I learned this song when it first came out by playing and rewinding the cassette tape for hours and hours till I had it right. Pretty sure my mom got really sick of hearing it for about a month
bro i was born in 97 so i was in internet age and when i was younger like 8 i got lessons so , i have such a high respect for you n everyone else who learnt these or any songs by just listening to the songs on cassette, vinyl or even Cd... like to me that takes a skill i cant comprehend, i dont like to call my self musically inclined but i know how to stay on beat n how to stay on time etc but just learning a song by just replaying a record is super hard brother.... much respect!! (im thankful i have youtube im 25 rn lol i envy u being alive n young in the 80s i would give my left nut to be 11 when in 1983..
@@sleevelessace Thanks Man. Back then you either learned the songs you wanted to learn by listening and figuring it out, you'd get lucky and a magazine would have the notes or tab to the song you wanted to learn, you might get lucky and find the sheet music at a music store or you learned from your friends. Used to be if one friend figured something new out, he'd show it to all his friends. I will admit learning new songs and even some techniques is waaaaaay better by video. I'll take TH-cam over the hard way any day. I took classical guitar lessons for seven years, so learning or figuring out the songs wasn't the hard part. Getting the timing down right was hardest for me to learn and you've got that figured out. With that and TH-cam at your fingertips, you'll be a guitar master by the time you're my age. I'm 52 and look back at the 80's and am so thankful I was alive and live from 10 to 19 years old during that decade. Some of, if not the best years of my life. I do wish I'd have screwed around less and taken school more seriously, but meh... my life turned out pretty good. If you're 25 then your younger years weren't too bad, but I do feel bad for the kids growing up in the 2020's and beyond. I think things are gonna suck for awhile before getting better. Thanks for the nice comment and good luck in the future
I just want to say to people that are learning off this video. at 1:45 only play the power chords, because the part at 2:10 is supposed to be played on bass.
I love all the work you do. You've given me a lot of inspiration over the years. That aside I find it quite hard to believe that 1 single note wasn't way off. I honestly felt it was a test lol
HELL YEAH MARTY YOU ROCK!!!! I literally was listening to this song and was like I bet Marty teaches how to play this and I was right Rock on Brother love your videos! (P.s do you think you can do a video on house of the rising sun but on electric guitar I’ve noticed is different because you taught how to play on acoustic) 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Lol welp I caught that reference to another one if their songs their songs there at 11:36. Great joke and even better tutorial been working on this song using this video in segments to learn my first metal song. Thanks a ton for this.
Hey @martymusic I love your videos including this awesome one but could you please make a video on how to play heart shaped box-Nirvana in standard tuning
the opening riff you don't need to be able to play it on guitar if you have a bassist who can play it or can play it on bass already all it needs is a bass wah peddle and the tone turned right up for it to sound like how they do it live
Hey Marty! Great video as always, i realt want to learn the solo in thin lizzys “dancing in the moonlight” maybe you could make a video of how to play the solo/song i would be so COOL🤟🏼 keep up the good work😃
Wuz up to the big homie Marty's! Always putting out great content. Just a suggestion from a beginner...it would be cool to see how you dial in your amp to achieve these sounds/ tones.
The bass lines to this epic track is where the real meat of the riff lies. The guitars are heavy but the bass is just in the pocket. Very cool lesson
I’d like to hear you teach “Ronnie” I think it’s one of their best riffs!
James Hatfield plays the ol telecaster in this one.
Best bass riff of all time IMO.
Cliff Burton was amazing.
ага, с такой кривой игрой - конечно " крутой урок"...
I learned this song when it first came out by playing and rewinding the cassette tape for hours and hours till I had it right. Pretty sure my mom got really sick of hearing it for about a month
Same here
