Marty Music I was wondering if you could do a video tutorial of how to play trivium - until my world grows cold that one of my favorite songs and life is hard at the moment and if I could play that song that would be great 😊
When my band plays it, my singer comes up with a factoid, “did you know that sky diving without a parachute will kill you”, and I reply with, “Wha! I didn’t know that” and *wham* into the song. She comes up with a different one each time.
Benn wanting to play this since the 90s. Im 41 now and just getting back into guitar and finally playing some these cool riffs. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Churr Marty For years I only knew how to play a 3 or 4 chord reggae strum.. Thanks to your break downs I'm now jamming things I never thought I could.. Shot bro
@Oliver Shreds Keep going at it man, you WILL get better. When I started to play the guitar I used to not even know how to do anything than the basic A, C, D, and G chords and even then my fingers would hurt so much because I didn't have calluses and the chords would buzz because I couldn't press them in enough. But now, playing all the basic chords is like breathing. DO NOT give up if you actually want to be good. It takes time, but once you can play the drums/guitar it is and will be super satisfying! Don't give up like I did before.
You show up in the darndest places (where I come from that is a word) . You have been teaching me acoustic guitar for years and whenever I decide to learn something new there you are. Thanks !!!
Awesome tutorial!! I remember when my mom taught me the bass lines to this entire album, some of the most fun songs on I've played on bass, now for guitar! Thanks Marty!
You are by far the greatest guitar teacher online too because every lesson you make it understandable to the beginning beginners and we love you for that
That's right, and it's finally not that hard to learn and play, very good for an intermediate player I think for starting playing hard rock songs like this...
I recently started working as a musicien for the first time in my life (I'm 39). Watching your videos really help me through my anxiety when learning new songs, or taking my guitar learning process more seriously as a middle age man. I love the way you make things so easy and enjoyable! Thanks a lot!!
See Marty Music video pop up in my feed: GRAB MY STRAT AND MY AMP, IM GOING ON AN ADVENTURE! Hahah, but seriously Marty, i learned Pearl Jam's "Porch" and RATM "killing in the name" today thanks you! Keep up the great work dude!
Damn Marty u definitely killed it in the name of Rage! I still want to hear u teach us Nothing Left by a little band called "Seapony" just love that melody!
Hey, Marty. You probably won't see this, but for the last couple days, I've been watching your videos. I have had a guitar for over 8 years, and only now have I been inspired to actually play. I changed the strings and immediately came to your videos. Song after song, I've begun learning how to play the guitar. I would just like to thank you for what you do. Keep rocking, man.
Man I just want to thank u I most definitely teaching myself how to play the guitar I can't afford lessons and just ur videos alone has made me better and made it more fun to learn thanks
Thanks Marty. As an early 80s baby iam finally learning these hard rock classics from the 90s on my Black Strat with hot noiseless pickups, her name is Sophie:) and she loves RATM so far. Marty's best of the 90s and maybe 80s vids here I come hehe
Always been hesitant about drop tuning because of a floating bridge but had a key at hand and tried it. All the other strings stayed more or less in tune and might do it more often now. Good lesson thanks!
i was honestly in a stump on guitar before finding this video, i've only been playing a few months but this song is badass and I enjoyed the hour i put into it :p
Ring finger? Middle finger? It's all the same... Only the names have changed. AHH! I cracked myself up! This song always makes me want to pogo. And I'm almost 60. Love your channel.
No super simple solo!? I’m relearning it. There is def def a chord around the third fret leading into the verse not featured here... Love you Marty! My main man for learning the basics to any song!
This was my second song after Iron Man (also from Marty), and it's really cool how I can transfer the muting techniques over to be able to pick this piece up almost right away. Thanks so much for another great tutorial!
I saw you do part of this song on a TH-cam short, and decided to try it myself, I’m glad I did after months of not playing, I’m playing again, thank you so much Marty. 🤟🎸
@Common Sense. Mate, you're the one who sounds like a child, having a hissy fit. "I get angry at people who disagree wah wah fucking wah" You sound like an overly defensive and sensitive, sexless douchbag
Thank you Marty! You explained the song (hymn for some generations) with a way that is very easy to understand. Its an everyday track to rock the building! Great job as always, keep it up and show us some more songs like bombtrack from the R.A.T.M. Great music produced back in the 90s, i hope you to teach us more form that decade. Cheers!
I love your channel man! Watching you has made me a better guitar player and I appreciate it. Keep it up! If you could do some more rage that would be amazing.
The mute effect that Morelo uses in the beginning is not a palm mute, he mutes the strings with the left hand after hitting the open string. This way you get a punch sound instead of a metal percussion on the open E “D” string. I like your videos very much, awesome job.
Heya! Nice work. Just a note, at the end of the song the build-up is actually triplet (or sixtuplet)-pulsed. At least on the old, scuffed up cd I have from the mid-90s. :)
Hey Marty, love the video. You've had a huge impact on my extremely short guitar playing career so just wanted to say thanks! Oh! Also, have you ever considered doing any City and Colour (Dallas Green) songs? Personally, I think they're phenomenal and carry a really unique sound. Cheers.
Man Marty, you give me inspiration with your progress over the last 3 years. You are sounding AWESOME!! Hopes I can keep up the practicing and match you someday. 🙏🤘🙏

I feel like I’m meant to play the drums instead of the guitar
@Oliver Shreds Keep going at it man, you WILL get better. So much gratitude to Marty for teaching us all these songs and guitar lessons in general.
Just started learning this, first song I learn on the guitar. This man is an absolute legend

Knew this song years ago but had my refresher with this one and I can't believe I didn't play this more... Thanks my friend for bringing it back!

@Common Sense take it easy pal
@Common Sense.
Mate, you're the one who sounds like a child, having a hissy fit. "I get angry at people who disagree wah wah fucking wah"
You sound like an overly defensive and sensitive, sexless douchbag
Common Sense this is the internet
@Common Sense yikes, i sense metal elitist. Sound is subjective, but you seem like some sheltered, toxic, crybaby. Smoke some tree and chill out, pal.
@Common Sense damn hope ur happier now dude xDD
Marty, this lesson proves, without a doubt, that you are crushing the instruction game! god!
My favourite tutorial on TH-cam

One thing.worth.to mention - neck pick up! He has recorded all thing (almost) on neck pickup in his (Morello) tele
