The reason metal sonic rebooted has issues is because of the 32x songs that were converted and used. Many hack games out there that use 32x songs with the same conversion method as have this issue once you go to legit software.
I always assumed it was a bug brought on by an outdated variant of the sound driver (Clownacy's Sonic 2 Cloned V2 driver in 68k) as the early builds of gamma V's ''Sonic Legacy'' used the same outdated driver that had the same bug where it kept crashing sporadically in game. Thank you so much redhotsonic for testing ''Metal Sonic Rebooted'' it shows that these issues were not just down to me which is what Lone Devil believed.
1:52 The Wondermegas/X'Eyes are pretty expensive, the american models coming in at 260-1155 USD, or 200-885 pound sterling. An eBay seller wanted 599.98 USD or 459.98 pound sterling. An X'Eye complete in its box would be only a few bucks over, so why I am saying the American version more is because I'm from that region.

I dunno if I ever said this before, but I feel Sonic 3 Complete could go with one final update, or at least a patch of sorts for the current build; Mainly, a larger and accurate Release/Prototype palette swap selection (for such zones as Hydrocity, Launch Base, Mushroom Valley, Flying Battery, Lava Reef, Doomsday, and I guess also the Slot Machine bonus stage?), the authentic proto tracks over ValleyBell's remixes, the ability to Drop Dash with both the Nov 3 and Mania methods, and an optional separate patch for Sonic's proto sprites (because the official online customization options did include sprite sets from Sonic 1/CD and 2… no Nick Arcade set though).
5:10 I’ve encountered some crashes with the Super forms myself. Like when beating the Scrap Brain level, the game constantly crashes as it’s trying to turn the character’s color palette back to Sonic’s. The only way I managed to slightly prevent it as Silver, was by activating his psychokineses and keep it on until I pass the sign. Even then, it only works if I manually turn it on, so I can’t just hover. Also, I should mention that you save your Chaos Emeralds until you reset the game or pick a new character. So you technically can just go and play the second level after gaining the seventh emerald and dying or beating the game.

The crashes in this one seem to be at random points. 3. I spoke to Lone Devil about Metal Sonic Rebooted and how it resets itself back to the sega logo screen from the title screen each and every time in PAL, I even made a video about it and I mentioned it in Redhotsonic's Metal Sonic Rebooted review, Funny thing is that this happens on emulators too and if you boot the ROM on the USA setting and then switch it to Europe the music is slow but it doesn't reset itself at the title screen, anyway after speaking to Darkon360/Lone Devil his response was this. ''Does it really crash while getting a 1up (that's just a sfx) and Chaos Emerald? Also I couldn't figure why the title screen crashes and wouldn't bother because why on earth would any reasonable being play at 50hz?'' Well if that's going to be his attitude towards his own game then Lone Devil shouldn't write it off as ''being finished'' or ''complete'' which is what it says on Sonic Retro, it's still nothing more than a ''broken beta''. v1.2 4. Scorched Quest as far as I know uses the standard SMPS 68k from Sonic 1 which is why the music is slow and yeah it crashed for me in the same special stage. What happened Painto? You were so close to finishing this one and just fell short at 80% done.
@Mario fan and Sonic fan I know he retired but he only announced his retirement last year, this hack is from late 2016 so there was still 3 more years to finish the remaining 20% of this hack before his retirement in 2019. But Painto is awesome none the less and what he has given us still great.
I had a good feeling that S3 Complete would work. Now even though the Genesis Mini is emulation I put S3 Complete in there since there was no S3&K due to the obvious reasons. Now with you (redhotsonic) testing the other 3 games maybe you should share this video with the creators of those rom hacks/homebrews so maybe they can go and fix these errors and you then can try again to get them to work on the actual hardware.
I think it's time I dusted off my old mega drive from the attic and get me one of those everdrive cartridges. I'm definitely going to get the Sonic 3 complete and try the scorched quest too. You're clue made me convinced there was going to be some kind of Sonic X mod game. I was wrong, lol.
I do enjoy pkaying these rom hacks on an everdrive. The sega team player actually works with Sonic Classic Heroes so you can have 3 players on it. I have never tried to punch the cardridge level select with the Sonic 3D director's cut to see if it works on an everdrive like the original game does
In my opinion sonic 3C delta is more definitive than normal 3C because it uses more things from prototype like sonic 2 sprites with new ones to match s3 sprite sheet and original music with corrections and fixed title screen

I have an NTSC Genesis Model 2, and a Mega Everdrive X3. Sonic 3 Complete and Sonic Scorched Quest work with no problems for me. (I haven’t played both games fully, so I could be wrong. Also the special stage glitch in Scorched Quest is probably still in my copy) I don’t have Metal Sonic Rebooted and the S-Factor.
The bugs you encountered in Sonic: Scorched Quest and The S Factor are also encountered in some emulators, including the emulator I use; GenPlusDroid, a mobile emulator made for Android phones. Thankfully, that emulator has a rewind button to undo f**k-ups like getting hit, dying, and crashes. But, do it too many times, the emulator itself will crash. Sonic 3 Complete runs flawlessly, but Metal Sonic Rebooted does have a few crashes
As a child the year 2000 i had the sega genesis carteidge add on and was able to play sonic and knuckles complete, i didnt even know what the big cartridge was for until randomly messing with the sega one day and putting sonic 3 on top of sonic and knuckles and it worked, i then put sonic 2 on top and was able to use knuckles in sonic 2, the good ole days
old but for s3 complete pick by game: changes depending on picked game (sonic 3 and complete plays sonic 3 music and s&k zones play sonic & knuckles plays s&k music) pick by zone: (only applies to complete mode) sonic 3 zones play sonic 3 music and s&k zone plays s&k music
The error of s factor is in emulation too. I tested it on an emulator and the error occured and u were right about the fact that were not meant to be super there
I played Sonic 3 Complete and ran into a problem on Marble Garden Zone. In Act 2, I was literally unable to finish the stage. It'll play normally but after beating Robotnik, Sonic and Tails are stuck in place, unable to open the egg pod to finish the stage. I tried everything and couldn't jump up high enough no matter what I did. I don't have an EverDrive so I'm playing on an emulator. I tried contacting the ROM author and never heard back from them. I would of bought an Ever drive and a MK 1 console myself to play Sonic 3 Complete but it works quite well on my hacked Megadrive Mini. A Bluetooth 6 button joypad also goes quite well.
Sonic 3 AIR runs on the hardware it originated on just fine. It's a port for IBM PC compatibles and it runs there just fine. Similarly, Sonic 1 and 2 iOS / Android work fine on their target hardware. .... Bring them to something with buttons, Sega.
Thank you for telling me that Sonic 3 doesn't work on first Sega Genesis because I was real sad when I figured out that it wouldn't work on my 16 bit mega drive

Also I couldn't figure why the title screen crashes and wouldn't bother because why on earth would any reasonable being play at 50hz?''
Well if that's going to be his attitude towards his own game then Lone Devil shouldn't write it off as ''being finished'' or ''complete'' which is what it says on Sonic Retro, it's still nothing more than a ''broken beta''. v1.2
Yay My Request was in :D

I had a good feeling that S3 Complete would work. Now even though the Genesis Mini is emulation I put S3 Complete in there since there was no S3&K due to the obvious reasons. Now with you (redhotsonic) testing the other 3 games maybe you should share this video with the creators of those rom hacks/homebrews so maybe they can go and fix these errors and you then can try again to get them to work on the actual hardware.
8:37 well, Metal Sonic rebooted, so that's fine!
1:52 You're Also Missing the SEGA Genesis Model 3 & JVC X'EYE
And the Nomad!
@@redhotsonic & Let's Not Forget About the Genesis CDX/Multi-Mega
@@WindowsSe7enXP jesus he is missing quite alot
I think it's time I dusted off my old mega drive from the attic and get me one of those everdrive cartridges. I'm definitely going to get the Sonic 3 complete and try the scorched quest too. You're clue made me convinced there was going to be some kind of Sonic X mod game. I was wrong, lol.
I do enjoy pkaying these rom hacks on an everdrive. The sega team player actually works with Sonic Classic Heroes so you can have 3 players on it.
I have never tried to punch the cardridge level select with the Sonic 3D director's cut to see if it works on an everdrive like the original game does
You must be drenching wet knowing your wife splashed you with some refreshing water. XD
Yeah that part was funny as hell.
As someone with a Sonic 3C rom customized to be among the lines of the prototype, I’m really happy with it and the hardware analysis.
In my opinion sonic 3C delta is more definitive than normal 3C because it uses more things from prototype like sonic 2 sprites with new ones to match s3 sprite sheet and original music with corrections and fixed title screen
1:52 if you wanted read what he said fast put it on 0,25 and time ur stop button he said
RedhotSonic: That makes me sound really unappreciative there, doesn't it?
Please dont take this the wrong way! I am extremely
Grateful for the donation. What my joke was referring to
Was the fact that my console collection to test Sonic games
is not actually complete because of the absence of the
WWondeMega. Plus. there are a few others missing
I just wanted to make this clear.
And if you're reading this, have a good day! :)
The end thank me later ik I'm late xd
Only just got around to watching this, gotta say it's actually kinda fun seeing this, though I would personally suggest altering your rating system to maybe an x out of 5 system instead, 5 being fully working and 0 being the obvious dud games, it'd give a little more freedom of ranking and allow a better category mix, alas, just a suggestion :) Keep up the good work
Does S Factor work on real hardware
YES *Sonia gives thumbs up at right moment*
7:36
Now that was just comedic
That also happened to me on an emulator 10:41 but I’m glad savestates and rewind feature can save you from this
7:36 lmao the drummer died
I tested it on an emulator and the error occured and u were right about the fact that were not meant to be super there
Cybershell once said that Sonic 3 Complete would fit on an actual cartridge.
I miss him.
He is back
Congrats redhotsonic
I played Sonic 3 Complete and ran into a problem on Marble Garden Zone. In Act 2, I was literally unable to finish the stage. It'll play normally but after beating Robotnik, Sonic and Tails are stuck in place, unable to open the egg pod to finish the stage. I tried everything and couldn't jump up high enough no matter what I did. I don't have an EverDrive so I'm playing on an emulator. I tried contacting the ROM author and never heard back from them. Has anyone else had this problem?
I haven't had this problem... A glitch had probably occurred earlier
Incredibly underrated.
What's the point in playing Standalone Sonic 3 and Standalone Sonic & Knuckles when there's Sonic 3 Complete and Blue Sphere to be played?
The extra charater in the s factor is scorge the hedgehog
1:53 the message was so fast, I actually had to use a chrome developer command to even pause on the frame to read what it said.
What did it say

Hold on, aren't you the guy in the sonic 3C credits?
Yeah, as technical assistance.
@@redhotsonic That's so cool! I love that game I've played it to bits.
I love alot of old Classic Sonic rom hacks, i play them on my PlayStation Classic (Genesis Plus GX/PicoDrive).
Yes it works becouse i have cartridge of sonic 3 complete form aliexpres and it works very Good:)
I have it on real cartdrige as well and it works perfectly, even saves.
I bought a sonic 3 complete cartridge off of Etsy from 3 years ago and still have and love it! it!
Sonic 3 and Knuckles is one my favorite platformers along with Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest.
I just played Sonic Scorched Quest on my phone and thankfully the crash in Special Stage 5 doesn't happen to me. But for some reason when I reached Molten Brain Act 1 the game gave me an illegal instruction error. Good thing I had a previous save stae left over so I managed to finish the game. Then I decided to use the level select but for some reason the game gives me the same error when I try to open a level. Does anyone know why this happens?
Great video keep up the great work 👍🏽
When you mention the rom hack that we begged for i thought you finally do your rom hack S2 recreation
Yeah, that's another one I've gotta do. Just waiting for a few things to happen first then I'll start production on that one.
What's the outro music? Can I have the link?
A remix of sonic 1 boss theme
7:07 metal Sonic’s super form is actually metal sonic with yellow eyes
Hey how do I download rom hacks for sonic 3 cause I really want sonic 3 complete I don't know how to do it so please reply
The download links are in the description. Once you have the ROM (BIN file), you open it up with an emulator. I recommend KEGA Fusion.
@@redhotsonic how do I improve the quality of the kega fusion?
@@elect9816 just read the readme file it tells u how kega works
I actually think that Sonic Scorched Quest's title theme sounds good in unoptimized 50hz!
8:23 That also happens on emulation if the region is set to EUR
I have an official cartridge of sonic 3 complete on my sega genisis, and yes it does work.
That is because it’s just Sonic 3 and Knuckles, but in one cartridge, plus more options to choose from.
@@Luigiman-yi4jm True.
@Command64 I got it off of etsy
@Command64 idk probably, at least it plays sonic 3 complete
I would of bought an Ever drive and a MK 1 console myself to play Sonic 3 Complete but it works quite well on my hacked Megadrive Mini. A Bluetooth 6 button joypad also goes quite well.
10:42 His Reaction xD
Sonic 3 AIR runs on the hardware it originated on just fine. It's a port for IBM PC compatibles and it runs there just fine. Similarly, Sonic 1 and 2 iOS / Android work fine on their target hardware. .... Bring them to something with buttons, Sega.
As an additional data point, Sonic 3 Complete works fine using VC inject on a homebrew 3DS.
Second but redhotsonic what is your favorite sonic game
It's ok
How many Genesis/Megadrives do you want?
RHS: Y e s
Set the speed on this part at 1.25x kinda awkward but sounds better! 11:20
Thank you for telling me that Sonic 3 doesn't work on first Sega Genesis because I was real sad when I figured out that it wouldn't work on my 16 bit mega drive
Okay but where is that remix of the Sonic 1 boss in the outro from???
Hey since you posted this I saw me on my cartridge
9:38 What this music?
6:52 Shadow "damn" derse
You also need the Cell Shock which is Sega sponsored Russian only Genesis. It looks nothing like a Genesis but it has the cartridge port right in the same spot.
Metal sonic go brrrrrrrrr
How to get to debug mode where all the levels are in Metal Sonic reboot game
12:13 what the heck
Curious, where do I go to find an Everdrive MD? Is that even the best MD Flash Cart I can use? If not, what is it?
4:40 why did shadowcat do that
Sonic scortch quest was nice enough to give a report on why it crashed
Metal Sonic rebooted is just giving a big middle finger to you every damn second
I mean it's not lying with being rebooted,it happens like every 7 secs
5:50 Model 2 Sega CD song?
5:21 I see you have a PlayStation controller and team sonic racing review I see the options button and you have the Sonic mania plus disc for PS4 but I see you have a Xbox controller and I'm confused 🤔
