Port injected engines are better, in my opinion. Also use less fuel than direct injection. This is my real life experience, but may be different for others. I would rather have less power and a longer fuctioning engine, than the opposite.

I agree Port injection does offer simpler maintenance and can avoid carbon buildup, which helps longevity, but direct injection is generally more efficient (mostly depends on the driving and overall condition) and powerful. I also appreciate the easy to maintain and less complex port injected engines. Its a trade off...
