Never buy a car with a CVT transmission.

Can anyone help / advise about Yaris 2006 semi-automatic, car start nicely engine running without noise , but Engine light showing, was driving on motorway the car loose power , when gassing more hard the car doesn't go the speed expected, finally I pull out & stop & switch the engine for awhile. Then restart the engine ,no problem bug when I put th gear on ' Drive ' & gas , the car doesn't move at all. Any help please, very appreciated . Thx U.

Had an engine replaced in our 2017 Escape and afterwards the "auto start" feature no longer functioned! HEAVEN!!! I knew I would be the one left stranded by a bad started from all those starts if it ever occurred.

I haven't read 685 comments, and therefore someone might have answered this already. There are two badly flawed comments. 1) Nothing is said about the automatic transmission. The transmission fluid also needs operation temperature to function properly. There was a case were I wasn't able to drive a 15 passenger van that was standing for 3 days exposed to cold wind for 30 minutes. It took another 10 minutes before van was actually moving before there was no "driving like through molasses." The temperature was above 32 degrees but because of the high humidity there was a severe wind chill. 2) How many people can actually go onto the road with a cold engine/gearbox and drive slowly till the car has warmed up? How many do not wait long enough, minimal operation temperature reached? What is missing is: At what time is is safe to go onto a busy road, able to drive based on the traffic?

The stop/go function is an inbuilt engine killer.

Hi. I have subaru outback 2009 . While I was driving and trying to turning, sometimes engine suddenly cuts off. But, I can be turned on again. Do yo have any suggestions to fix that? The other things, while I was driving and using cruise control, while the road is bumpy, check engine, vehicle stability control and electronic parking will be active. Do you have any suggestions to fix that? Thank you

I have a 04 monte carlo car has shut down while driving and usually started right up again , sometimes no start with no crank just nothing at all wait a while and it starts my regular mechanic doesn't know suggested i go somewhere else , any information is appreciated THANKS

I had an Audi a5 sportback once and it stop started 18 times in less than a mile. Apart from that it was a great car. I hate the crap idea.

my mechanic said my ecu is crapping out. it starts the first time with no issues. runs like a clock. does everything a car should do. but if i kill the engine, i either have to wait 10-15 min for a hard start or i keeo blipping the throttle while cranking and it'll start.

does this method include 2021 f150 models? My 2015 F150 had power going to things like the 12 volt plug for up to 15 minutes after the truck shut down. The 2021 the 12 volt turns off immediately. Thanks

I put new shocks on my 2010 Corolla they feel a lot better but they don’t have that smooth feeling when going over bump or potholes like other cars I’m thinking changing out the tie rod ends

The engine starts perfectly, accelerates smoothly even in sudden tap on the accelerator. But few minutes while cruising you ĥear sound like puff of air coming out of combustion. That is the start of a cyclinder misfiring. What components malfunction where speed and time are the parameters? The should give a clue.

Ford has done a great disservice to its customers. Bowing the knee to the EPA, in an effort to increase the average fleet gas mileage, Ford has systematically reduced the weight of its vehicles. That includes reducing the size and capacity of the battery, reducing the size and capacity of the alternator, replacing hydraulic systems (eg. power steering) with electrical systems, and installing the extremely annoying Auto Start-Stop system. All these changes have a consequential impact on the electrical system. Batteries will die after about 2 years and given Murphy's law that will happen at night on a holiday weekend many miles from home. Thanks Green New Deal and thanks Ford for ruining a good product.

No. Don't wait 30 to 60 seconds then just go. Waiting until the rpm dips below 1000 is necessary as well. Shifting out of park above that causes premature wear on the transmission.

My turbo does not like idling, which negatively impacts its longevity.

There is no dip stick and even if you had one, you can't check the level with it. There is a bolt you remove in the tranny under the car that you use to see if it is level.

Do the first and second also apply to brand new cars?

You cannot fill Diesel into gasoline cars because the diesel pump is thicker and wont fit, the opposite can happen tho

No start stop on an EV

140,000 miles in my 2016 Hyundai i30 1.4 (petrol), with A/C always on, and auto stop/start always on, and the car hasn't missed a beat. The original battery is still fitted, and the oil level remains constant between 20,000 mile changes. The mpg display shows 45-47mpg, so I'm happy.

I drive PHEV, you drive on Ev mode then without noticing anything you find you are on ICE, this happens more in colder days, not much I can do

My mom did this costly mistake to her 04 Civic and drove until the car broke down. Supposedly they took the diesel out and cleaned the fuel Injector system and replaced the spark plugs. That diesel fuel ended up costing her $800.
