This really was the sonic 06 of spyro games. As a preteen/teen I couldn't remember why this was my least played spyro game, so I booted it up and immediately noticed the terrible frame drops, broken controls, and the crashing. That cloud level was the worst culprit with the framerate rarely going above single digits. Great video though! I'm not really a big fan of glitches but seeing the creativity used when combining multiple glitches to work in tandem is so much fun.
Ever since watching Mr FO1's Enter the Dragonfly documentary I have a new found respect for this game. It wasn't that the developers were bad, it was just that the game went through development hell in an era where you couldn't patch games easily. I have 100%'d this game fairly recently and some levels are actually quite good. It's just sad knowing what it could have been. Great run of the game anyway, it's just a shame Monkey Monastery had to go and ruin it. Also learnt a thing or two, didn't know there were too many gems in the Jurassic level and didn't know Ripto had multiple forms based on completion.
The timed challenge where you die to reach the last two bonfires is amazing. It's like they made the time ridiculously generous on purpose knowing someone would come up with that!
For real guys you are actual magicians of videogaming. Besides the sheer skill, the production value of the videos is high too, especially the commentary. Well done guys!
This game is so incredibly broken and a shell of the original trilogy. Despite this though, it was my first Spyro game and I played it as I was growing up. I have fond memories of being 8 years old and talking to my friend at school about this game and being excited to come home and play it together. I remember spending ages taking turns to try and beat that tank mission in the honey level, which was the last dragonfly we got before 100%. Even though this game is objectively a bad game, it still holds a great amount of nostalgia for me and I'll always appreciate it for that.
It's crazy that the walk in air is so easy to pull off and even more broken than just headbashing into the final boss, unlike swimming in air or proxies it's something a normal player could easily just discover casually.
This was the first and only Spyro game I played as a kid. The weird thing is I remembered loving it. That's not to say that I didn't run into bugs or glitches, I certainly remember a lot of those, but that didn't necessarily reduce the experience for me. It's always kinda funny to hear how much everyone else seems to have disliked the game in comparison, which I can't fault anyone for. The fact that this run could have ended in mere moments is pretty funny, but it was worth not allowing that clip to see the strategies for Thieves' Den.
I remember as a kid not being able to find 2 gems (1 green gem) in the Luau level. I'd spend hours going through the level looking for it. years later I found it at the start of the level in the water hidden in a corner that for some reason I never thought to check as a kid.
I am used to seeing you glitch your way through games, but this one is just insane, so ridiculously broken. If anything, I'm more impressed than usual because you were able to devote such time to such a broken game without completely losing your mind! Bravo
I love games that are so broken you can beat them in less than 5 minutes!😂 It's also fun seeing you trying to complete as much of these games as possible while under very strict rule sets

I remember playing this game. Grew up on spyro, ripto's rage, and year of the dragon. Was excited when i saw this. Got to the ripto fight in this game and wondered where the rest of the game was
This game made me discovered my love for glitches. I found that you can just hold B and go through the gates and just play any level you want. I loved the feeling that I could do anything I wanted so much.
Damn dude, this is so thorough it's insane!! Also, it's hilarious to see just how broken this game is; the ground, the walls, the enemies, physics itself... they're all just suggestions in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
I LOVE Spyro, but this game was definitely the exception. Glad to see others feel the same about it. VERY cool video and honestly so amazing to see what things humans can accomplish even if it's pretty silly stuff like this haha. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
god this game… this is the first game that i ever played that made me completely break immersion. when i was little, i would mess around in the overworld and found a lot of the speedrun glitches. my biggest achievement was loading into the game with the floor to ripto already despawned somehow so i beat it in minutes. great game. inspired me to become a glitch hunter!
God even as a kid I knew something wasn’t right either. I started with year of the dragon and was obsessed with it, and then got this game and was… wildly disappointed. That being said this is such a fantastic video and it’s really cool to see what you can do when breaking the limits of the game
Agreed, the PS2 version must have been the best because I never had half as many issues as a lot of people seem to have. That said, it's not a great game, and the actual gameplay leaves a lot to be desired😂 Give me the original trilogy any day!
I haven’t watched that much yet but I plan too - but I just wanna say I remember having so much fun with this game. It doesn’t hold the same standards as the originals but man I loved doing the ‘swimming in air’ glitch and just roam around
My personal corroboration of how poorly the game was made is 1: my and my brother’s save file got corrupted when trying to enter cloud nine every time 2: back before I even knew what speedruns and challenge runs were, I accidentally got a swim in air glitch after getting lightning breath and swam into the final boss portal Also, clipping through doors by lowing the frame rate was something I’d seen in a SpongeBob: battle for bikini bottom speedrun where you rapidly open and close the pause menu to clip into locked containers holding a collectible; interesting to see it used elsewhere. Great video as always!
i woke up very sick and ill and this video being the first thing in my subscriptions tab cheered me up even after the revelation that i would have to stay in bed ❤ super interesting watch, had no idea most of this was possible in this game - especially the stuff on cloud 9
This must have been PAINFUL, but I learned a hell of a lot from watching this. For instance, the whereabouts of those missing 10 gems in Luau Island that 8-year-old me spent hours of his childhood looking for because HOW WAS HE SUPPOSED TO KNOW

Been checking my feed every other day for this one. 😂 Though I appreciate what you are trying to acheieve takes an enormous amount of time and patience.
I misread this as "glitching" instead of gliding and I was really impressed you managed to play enough of this game to create an hour long video without seeing some kind of bug or the game imploding in general and now I'm wondering if it's even possible to beat enter the dragonfly without seeing a single glitch, when I played this as a kid it wasn't uncommon to see the levels fall apart at the seams pretty much the second you entered it
Finally! I did this a year ago on the reignited trilogy, but I was surprised no one had ever uploaded it to youtube, I partly wish I had the proper equipment and recorded it, playing the whole trilogy without gliding was such a breath of fresh air, especially after playing it with gliding again. Ever since, I wish I could've done the same to this game, mainly because it's so broken LOL!
Enter the Dragonfly sure is a game alright. Opened this video expecting the Ripto glitch to come up as a technicality and was not disappointed. I'll always remember aimlessly charging through the homeworld as a child and falling into the boss fight. Wasn't until I started watching YT vids on this game many years later did I realize, no, I didn't somehow miss the portal opening up, I just clipped into the ground.
Spyro Enter the Dragonfly is so weird to me. Cause whenever I play it on my GameCube I NEVER have frame rate issues or glitches happen. But everyone else in existence does. It’s wild. Also great challenge hope you do A Hero’s Tale next :)
Your opening line is my exact feels. 1, 2, and 3 were amazing. 4 felt off, and I had no desire to keep playing. Many years later my sister got a new spyro and... no.
I loved the originals and the 2 after. The trilogy was definitely the best but honestly a heroes tail was really fun too. Enter the dragon fly was the first one I finished without my moms help as a kid.
I find it so funny that in a series where the point is to not use Spyro’s limited flight abilities, he actually appears to be much better at flying due to glitches lol
I stopped after Spyro 3 for the Ps1, never played any other Spyro game that came afterwards (with the exception of the Remastered trilogy of course), and seeing this tells me that i haven't missed much.
I really enjoy the videos you make. I can tell that you put in a lot of time and effort into them. I always watch them thru all the way too. Might I suggest, since you did Spyro and Rachet and Clank games, could you try maybe something with the Jak and Daxter games.
I love how some of the glitches you use in earlier levels compound on each other in later levels, challenging you like a good game would, just with unintended effects. It's quite cool.
The fisrt 20 seconds are litterally what I thought of this game !!! YET : this is the best OST of all times and I'm going to complete this game 120% right now !
If anyone ever wants to know why Enter the Dragonfly is, uh...like *this*...I’d highly recommend Mr. FO1’s documentary on the topic. It’s long, but it’s extremely well-researched and has interviews with people who worked on the game. It gets very dramatic at times. It’s a miracle the game was completed at all.
The slag Spyro game is finally done for good! 🥳 It's been a little bit more than a year now since I've found your channel and I'm not regretting subscribing to you ever since then. In fact, your runs never cease to amaze me and when I see a new video of yours, watching it asap is pretty high up in my priority list. 😁 Also I'm glad you are the first channel I've ever subscribed on Twitch. Sometimes I almost get drowned due to laughing but absolutely worth it 😀
I swear, I must be one of the few people who genuinely enjoyed this game when I was younger, can always remember playing it on GameCube and having so much fun lmao played for hours every time I went on it
I had it on GameCube too, and also genuinely enjoyed it. Growing up, I never understood why people always complained about it being so glitchy because outside of occasionally lagging, and the extremely rare moments where Spyro would unresponsively walk in circles, the game ran just fine for me. Turns out I was not only playing the more stable version, I also wasn't going out of my way to do these exploits.
As a kid, the only glitch i ever discovered on my own was swim in air. I had no idea how I did it and was so fascinated by this glitchy ability to fly forever that I didn't DARE go close to the ground for fear of it ending. I felt like I was playing a very laggy, ugly Dawn of the Dragon. It was AWESOME.
What’s so crazy about this game is that when I played it when I was younger, I didn’t experience any glitches whatsoever (that I can remember that is). It just felt mid and I went back to the originals afterwards, content to not play it again. Crazy to see just how broken it actually is lol
Fun Fact, when I got this game when I was like 8, my dad, who didn't really play games. Thought this was an older Spyro and wondered why I didn't get the new one as it looked worse than Spryo 3 to him :D
My God, that Thieves Den part was insane... The game is glitchy as hell but it was my first GameCube game. I still enjoyed it more than Season of Ice and Shadow Legacy. And chances are I would also love it more than Orange, but I never bought that one and I don't plan to.
This was my first spyro game and I loved it oddly enough and then didn't care too much for the others. I was a simple lad. Having multiple breath attacks was just visually fun for me except bubble.
man, this was the first spyro game I ever played, and honestly I loved it. granted I was like 6, so I didn't really encounter any glitches, but it was fun asf. had no idea it was the black sheep

It's been a little bit more than a year now since I've found your channel and I'm not regretting subscribing to you ever since then. In fact, your runs never cease to amaze me and when I see a new video of yours, watching it asap is pretty high up in my priority list. 😁
Also I'm glad you are the first channel I've ever subscribed on Twitch. Sometimes I almost get drowned due to laughing but absolutely worth it 😀
I swear, I must be one of the few people who genuinely enjoyed this game when I was younger, can always remember playing it on GameCube and having so much fun lmao played for hours every time I went on it
I also enjoy it! Game is good
I had it on GameCube too, and also genuinely enjoyed it.
Been looking forward to this for a long time
One hour long, imma enjoy this
I have been watching you guys for 5 years. And seeing this video in one sitting, brings back memories ❤😁🥳
Don't know why I was so excited to see this drop, I watched u do it live 😂
As a kid, the only glitch i ever discovered on my own was swim in air. I had no idea how I did it and was so fascinated by this glitchy ability to fly forever that I didn't DARE go close to the ground for fear of it ending.
I felt like I was playing a very laggy, ugly Dawn of the Dragon. It was AWESOME.
This makes me want to dig my PS2 out of storage just to bully this game for a while.
Bro, the beginning sent me! What are these hitboxes?!? XD
I’m so happy to see this video after catching most of the streams! Great job as always, Nathan
Lol when I read the title the first thing I immediately thought was of the instant final boss glitch
Love the content keep it up!
My God, that Thieves Den part was insane...
The game is glitchy as hell but it was my first GameCube game. I still enjoyed it more than Season of Ice and Shadow Legacy.
And chances are I would also love it more than Orange, but I never bought that one and I don't plan to.
39:16 I do love it when my barrels move around. Quite convenient for storing things
This was my first spyro game and I loved it oddly enough and then didn't care too much for the others. I was a simple lad. Having multiple breath attacks was just visually fun for me except bubble.
With all those bonks, a speedrun of this should be called headache%
Hour long NG+ video? Hells yeah!
man, this was the first spyro game I ever played, and honestly I loved it. granted I was like 6, so I didn't really encounter any glitches, but it was fun asf. had no idea it was the black sheep
I know you said no offensive language, but...
...I actually love this game and have finished it several times on PS2 with almost no issues.🗿
