Yeah...that's why you use this kind in fermentation etc. All those other chemicals can kill it. I have used Morton Kosher salt. It has an anti caking agent but it presented no off flavors. If your water and salt aren't clean,it's a no go

Himalayan salt is mined and not made with a chemical process from seawater I believe? I'm pretty sure Himalayan salt is from ancient preserved seabed deposits in those mountains. Not quite as "Alive"

I worked at an upscale steakhouse that used jacobsens salt and let me tell you that stuff is AMAZING. You would not believe how much better it makes everything.

I still don't understand why Jacobsen salt is so expensive. It's everywhere here in Portland and it's absurdly pricey.
Probabaly because handmaking and evaporating through a gas burner aren't the cheapest ways to do it
Artisanal production = more expensive production. A more industrialized production would reduce the price but would probably also reduce the supposed quality it assures. So you are paying for the most expensive production and that quality it assures.
Check out the doc “my name is salt” to see how the cheap stuff is made and you will have your answer
I wish Vince would communicate with like camera movements he’s such a big part of brads show but the silence of brad not getting an answer back holds a lot of comedic value 😂
