Dyson DC44 cutout, motor housing opening and cleaning

A Dyson DC44 continued to cutout despite a good battery and clear airways. A stripdown and cleanout of the motor internal airways and PCB caked with plaster dust seems to have "cured" it. Note my brutality has left the cover with collateral damage, you might choose to open it with a spludger/blunger lever thing. There may be a temperature sensor that was somehow malfunctioning? Your thoughts?
