    At 5:30 I show the under-seat storage, proving that it can hold two full-face helmets.
    My Yamaha Majesty 400 (2009 model) was $5000 brand new. It has a top speed of 106 mph and gets 50 mpg. It has an automatic v-belt CVT (transmission), and a 395cc, liquid cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC engine.

    Seriously one of the best videos I've seen. I like that actually show off the bike more and gave a really good idea of how much space is .under the seats. I'm fixing to get my moped soon for year round riding. It's definitely going to save me on gas and be a great help going to college and work.

    Yeah, I fell in love with the storage and the automatic transmission on this bike. It outweighed the coolness of the CBR250R for me. There are a lot of times when I find myself saying, "What would I do without the under-seat storage?". Plus I wanted somethings that's comfortable on the freeway for me and my GF. We commute to college.

    I've got the newly-designed, Piaggio BV350. It's my 1st PTW, and although it took a little time getting used to the weight, I just took the MSF course and stayed clear of high traffic until I was ready. It weighs 390, I've had it six months, does very well for highway commuting and light touring, and it makes more sense to me than buying a bike that one knows will be too small in a few months. It's 330 cc with 32.8 hp, 23.8. Top speed--86. It's perfect for me except windscreen is too small.

    This bike is very similar to an Apprilia 500. I purchased a 2004 last October for $2,400, it is very utilitarian also. Plenty of power and 50+ mpg... I really like it. I have almost 2000 miles on it since then... I had a Chinese 150 and going to this Italian bike is like going from a VW to a BMW...

    Hello, I really like your videos, they are very informative. I have just purchased a new 2013 majesty. I have a question about the coolant system. I got my bike on July 24,2013 and have only driven it 30 miles. On July 26, 2013 after a six mile drive after I parked the bike in the driveway, I noticed coolant leaking from the bike out of a thin black hose at the bottom of the bike. It poured out very quickly for about 30 seconds and then it stopped. Is it just the bike breaking in? Or is

  • @gregoryfaulkner5345
    @gregoryfaulkner5345 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Couple of more points about the BV350...23.8 is peak torque; MSRP last year @ $5499 but raised to $5699 in January. It's the size of a 300 (like Kymco People and Sym CityCom) but more power than any 300 out there. Can easily cruise at 75 and there is an after-market screen for $219 plus shipping that one needs to make it a true tourer. It returns low 60s mpg for avg. riders. I'm averaging 70 mpg in my highway commute @ 60 mph (a little better summer; a little worse in winter). Tons of storage.

    Yeah, I would have checked it out, but it wasn't around when I got this Majesty. Does it hold 2 full face helmets? I'm always riding with my GF and we love how we can store our helmets inside. This is one thing I've always wondered about the BV350.

  • @bench175
    @bench175  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, it is liquid-cooled. And I definitely agree that it's nice not to shift all the time.

  • @bench175
    @bench175  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes, I'm pretty sure all modern motorcycle can be ridden in the rain. I found this quote on the MajestyUSA forum: "Again, I'v been riding this bike for 2.5 years, through wind, sun, rain, summer, winter, spring and autumn. It is in fact my sole transportation fully by choice." Just stay off the road for the first 15 min of rain to let the oil wash away, and make sure your tires are good.

    It does have engine braking but not much. Other Majesty owners say that the disc brakes are no problem on hills. Google search "majesty concerns about steep downhill" to find the thread on the topic. And, there is one dip in RPM's during acceleration. You can see it on my 0-60 MPH video.

    This is better than the Burgman 400. I have studied them both and this Majesty is the one that I decided to buy. I consider it to be better than the Burgman 650. The Burgman has some plastic gears that are prone to stripping.

    • @johnklumpp7901
      @johnklumpp7901 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The drive geartrain in my Burgman Exec consists of straight-cut metal construction, and after 9 years on the road there is no evidence of anything like "stripping".
      I do agree though that the Majesty 400 (owned one earlier) is more comfortable than the Burgman Exec for touring.
      However, with 54HP on tap, the Burgman 650 has enough power to draw a small trailer- which can be used to haul home items like a Motor-mower, a Dishwasher, or a Refrigerator.

    @bench175  11 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Haha, yes, I remember the first time I rode it, I thought, "holy shit, maybe I'm not ready for this bike," but you just have to start out nice and slow. You just need to ride a few times to build the muscle memory of how heavy it is. Soon your body will know how to react with the extra weight, and it will be easy. I took it to my high school parking lot for the first couple days, and now I'm flying through traffic lol.

      Same here,
      It was sundown when I finished the Craigslist deal ,in a different town ,an hour car ride away from my house. I told myself I had to learn sooner or later, so I was forced to ride on a really busy Florida highway for nearly 2 hours without sunlight- no gear, no shoes. I couldn’t sleep that night at all from the adrenaline rush.
      Thanks for posting these videos bro. We Majesty owners need to help each other out, because we’re far in between.✌️👍

    "faster" doesn't add much value because this is already as fast as most cars on the road. However, can the Ninja fit 2 full-face helmets under the seat and guarantee to never stall? These add a lot of value.

    That was the clearest, most matter-of-fact, useful scooter review I've seen so far on TH-cam. Excellent. If only others were as factual and showed relevant, close up shots in this same manner. Thank you! Only advice I can offer is if you intend to keep riding in winters, and your scooter can support an extra 50 watt electrical load, heated grips are really, really nice. Oxford makes a good set.

    I bought the 2012 Maj. I have 8,000+ miles on it as of 2013. I have used it mostly on urban freeways. I have to say it is everything I was looking for in two wheels. It is great on gas, has a nice power band in the 60s or so for quick acceleration at high speeds on the freeway. It is very stable on the freeways with its weight. I added some saddle bags and a top box for storage and it does the job-I can get a weeks worth of groceries on it including cases of coke. Of course I'd prefer a faster two wheeler, but practicality won out over a motorcycle, especially on storage.

    • @bench175
      @bench175  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Damn, dude. You do a lot of riding. I have about 8,500 miles after two years. I'm in the same boat as you. The top speed is more than enough, and I usually out-accelerate cars, but we always want more acceleration.

    Looks great.. and it looks comfortable. Personally i prefer riding a scooter but for some reason many people can't understand that

      Having owned both maxi-scooters and a traditional MC, I prefer the scooters.

    What’s going man I’m looking to buy one of this or an xmax 300 I like the majesty cause is a lil faster I would think just wanted to ask if is worth to still buy one of this scooter in 2022 cause of the parts for it.? In your experience is this bike reliable.? Is it good for 2 people to ride on the highway I had a few bikes n scooters myself but I’m tired of shifting gears so I’m in between those 2 bikes nice video your feed back would be gladly appreciated 🤙🏼

    Great vid. I've been tempted to trade in my Honda sh150i for a used Yamaha majesty or a tmax.

    What temperature does your temperature gauge read when you ride? Mine is at the halfway mark

    Thanks for the very informative vid. I nearly purchased a Kymco 300I recently, until I was made aware of how cramped they are. I've seen a used Majesty for $3000 (Canadian) and with the leg room and adjustable seat I think this might be a nice option to go for! The top speed is impressive, have you managed to experience this and is it still smooth? Thanks

      I took it to 90 for a second haha. Bike doesn't seem stressed so smoothness depends on the road.

      Get Japanese. It will save you problems later.
