George Foreman publicly challenged Seagal to a no holds barred fight. He would wear boxing gloves and Seagal could kick, bite, and whatever other "techniques" he chose. When asked why the challenge, George replied- "I just want to shut him up".

One time when I was walking through a rough area of Japan or America or something, I was attacked by a group of ninjas or yakuza or gangsters or whatever, when suddenly Steven Seagal appeared out of nowhere and spoke to them, real low, in Japanese or native American or something like that and they all bowed and then turned to me and apologized and then left. I turned to thank Steven but he was slowly disappearing into the shadows while awkwardly maintaining eye contact.
If you're reading this, thank you Steven. I think you might be my father.

I was exploring an ancient tomb once, when I accidentally activated a rolling rock trap. I ran but I thought I was done for, that is until Steven Seagal burst out of the wall right behind me and caught the giant bolder between his toes. The stone shattered out of shear confusion. I started to thank him but he put a hand on my shoulder and shook his head.
"This way." He said, and walked to the end of the tunnel, to the tombs chamber. In the chamber was treasure piled high around a golden sarcophagus, it was a wonder no one had plundered this place, until I noticed the mural on the wall. It was Stephen Seagal, Steven Seagal's brother, pharoah of Egypt. Steven protected this place the whole time. I turned to look at him but he was gone, he'd taken the whole room with him, so I stood alone in the tunnel.
If you ever read this Steven, thank you.

One of the biggest character flaws Steven Seagal has is being Steven Seagal. Theres a story he tells about how he "took on the mob", when he was shaken down by them, and the FBI, to get him to testify, played him tapes of the gangsters making fun of him and how scared he was at the meeting. Funny, bc that was his story to his second wife: that he was in the Mafia. Now, he says he WAS an "enforcer" for the Gambino Family but that he had an attack of conscience and became some kind of undercover agent for the FBI..You have to hand it to him, though, he doesnt allow things like time, physics or reality to get in the way of a good story. So far the guys been a mobster (for both the Yakuza and 'Cosa Nostra), an FBI agent, a CIA agent, a Navy Seal, a blues musician (who speaks in a stereotypical Southern black accent), a professional fighter, and I'm sure I'm missing a lot. Hes like a child, he really is.

So the dick Clark producers brought me the tapes to make it airable. I was in a linear suite, meaning the only way I could change a pitch was to change the speed of the a roll. Wasn't gonna work but I oppressed as a few more producer types trickled in behind me. Finally I turned around while saying, "guys, ya can't polish a turd".

Seeing what Seagal became is vindication for me and my gut feeling. Way back in his hayday, I wasn't a fan. I was a huge Van Damme nut. A couple of friends were more into Seagal and we bickered about who was better on and off screen. Van Damme made some bad decisions and messed up his life for a while but he finally got his crap together and came back. He demonstrated that he has an actual redeemable personality -- something Seagal never possessed and never will.

When I saw the film JCVD on Blu-ray Disc, Van Damme demonstrated himself to have a level of insight that is the hallmark of all the people worthy of respect. He knows he fukked up, he tries to redress it and move ahead, and he tells his audience he will try to uphold his end of the bargain going forward. Seagull is a massive tit who will never have any self-reflection, never mind to that level. I would not be surprised to learn Seagull is a malignant narcissist or an example of antisocial personality disorder.

When I was a kid, my mom worked at video store in our small upstate NY town. At the time, Seagal was at the peak of his fame, and some of his posters were hanging up in the store.
One day, a woman who was a regular customer comes in, gives a disgusted look to one of the Seagal posters and says something to the effect of, "I despise that man."
My mom asked her why, and the woman goes on to tell her about how her daughter was married to Seagal for a very short time, and that he was horribly abusive to her, and regularly cheated on her. She then said that once he had used her daughter (a moderately successful actress) to make connections with people in the film industry, he walked out on her. A few years after the marriage ended, his career exploded and he was suddenly famous.
The wife shown in the black and white picture in this video, Adrienne La Russa, was the woman's daughter. They were from NYC, but the mother had a place just outside of our town in upstate NY.

One thing a lot of people today do not get is that a lot of Children Of The 1980s got their first exposure to martial arts not from films but videogames. Whether it was in arcades or on home computers like the Commodore 64, we ended up with a very limited move set, tournament-oriented idea of the martial arts. Seagull clearly based his idea of how martial arts should look on that. Cool-looking moves with stuff-all regard for how practical they would be in real life. Van Damme's or Jai White's or Lundgren's moves in films might be a little overdramatic and overelaborate for the real world, but they will work in some contexts. Especially Jai White's.

As far as I am concerned the ultimate 10/10 “let’s collectively and publicly laugh at this a*hole and politically and societally declare him an unwanted person and never bring any of his work to any big distributor again” is his hole Russian politics thing, him singing in occupied territory weeks after annexation, his great Putin buddies; him entering the pro-putin “opposition party” (you know, as is normal in authoritarian just-for-show-democracies; to soak up oppositional voters only to then behind the scenes don’t actually do anything). Him being a lobbyist for the Russian WEAPONS industry; his cute buddy visit with his Belarusian dictator friend. Oh Btw, he is one of the last western celebs who (even among those who were pro-Putin before) still hasn’t (and won’t) denounced the Russian -special operation- (what a fcking joke…) *invasion* in Ukraine - there is so much more really bad stuff, it’s crazy!

A perfect example of when someone actually is a pretty cool and interesting person, but ruins it with their ego and narcissism. Humility is the coolest characteristic anybody can have.

    • @avruvimtu2204
      @avruvimtu2204 ปีที่แล้ว

Humility is overrated. Nobody cares about your sheeplie ideas or what the loser stalking sheep think who try to "laugh at" him but all they literally accomplish is actually prive they are pathetic sad losers laughing like lunatics and morons in their persecutory delusions.
The many are always cry amd beat themselves in their agony and neurotuc hysteria over the success of the few. Muhammad Ali even actually pointed out thar humility is trash.

It's wild and worst of all his movies are ALL made at a multi million dollar loss, is he just laundering money or what?
