It's impressive how many bosses the answer is "Yes" for, though. I mean in this game the only 2 bosses that ARENT beatable are the 2 very final bosses who don't even spawn till you kill the prior bosses.
The fact that the first boss alphabetically and the last boss alphabetically are both pretty much the exact same enemy is oddly beautiful, much like how in DS1 they were the first and second intended bosses respectively.
Just for reference, as soon as you start a (glitchless) game, your potential first bosses are: The Last Giant The Pursuer (as mentioned by @cainmorningstar6124, you can fight him once on the roof outside the blastable wall and it counts if you kill him.) Dragonrider The Old Dragonslayer Scorpioness Najka (Buy Melentia's FBoY) Royal Rat Vanguard (with enough HP and/or Silvercat Ring) The Rotten DragonriderS Fucking DARKLURKER (No, really, Grandahl isn't behind any bosses.) And Aava Am I missing someone?
Love what a unique challenge these alphabetical runs are. It seems like a glutted, tired genre of videos, but then something comes along like this. Always glad when someone does a DS2 run and doesn't spend the whole time complaining about the game. Looking forward to DS3.
It mostly just kills me the way creators act like there is a chance the challenge run they crafted is impossible. Like no one clicks on a “can you beat elden ring with only bows” video thinking it’s up in the air, no we know it’ll be hard but obviously feasible. So at least it’s kinda nice that these vids are legit and actually impossible sometimes. I really can’t recall a single “can you beat” vid that ended up impossible out of the hundreds I’ve seen (not counting this)
I feel like with the multiple-enemy bosses that it would’ve been acceptable to kill them all after you’d killed them in the intended alphabetical order In simpler terms, if you’ve already gone through the list normally, if you end up killing the last of the multiple enemies, just go ahead and kill the others
Holy heck, that was incredible. I hope that the run felt half as good to finish as it did to watch. Nothing quite like having to repeat frame perfect bugs, manage out of bounds navigation on a time limit, and sequence break your way through a marathon of bosses that are themselves already difficult. Absolutely amazing, as always.
"that brings us to the Fume Knight..." I couldn't help but laugh out loud. What a wild way to run the game. Cheers to all the work for our nerdy entertainment.
I'll be honest, these videos are great and the only thing I'd change is a minor modification to the multiple bosses rule, where when fighting the last boss for a fight, all other bosses in the fight must also die. You'd still fight them in order and leave, just once the last boss is reached in the order, all the others must be killed again. For example, congregation would be killed once on it's own, then again when the priest fight comes up. Just my opinion tho, lord knows I don't have the skill or patience for anything like this
What the hell man? This is insane, you never cease to surprise me with the techniques and methods you apply! Fantastic work, I can't even imagine how much effort went into this. Great video again! Love your content! Easily one of the best challenges I've seen done in these games!
What I love in your videos is that every one of them is like you telling us about a cool puzzle you've solved. And you do it so passionately and clearly its not confusing. Which is an accomplishment!
I appreciate the commitment but I really want to you to know that many of us won't mind if you killed the bosses that have multiple like the prowling magus and the congregation after defeating them in order. for example if you killed the congregation, left until the magus then killed the congregation again (as it's still first alphabetically) then killed the prowling magus in the same fight. or if you feel like you've already killed the congregation and leaving them for after the magus that works too.
So happy to see this! Your previous video for Dark Souls bosses in alphabetical is probably my favorite challenge video of any game. This one definitely lives up to it. Wildly impressive what you accomplished. (The little cameo of your wife was also very cool)
One thing Ds2 did absolutely right is how much freedom you have in your journey. You didn't need to use a single glitch until after the first dlc boss!
I got whiplash every time you said "Hunstman's _Copse"._ Then I looked it up, and that's actually what it's called. Somehow I _always_ read it as "Hunstman's _Co _*_r_*_ pse"._ Great video btw!
Easily the most impressive and complete breakdown and execution of a challenge run I've ever seen. This was literally like Master thesis levels of work and knowledge how do you not have 8 million to subescribers
You are criminally underrated my dude. You are right up there with legends like ymfah and The Spiffing Brit in my eyes. Legitimately good show, you should be proud!
This playthrough proves why Ds2's world and gameplay is still solid. Not interconnected, or open world, but still solid. And I still like a bunch of these goofy muthers. Covetus Demon, Skelton Lords, Demon of Song. It's goofy and absurd for an absurdist depiction of fantasy. I love it.
finally! i loved the video you made on ds1. I hope you do this for the other souls games aswell. This is such a unique concept for a video of this style.
Incredible job. The amount of creativity and painstaking detail it takes to perform these challenges is insane, and I it's both entertaining and informative to see them pulled off. I couldn't imagine trying this myself so I'm glad someone out there is patient (and crazy) enough to do so. Seriously, your work is awesome, and I can't wait to see what's next
With the group bosses, I think your decision was right to always only kill the one that was next on the list, but I think once you killed one, you should be allowed to kill it again. Technically it should be "dead". That way you could have truly wiped the map and if attempting such a thing again, you'd have the reign over that area, no more skipping needed. So if a boss is made up of three enemies, upon killing the first, you can also kill it on the attempt of the second enemy and both on the attempt of the third. To keep the challenge alive though, you still have to kill all of the 3 in their own respective order.
DS1: massively OP item dupe and item quantity use DS2: Flying being able to skip giant parts of the game DS3: Couple small skips that don’t really help with much because of the things required to do it
Usually people don’t count the “the” as part of the name. Look at your music playlist in alphabetical order and most songs will be under the next word not the “the. That how I would have treat the challenge, but it probably wouldn’t effect it anyways.
If I ever try this run, I’m gonna allow myself to kill bosses I already killed if they’re in the same arena as my next target, as long as I do it in order. They should be dead, I’m just making sure of it. (Ex: Congregation when I hunt Prowling Magus)
once again just amazing. I would have thought it would be way less. Some skips are just insane and i love how you explain the details of glitches. Cant wait for your next video.
@@handtomouth4690 someone did that, but only with remembace, Imagine with all the bossfights, that would be awful, as well as imposible at times ( one example would be astel, alecto might be posible with zips )
I personally feel that, for bosses that are actually just multiple bosses stacked in a trench coat, you can kill all of them in 1 run, but only on your last run. So, for the congregation bit, you kill the congregation, leave, then eventually come back and kill both, though with congregation first. Or, you kill the Afflicted Grave robber, leave, kill the Ancient Soldier, leave, then kill Afflicted Graverobber, Ancient Soldier, and Cerah in 1 run.
Vendrick losing his title as King by the time you fight him makes so much sense in the lore of his character, I'm surprised I didn't think about before.
Spoilers of the video below! The fact that the conclusion of this run resulted in the only two bosses not defeated being the final two is so funny, very opposite to most runs in a weird way
For any more you do, for multi boss fights I'd say modify your rule so once You've killed the last boss (in order ofc, coming back each time), treat yourself and finish the fight.
I suppose this would cut down on the cool tricks, but I always felt that having to kill each boss exactly once wasn't right. It felt more like the fun of the challenge was avoiding bosses until they came up in the order, but once you've reached them you've sorta unlocked them.
I absolutely love your channel. Watched all your videos and I am blown away with your level of research and expertise. I’m sure these vids are a lot of work but please keep them coming. Great work.
Back at it again with the "technically no but let do the challenge run anyway!" Are you considering doing DS3 next? Although that one seems to be a much more firm *no* as a few bosses make it outright impossible without some heavy rule bending
Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring still left to do. Demon's Souls feels like it would be literally impossible to do in this order because of how the game is set up.
Welp first boss starting rough A lot of strong bosses starting with A in their name, even in DS 1 :P' Btw this video makes me realize again how OPEN ds2 truly is. You can literally skip pass to the final level of the game w.o beating any boss. The 4 main bosses are entirely open too and you can pick whichever direction you wish. I rly think ppl dont realize that DS1 and DS2 are actually "open world" but not in traditional sense. Elden Ring is not From's first open world game.
Imagine being a skilled warrior deciding to invade the world of some other curse bearer to fight them, only for them to effortlessly parry your attack, then while you're lying on the floor defenseless they suddenly leap over you, and start running through the air and off into the distance like a madman.
I think it should be absolutely fine to fully kill multi enemy bosses if you're on the last one. Like congregation and prowling magus, you should be allowed to kill magus and then the congregation to fully clear them. But only after you've passed the congregation and all the bosses between them and magus

Thanks a lot! DS3 is being researched right now, it's going to be very difficult, but we're hopeful. In the meantime, I am working on two other videos first 😁
I don't know much about DS3 or Sekiro, but I think Elden Ring would be quite difficult with Beast Clergyman being so high up on the list above other Leyndell Bosses. Not only would getting there be difficult on current and future patches(and may require playing on older ones), but killing it makes certain other bosses from Leyndell inaccessible unless you found a way to get back to original Leyndell after doing so.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels, and your dedication to these challenges is insane. I’m really looking forward to the Bloodbourne version of this challenge. 😉

Perfect 2am video, so glad people actually like this game
Couldn't you, technically, be summoned by a friend to beat Aldia and Nashandra? lol, you would still be beating them in a way.
Great video BTW!
Oh yeah, I've been waiting for this one. Gonna go get some popcorn.
Hopefully Dark Souls 3 in alphabetical order is planned for the future.
