Of all the hard games I've seen Mike play, he ends up super raging and screaming at the top of his lungs ... at a Mario game. Huh, who'd have thought? :/ Funny to watch though. XD
Burn: Cycle is by far the best CD-i game. I played Burn: cycle back in 1994 and it blew my mind! Burn: Cycle was in my opinion the only game on CD-i to show what the console was actually capable of.
In case you want to play Hotel Mario again, press Button 2 and Down in order to save. Not too cryptic, but not too obvious. Trust me, it took me a while to figure that out.
The best episode of Gummi bears was the one called "for a fist full of sovrens" where the Duke hires Medevil Clint Eastwood to catch the Gummi bears which he does with little effort. "go ahead take my pay!"
skijumpnose Coming from someone who steamed the whole game, it gets EXTREMELY stressful in the later levels. It was a good concept but I didn't come out of it thinking it was fun, sorry
epiccreepertnt I think the game is a lot of fun. It's very hard towards the end, but it's more of an action-puzzle-platformer. Figuring out how to beat a stage is part of the fun, IMO.
It really is! In stage 2 Mike missed the part about fixing the electricity. I figured out how to fix them by myself! =) Also it seems there is a way to save which I explained in my previous comment.
Burn cycle flashback dragons lair the apprentice mutant rampage body slam secret mission lemmings mad dog Mcree 7th guest Tetris alien gate also I can fix that squeaky cd drive if you haven't already
One of the things that really sucks about CD-I is that it's apparently impossible to emulate, so you have to find one if you want to play/record games for it.
Mike you need to lube the CD disc trays gear to get rid of that horrible noise lol, and possibly also replace the drive belt if you are having problems opening/closing it
@@AnAverageGoblin my aunt had one and my family had one at home. I never played the one at my house. It may have been broken. Whenever I visited my aunt and cousins I played Laserlords, Zelda, hotel mario, wacky miniature golf and the marble game Mega Maze. Im lucky she didnt have us playing christian games.
The CDi is a ticking time bomb. There's a memory chip inside the console that has a battery imbedded inside the chip itself. Once that battery goes the system is basically dead.
Says he's going to play good CDI games then spends most of the stream playing hotel mario. This trash should have been a 1980 arcade title, or maybe a port to nintendo, not a cutting edge 1994 CDI title. It's an example of people with too much money to spend, who want to make a console and be a game developer, but had no fucking clue how to do any of it. I still don't know what they were thinking. They must have ignored every logical person who knew about their plans and tried to tell them it was going to bomb hard. If you gave me this console as a kid, I'd have switched back to SNES in a day, and never touched this shit again.
If you were given a CD:i as a kid with the game Burn: Cycle you would have thought it was the best console ever! You would later learn how terrible it is once you realize it's the only great game on the console.
It was more than a gaming console. It could play movies, music cd's, had an internal memory. Some had excellent sound quality. I've always loved the cd-i back in the day, because of all the functionalities. There were a few gems on the system as well.
Mike, can you believe it; Plumbers don't wear ties is getting PS4, PS5, NSwitch, Xbox series X ports... it's very strange (we get this instead of GTA 6, a new Simpsons title or even the Getaway 3) ?!
In response to your questions.. Hotel Mario isn't a bad game. I would probably play it over the Pac Man game. The CDI is technically a great system for the time, but it was overpriced and had poor game development.
okay, i admit, i had to search to find out the secret to hotel mario, since i never played it... the “secret” is you had to keep killing the enemies and eventually they stop coming out and you weren’t killing them, you were trying to avoid them. and the funny thing, i was sitting there scratching my head saying why is he hitting each caterpillar only 3 times and then not finishing them off? and then he killed one and another one comes out, so i forgive you for thinking they were endless, but if you would have killed the second ome that comes out, they would have stopped. and I see he eventually figures it out, but then in level 10, wtf, did he suddenly forget that Mario can jump?! you know, that thing he does in EVERY Mario game?
Guess he thought the boss was invincible for some reason! Was hella entertaining watching him fail so I'm happy he didn't get them forst try 😂 still weird he didn't at least try to jump on the boss's head for so many tries tho lol
Oh yea the marble game on cdi should be good. And its a slow shit game but I still want to see someone play lazerlords. I dont think i ever got passed the early part of the game.
Over 2 hours of Hotel Mario... Mike Matei you've outdone yourself!
Of all the hard games I've seen Mike play, he ends up super raging and screaming at the top of his lungs ... at a Mario game. Huh, who'd have thought? :/
Funny to watch though. XD
they need to port this to the switch, man.
Day 1 purchase for me if it happens! xD
Shouldn't it actually be Hotel Bowser? Since you're in Bowser's hotels trying to find the princess?
Mike looks like he needs instructions. He should check out the enclosed instruction book.
real men don't read instructions
I take instructions from nobody. Not even the enclosed instruction book.
Spaghetti!
@@MrEvol94 lol
Has Mike announced when he'll do "The Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe" CD-i?
xaingo76 he played it already.
Nice of Mike to invite us for a stream of Hotel Mario, ay Luigi?
I hope he and James made lots of spaghetti!
@@NicklasZandeVGCP2001 When day James and Mike mondays come back (one day I hope) they should revisit this game. XD
@@NicklasZandeVGCP2001 Luigi, look! It’s from Fred Fuchs!
Press down on the direction pad and hold button two. That'll bring you to the save menu.
Anthony Peters does the *Enclosed Instruction Booklet* say anything about it?
Yes, the instruction booklet tells this. The only place to do this though is at each stage's title screen.
Mike here is the solution
Where there's smoke, they pinch back.
OMG this stream was hilarious 😂 Thanks for the laughs Mike. Sorry about the stress you went thru though but it was a fun watch.
Lol CDI is hilarious
33:22 Bowser sounds like the Mortal Kombat 2 narrator.
There's gotta be a way to save your progress because there's a 'restore' when you start a game..
You get the option to save if you press "no" on the continue screen after you die lol
The tray noise...lol
Cd-i Zelda games marathon next!
Shame Mike missed the toaster room. It's probably the best cutscene from the game
9:04 Mike's Elvis impersonation always gets me, it's good. lol
Damnit. Missed the live stream.
Burn: Cycle is by far the best CD-i game. I played Burn: cycle back in 1994 and it blew my mind! Burn: Cycle was in my opinion the only game on CD-i to show what the console was actually capable of.
Say "Burn Cycle" more.
Hey Luigi! Play the sax!
lol - Mike is losing his mind playing this shitbox !
If there was a follow up to the original Mario Brothers game, then this might be what it would’ve looked like.
TH-cam POOP! WHERE THERE’S SMOKE, THEY PINCH BACK!
i think it would been a smarter move to play rampage today matei
Pac-Panic looks like a combination of Tetris and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, right?
brembo baggins lol mike says his name like every stream. Brembo? like brembo brakes? for your car? Ive always wondered.
This stream taught me that Mike would be a really good punk/grunge singer.
Imagine the heights of success Mike could achieve if he used his memory for something productive instead of 80s show tunes and commercials.
Great attempt Mike! It's too bad the game kept having those problems close to the end.
Mike has a new Superman 64
It's called hotel Mario
Mike now must finish this thumbs up this comment to make it happen
nice try
Dude This was epic
Lmfao when hotel mario glitched 😂😂😂 fuckin game is possessed by the devil
At least (and to some sadly) these machines are dying on their own. In a few years there will be none left that are operational without heavy work.
We have the patents though, right? So we could just make them, not easy but it's definitely possible.
How the fuck is that disc still in one piece?
jonniesharpy you'd be surprised the amount of patience people have
I for one have never chucked a controller into a hard surface in anger
Thank you Mike for such a quality stream; you finally played some decent Phillips CD-i titles and not garbage like Plumbers don't wear ties. ! ✌️👍🤔🤣
Funny enough I know kind of enjoy watching videos of Plumbers don't wear ties for the Phillips CD-i (there is also the rare a Windows PC version).
I'd like to see you doing a stream where you play all the atari consoles, or at least the 7800 and the jaguar, I find them interesting.
In case you want to play Hotel Mario again, press Button 2 and Down in order to save. Not too cryptic, but not too obvious. Trust me, it took me a while to figure that out.
Burn:Cycle was my favorite game
If the idea was getting decent CDi games I think 7th guest should be in there
Hotel Mario could have been a great game if it had been released for the atari 2600.
Don’t open the fuckin 🚪 opens 🚪👀
The best episode of Gummi bears was the one called "for a fist full of sovrens" where the Duke hires Medevil Clint Eastwood to catch the Gummi bears which he does with little effort. "go ahead take my pay!"
Hotel Mario is actually quite fun,it should of been released on the SNES rather than the abomination that is CDi

epiccreepertnt I think the game is a lot of fun. It's very hard towards the end, but it's more of an action-puzzle-platformer. Figuring out how to beat a stage is part of the fun, IMO.
What other challenges are there later on besides closing doors and killing enemies? Genuinely curious.
It really is! In stage 2 Mike missed the part about fixing the electricity. I figured out how to fix them by myself! =) Also it seems there is a way to save which I explained in my previous comment.
lmao funniest stream ive seen

all hail stayhydratedbot
grateful I could not afford one as a kid, I wanted 3DO just for Street Fighter
I wonder if u unlock luigi if u beat the game?
I finally found a picture of your member this morning, Michael.Very impressive!
One of the things that really sucks about CD-I is that it's apparently impossible to emulate, so you have to find one if you want to play/record games for it.
Mike, I would love for you to play Duke nukem. I love those games. But play it with James and Ryan!!!!
I’m honestly surprised Ljn never made any games for the CD-i. They would have fit in with the system’s library perfectly.
Why the fuck does nobody ever play the apprentice
Mike's decent into madness throughout the video was the most hilarious thing I've seen in years.
That Cd-I tray sounds like Chewbacca takin’ a shit!
Mike you need to lube the CD disc trays gear to get rid of that horrible noise lol, and possibly also replace the drive belt if you are having problems opening/closing it
N64 games mike....conkers would be a great shout!
L wom a Conker playthrough would be awesome, Mike!
People say Sad Satan is from hell but Hotel Mario is truly from hell
Play Claymates for the SNES.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this was the most hilarious stream you have ever done Mike. 🤣
Lol even Mike messed up, thinking Plumbers Don't Wear Ties was on CDi, I did the same thing, but it was on 3DO, not CDi.
I liked playing Hotel Mario as a kid. I think there was some bullshit with the hitboxes if i remember right. That was the only problem.
I refuse to believe you owned this shitbrick of a console as a small impressionable child

even the cdi hates hotel mario, keeps rebooting.
How the fuck can you die if you jump right on top of an enemy instead of touch it?
The glitch goblin stuck at Mike's attempt at 1:22:48
But why Mario's pants are constantly changing colors?
Thumbs up for singing The Gummi Bears theme song.

A 1980 arcade title can still be fun to play though. You can do a lot worse on CD-i.
Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe speed run?
Before the X Box
There was the Phillips Sh** Box
Oh god, I missed this!? Fuck!
Also @Cinemassacre your save data ic is probably dead and needing a new one to save games
why is there always somethin you don't know? BECAUSE YOU DONT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS
Mike play PAC ATTACK on the snes is the same as PAC PANIC but with a decent control
the puzzle mode is a blast I think that James and you will love it
sega cd does what cdi nintendont

Mike can you and James please play Rush N Attack for the NES please.
Seems like Mike is taking over Cinemassacre... Not sure if I like that idea!
Isn't that S video. Not RGB?
You should be best friends with someone named Matt Mikkei.
You need a compressor for your audio setup. Everytime you yell "FUCK!!" it's RIP headphone users.
Oh yea the marble game on cdi should be good. And its a slow shit game but I still want to see someone play lazerlords. I dont think i ever got passed the early part of the game.
My god I have to watch how bad the dialogue is for Nintendo characters on the cdi
What is the best Cdi game is like asking what is the best STD to get. There probably is a "best one" but they are all bad.
U HEARD A DYING CAT?
Mad Mathafuckin Mike Matei!
Pac panic. Like pac ackkck
I kinda liked the mario game, but you really need to read a manual on it...
