I watched this on Fite and some may not know there are no commercial breaks there. After laying Darby out on the outside of the ring Samoa Joe just paced about the ring and did not even really try to capitalize on a wounded Darby. Just kept waiting until the break was up. So in other words the match looked even more stupid to those watching on Fite.
Not gonna lie Fite Commentary is hilarious (ly bad)

The way he described Referee Aubrey explaining what happened to the other ref just had me in a fit of laughter so hard I couldn't breathe for five minutes.
The problem with the Hulk Hogan explanation of dates and time is he does not have the skills to explain it. Therefore Scott Steiner will do the math for us.
And it spells disaster.

Tony Khan has a problem, where he books the hometown guy to win every time they are in that performer's home audience, instead of using that same exact audience to get heat on the heel, which would translate on TV much better.
That's too much like something the WWE would do, so Tony has to be different.

I like that no one came from the locker room to rescue Ricky and Andretti. AEW always tries to even everything up. There is more story to a giant group of heels bullying a couple of outnumbered faces.
42 y/o and I was there. Fully agree with cornette on how the JAS ruined their legit heat in that show.
Jarrett/Lethal had the most heat of the night. Jarrett dealing with the audience through the show was really engaging and I hated the guy for so many years.
Danielson had the biggest pop

AEW is a ship without a captain 💯 They need real writers and far better bookers. They also need an owner who's not a mark for his own promotion. Guys booking themselves is NOT a wrestling promotion, it's a circus. Which is what AEW has become

I honestly kind of like the idea of a TNA contingent in AEW. Get rid of Zippy the pinhead and I like the tag-team of JJ and Jay Lethal with Sonjay as manager (would love to see Sonjay in the ring again but I think he is done with that).
It might work if they'd had anything to do with TNA in the last decade. Jarrett left and sold his shares to Dixie in 2013 and Lethal hasn't wrestled there since Lockdown 2011 ☠️ Not sure about Sonjay but it's still kind of a reach.
An incredible Dynamite to start off the year.
All wrestlers won in their hometown/city/state - What a concept.
It does become predictable tho, everyone always wins in their hometown whether they should or not
Having _everyone_ win in their hometowns as a concept is just as stupid as Vince's obsession with having _nobody_ win at home, because the subjects must be humbled in front of their families and friends so they know their place, or whatever his "reasoning" is.

There were a handful of workers who had potential to be interesting in AEW......MJF, Hobbs, Wardlow, Starks. Now I don't want to see any of them. Even MJF's promos have become dull as slate.

With WWE constantly covered with tremendous controversy and bad publicity of the Saudi sale, now's the chance for Tony Khan to prove that he is a great booker by booking better storylines and matches, and doing the right things backstage.
Update: Ariel Helwani reported that no deal has taken place between WWE and the Saudi Fund as of today.

You have to agree with Brian, young people don`t care about TV at all. It`s just a box with a lot of shitty shows and full of different political propaganda if you watch different channels. As a 21yo I prefer taking my phone, watch stuff that interest me in my free time, without having to wait for a specyfic time a day to wath someting.

Cornette coming up with that alternative promo for MJF was friggin brilliant. I wished Cornette didn't hate as many people as he does. That way he'd be willing to go on one last run as a manager with a major company on TV.
They want him. Both companies in fact, but he saved his money, wasn't ever poor in his life, and has a highly successful podcast and merchandise selling business. There's nothing they could offer him that would make one last run worth putting up with those issues/people that he doesn't like.
Jim announced years ago that he's never going to work fulltime in wrestling again. His voice was practically completely wrecked for a week after every single one of his last appearances as a commentator. In some instances he couldn't do the podcast in the week after because he was unable to talk at all. If you think he would (or could) travel to regular TV tapings every week, you really haven't been paying attention. He would get sick as a dog and have to drop out within the first two months.
@@henrygvidonas9573 I don't want him to work full-time. I'm talking a few TV appearances and a few matches out of one year. I've definitely been paying attention. As a matter of fact, I guarantee you and anyone else in these comments, save for Brian Last and Stacy, that I know WAY MORE about his personal life than the rest of you. Having said that, I know Jim contemplates often doing another run managing someone akin to the type of appearances that Lesnar does. Show up only for tv, build to a match for about 3 weeks, do the match, record a see ya later promo, and out the door for 4-5 months. I know FOR A FACT Jim can handle that.

With Jake Hager less is just more. I think the WWE hit the nail on the head with it more. As Jack Swagger he had a couple of good german suplexes, a good looking gutwrench powerbomb and in the early days he would do a chop block to set up for the ankle lock.
I think it should just be those moves. The matches should be short and decisive: Either Hager wins by tapout or his opponent wins by pin steal. And they should give him back the outfits that make him look like a strongman (not a hipster with too much muscle )
But there was one glaring issue…he didn’t have the Stupid Fuckin Purple Hat 🎩

Multiple people compared him to a goat. But sadly putting MJF in this situation with Danielson greatly showcases why Miz is a better talker and has significantly better chemistry with Danielson.

AEW Dynamite was awesome last Wednesday the elite vs Death Triangle in a Gymnastics routine absolutely sucked the sooner this shit ends the better as for the rest of the show it was alright

The commentator audio was awful, but because they are awful it didn't matter.
The biggest problem with both companies Wwe and Aew is that they don't know how to create new stars. So they bring wrestlers from the pass back like Christian and Edge, John Cena, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar.
Why do people have a problem with playing wrestler music while they run into the ring to help s how people in arena are supposed to know who coming to the ring if they are in the noses bleed seats Common sense ppl damn
If you hear a music cue before someone runs out, that just kills the surprise factor and looks unrealistic.
That's why music isn't needed and the losers in the nose bleed seats need to use binoculars or zoom in on the ring using their phones if they can't see it.

I am 43 & I have not watched or even had cable tv in probably 15-18 years! There are much better and cheaper and less strict (no contracts) options and there has been for a very long time, IE Redbox to Netflix, etc. Cable is not very important to even older people! This is why ratings do not interest me! It is ridiculous to try to use bad numbers in anything!
