creator" based laptops with OLED screens when they suffer from burn-in. All the apps I use have some form of menu / panel on the right hand side and / or top that don't "move" much and as "creators" we spend many many hours in front of said apps / software, it doesn't make sense. Running Windows and apps in dark mode (as recommended) is also not such a great idea because I find that very rarely do I have my screen set on anything else other than max brightness to compensate for the dark greys / blacks that OLED's produce which leads to faster burn-in. I would be extremely pissed if I purchased this laptop myself but it was purchased for me in order to carry out work. I hope this helps with your decision.
Edit: The Vivobook 16X OLED's and these StudioBook's have the same OLED panels.

ASUS in 2024: Lets improve our proArt 16 for this year. Right off the bat just reduce the refresh rate from 120 to 60 Hz. don't add any finger print reader and don't make it convertible at any cost so that God forbid people might use their touch screen with pen. These features might not just be enough to persuade people to buy this laptop. Lets replace intel core processors as well with inferior AMD chips

😢 just bought H7604jv... and since day one only problems. Asus Dial wasn't working in Adobe, after initial W11P updates... resolved, then I've discovered my Sony G 128GB cards can't reach transfers above 90MB/s on that built-in Realtek SDXC 7.0 reader. Same cards work allright on TB port card reader, reaching up to 260MB/s. That's probably software and drivers not working great (everything up to date). Asus.. what a bummer. Oh, Keyboard and Asus Dial ergonomics not so great for pro use. Potential users - You've been warned :/
EDIT: after in depth research I found its not about sd card compatibility. Asus did forget to mention SD Express standard is not back compatible with faster SD standards so the reader can be fast only when you use special SD EX cards which are non existent in for ex. photography world. SD express reader reads either SD UHS 1 or SD EX standard, and nothing in between (sic!) which means every other card than SD EX will get speeds only up to 90MB/s which is crazy slow in 2023.

As a photographer, I do wish I could manually adjust screen colours on my ProArt Studiobook to match my print lab. I'm shocked that I've had this for almost a month and still haven't been able to find a way to adjust individual parameters like gamma, contrast, hue, saturation, etc. A great laptop but disappointing that this is so difficult to find. I'm still waiting for Asus support to provide me with an answer. Am I missing something super obvious?

@@nr7645 no I never figured it out and didn't get a helpful response from Asus. They just directed me to their usual tools, which lack this capability. This seems like such an oversight for a laptop that's supposed to be geared for visual creators. I need to be able to tweak every aspect of the colour to match my printing lab's output and it seems nonsensical that I'm unable to do this!

I'll be watching for that 3D version!!!
I currently have an Asus Rog 3D Laptop (with glasses of course) and I loved it.
I don't really use the 3D anymore as I no longer use this laptop as a portable.
But I'm open to buying a 3D laptop without glasses as long as the screen isn't like those crappy lenticular screens where you have to move your head back and forth, up and down to find that "sweet spot". I have 3 cameras that are 3D, using those kinds of displays.
They work ok, but the sweet spot thing is tiring.
I await to see this new Asus 3D in real life... SOON!
    *UPDATED*
Ok, I just discovered that this new 3D laptop does in fact use a lenticular screen.
However, it appears that rather than making the person move our heads to find the sweet spot, it's using 2 cameras that do eye tracking so that the apps can render the images quickly, in real time, to position things for best 3D for the viewer.
With that, it seems clear that the 3D effect will only be "good" for 1 person. Not several standing around trying to see 3D. Sadly, Toshiba tried to make a 3D TV with a lenticular screen. Needless to say, that didn't work out so well.
I so wish that some genius out there would invent a new 3D technology that doesn't use glasses and does not use the lenticular concept.
It's not here yet, but perhaps one day... sigh...
Oh, one more thing... on the Asus site, it talks about watching 3D movies and content in any format.
I hope that this laptop will have a built-in 2D to 3D converter, perhaps one that uses A.I. to create the closest to 3D from 2D content as possible.

I'm seeing lots of negative reviews for the ProArt 16 claiming that the OLED touchscreens are distractingly grainy and have a "mesh screen" effect. They say it's most noticeable in the whites and up close. What's your take on that? Is it a problem at all? Ty!

    1) Do the keys on the board light up. With challenging eye sight thats important to me.
2 Question: When video editing can I run more than 2 videos lines when editing.? That is the problem with other lap tops. It's slows them down?
    3) with your fastest CPU and ram- what is the most cores can I get in this lap top ?
Thanks. I'm an artist and I'm also a photographer. And I'm about to venture into the future with a ton of expensive video equipment for studio editing. It's important that I can have a machine that attacks these challenges. Please respond- I'm a Dell XPS user. So I'm considering your company.

Get rid of the dial, make the touchpad even bigger for better drawing on it instead, stylus on the touchpad is more productive than a "gimmicky" dial. Get rid of the numpad and put up-firing speakers on the sides, a 99.9Wh to round it off and you have the perfect machine. Maybe even an SKU without OLED and dGPU for programmers, you'd instantly win over the devs.

Might prefer a bit of rgb light and media keyboards it won't hurt to put all in one laptops..its in the end all preferences appreciated.

Why did you guys get rid of the buttons on the touchpad? Was there not space or was it a cost thing? A smart alternative would be to add the middle mouse function to the pen. Also will you be making a version with a 4080 gpu, it would be nice to have an option between the 4070 and the a3000.
