Raid shadow legends has circled around into legendary infamous meme status, but the money they pay to youtubers who sponsor them is entirely worth it if they can hook just a few whales (people who are psychologically inclined to dump their bank into the game). I don't know how I feel about promoting games who bank on that sort of predatory practice, but then again, Raid has been around long enough that if one is really dumb enough to fall for it I'm not sure how much I should feel bad...

The fanfare when the “bad ending” is presented made me die laughing. Cause its the same fanfare that would play when you would catch a fish on Toontown 😂
Oh my god, same here. Glad I’m not the only one that caught where the fanfare sound effect was from. The bad ending in the Lacey’s Diner video is so horrifying but the way that the regular fanfare plays even after witnessing what you saw in the buildup to it and the ending screen is almost darkly hilarious.

it remind me a lot of the Sue flash game series and the Devilish girls games. although its missing the _"pseudo anime style mascot that either has the most bright gradient colors or have flat basic primary colors"_ element from her character, but its a fresh concept nonetheless. (sometimes the 80s-90s VHS government tapes genre in analog horror can get a bit old)
yes, the artstyle makes it hard to suspend disbelief for me, if it was made in the pseudo anime polished style it would be much spookier tbh

It's so easy to just let the screamer go without warning, and I've had issues with youtubers in the past letting screamers scare me. I have very bad anxiety and paranoia, (i know amazing combo for a horror fan) so this is such a big help. Thank you, Goose. So much. ❤

Both Wardrobe and Diner are very interesting but I think Wardrobe is my favorite out of the two, mostly because of the 4th wall breaking of Lacey asking the player for help, and the "what have you done" line makes me uneasy in a more personal way than Diner, as if the player wanted to see what would happen out of curiosity, they insisted in doing it even when Lacey begged for help, being fully responsible for what happened. It's like doing genocide route but 10 times more fucked up. Even if she was just a character in a screen and I only saw her briefly with little time to get to know her, it still managed to make me care and wish she had a better ending. 10/10 muito bom, trabalho incrível :)

Fuck that first Lacey’s video terrified me like nothing had In years. I’ve just have that fear of faces watching me in the dark. Second Lacey’s was good but honestly I think it was just too “edgy” for me to take it seriously especially those customers.
I'm glad other people share this feeling, I was once texting a couple of my buddies and one was sending art, I saw a window and my first thought was, "seems like a face would fit there" and I almost couldn't sleep for the night lmao."
I think a reason could be is because Lacy is going through a mental breakdown where she finally breaks and lashes it out in the customers to the point it comes across edgy because she never had a proper way to deal with her abuse and instead repressed it and when she snaps, it caused her to repeat the cycle, causing her harm onto others; it's the same reason why whenever someone has a breakdown no one takes it seriously, unfortunately.
the second video freaked me out even more since if you pause to read the frames that are flashed, there is.. stuff that happened to her that i won't get into here ^^;

After watching first Lacey video and the second one, i start to think that each flash game tells a story about different girls. I know it's way too early to theorize, but i start to feel like something is off.
Wardrobe Lacey was [SENT TO JESUS] by a cannibalistic stalker, and Diner Lacey [GAME ENDED] herself after losing her job. I feel like Laceys in both flash games are different, even their personalities feel different. Wardrobe Lacey is calm, but when she is in danger she asks for help from the player. Diner Lacey acts nice, but she is more angry and rude, she swears a lot and serves "gross slop" to her customers without even questioning if it is worth it or not.
Lacey is definetely based on a real person, but i think every flash game tells a story of a different girl, who died in different ways and who lived different lives. But why would creator of these flash games do this?

I actually saw the Lacy videos before this video and funny enough I almost thought they were real early flash games too. This is the perfect next step in horror as kids who grew up in the early 2000s are way more nostalgic of Flash games then they would be of the VHS era. Lacy's game also has the added bonus of 'feeling authentic' because with flashplayer dead, theres no way to 'check' if the games existed. All you have are videos of these games, giving it a tinge of lost media flair. It adds to the horror in a pretty cool way.
Flash player being dead doesn’t mean the web pages for the games don’t exist. Also, Flashpoint has every damn game you could think of on there, even obscure or shitty ones.

15:57 - the audio mixing on the second Lacey video near the end with the customers is honestly some of the best horror audio I've heard in a while. It's so visceral and disgusting and captures the feeling that something is Very Wrong perfectly.
Really liking this resurgence of digital horror that is occurring as of recently.
Stuff like Fazbear Toddler Fun, Lacey Games, Morley Grove, and Bugbo makes me glad that people are starting to make horror content out of the things that came out during the late 2000s/early 2010s, a time that I grew up in.

That's such a real feeling that I don't hear people talk about a lot, just wanting people to know how long you had to fight, how strong you had to be. I love Lacey's Games, and can't wait for more, as those flash games were such a prevalent thing in my early childhood.

That Faraway Logs thing really cements to me that 2D animation over real life backgrounds (or at least photoreal CG) really does work. I think it would be interesting to see it more often. I guess I need to get off my ass to do it more often myself. :)
My biggest complaint with the Lacey series is that the art style feels too modern, like a modern interpretation of 2000s art rather than actually 2000s. The colors feel too drab for what would be on a bright and pink girls dress up game from the era.
Idk as someone who’s really into 2000s art inaccuracies just kinda bother me a bit much. It feels too much like “y2k aesthetic” type art as opposed to being authentic to what would’ve been in an actual girls dress up game

I watched the Lacey flash games when it had barely a thousand views. Gotta say, being too young to identify with analog horror, and not finding it that scary, "digital horror" is right up my alley. I remember being scared of sites such as Newgrounds because I saw a lot of screamers at the time. If I played Lacey, I would have been scarred.
Laceys diner is the best one cause I legit believed it. It actually does seem like an actual low budget kids game, like if someone made it for the sole purpose of scaring kids if they were curious enough to see what happens if they r u n out of time. And hardly anyone would know about it, cause who would ever fail with that much time??? But the dress up one is kind of believable as well, as there were plenty of prank games made for creeping out unsuspecting players. Remember the black licorice game from nickelodeon? Remember the my little pony creepy Luna game? There's tons more that we're actually on kids game sites. Great job to the creator, this was just too good. 👏

I like Vita Carnis, but I do think that it's questionably Analog Horror, it's only Analog Horror aesthetically (but I guess I can understand why the use the VHS filter seeing that they used puppets for their monsters, and having the VHS filter could help enhance that). By comparison, Happy Meat Farms is very HD with no analog/VHS stuff which fits so well, seeing that they have a modern corporate aesthetic.
Also bru we need more media like Faraway Logs, cartoons/anime in the style of a found footage is something that I've always dreamed of. And seeing Omori's themes and story elements it fits so well

I had no idea the Faraway Logs existed and now I’m following it. After watching the videos myself, I find that they’re very warm and comforting so far, despite the occasional uneasiness. The effort they put into these videos is really impressive, especially when it comes to the frame by frame redrawing of every image, even if they’re just standing in the same place, and perfectly replicating the sketchy style of Omori. I’m really interested how they will tackle the rest!
17:22 i've known about lacey games before this video, but i never caught onto the company's name being similar to cyanosis. it could be a reference to how lacey's skin appears as blueish/purpleish in some drawings of her, possibly referring to how she (or someone else, like the girl hooked to the wires) is already dead

Fun fact - the chime that plays in the background of this fucked up scene is actually one of japan's eas alarm.
The Lacey series, ESPECIALLY Wardrobe, actually kept me up for WEEKS after watching it, and every time I think about it, I get shivers down my spine. I've never felt so terrified when watching horror media like that in my life. I am REALLY happy tundra's getting the recognition they deserve, good god, actual standing ovation to them.

The love and dedication to the original game is so evident, both in the aesthetic and the presentation of the narrative. It portrays the soul of the game with so much care and I adore it.

While I haven't played or seen much of Omori, the animation of the Faraway Logs is so intriguing to me that even without its horror aspects, I would still definitely want to see more of what it could do.
More than anything, i find the date 06/29/2006 to be most ominous for me. It was just 9 days after my Grandpa had died (and we knew it was a murder) and i alone was spending the days with my Grandma in their house for the next 9 days. My entire world had collapsed..

But i was just 16 then and my brother was 7, i had no other proof except my words. Later the doctor confirmed that Grandpa was "mistakenly" taken off of the ventilator which killed him. And also the fact that that same son had starved my Grandma to death, and my mom and i tried to save her only to find out that we could be arrested if we do so, so...

10:30 "the image is edgy, if a little tryhard." i have a take about this. laceys diner was the first video i watched, and i _genuinely thought it was real_ until near the end. i dont say that lightly, i am a grown ass man whos been immersed in internet horror since i was a kid, and i genuinely thought until i checked the date and description that it was some "i found a weird horror game!!" video that was reuploaded or made by a little kid. i didnt think it was like a true haunted game but i believed it was something someone would make and upload to like newgrounds when that was still what people did.
*this is what old internet horror used to be like.* EXACTLY. this looks like it WAS made by a tryhard, _but a tryhard in 2011._ the jpeg splicing, the random creepy images, the blood covered anime character, the hyperrealistic eyes and shit. its so so so metatextually accurate to the time period. it wasnt until a bunch of more modern analog horror tropes started adding up together that i realized it was modern, but those analog horror tropes are DRENCHED in the visual language of late 2000s and early 2010s horror. i said verbatim "i could see this on newgrounds."

Omori is a special game to me as someone with PTSD and trauma relating to loss. I actually call it “my trauma game” and replay it when I feel myself starting to slip into a ptsd episode again. It’s always helped.
So needless to say- any Omori content is precious to me as well. This series left me in total awe. The irony is the perfect timing as well right now, I just started slipping again and then all of a sudden this video was recommended to me.
For my name being Lacey, not a very common name being used in a horror game is by far the scariest thing I have ever experienced

After having watched Carson play Omori recently, I can confirm that this game and the Faraway Logs hit me where it HURT. And they have left a lasting impact on me.
The Lacey games are very nice aesthetically. Lacey's diner is a little too in your face with the intensity, but that makes sense considering it's supposed to be the late 2000's.
You can't dismiss problems like things being too in-the-face with "well I guess it was done on purpose".
Genuinely, Lacey's fr got my booty clenching in fear. I usually dont get scared of digital horror but it gave me a shiver down my spine
Ty for speaking pretty positively about fanmade content, mainly cause I always feel like fancontent is a tad more underappreciated in the long run, sure it can be popular, but mostly in the fandom it's based off of, so appreciating it from a non fan's eyes, it's honestly so refreshing to see someone who isn't a fan appreciate such art.

Mostly images will be heard as a bizarre, loud, atonal static-y noise, rather than just soft background static over a discernable melody like this.
As much as I absolutely love vita carnis the only part that really scared me is the jumpscare because, it’s a jumpscare. But I’m so scared of Lacey’s wardrobe that I can’t even watch it, I’ve only seen people talk about it.
For context I’m a cis girl who is around 90lbs, I grew up in a dangerous neighborhood with a neighbor who I was constantly worried was going to kidnap me, and my grandma’s cousin was murdered by a serial killer when I was two. I’ve always been terrified that someone was stalking me and was going to kill or rape me, in fact since I was 12 every single nightmare I’ve had has been about getting kidnapped.
Now with this context I think you can see why Lacey’s wardrobe is absolutely terrifying to me.
i only got one faraway log recommended to me and its "meet my friends".. i never knew that there are other logs existing ..and the secrets behind it as well. I claim myself to be an omori fan yet here i am missing a lot out of it
(the way the creator hid these secrets is giving me ddlc vibes. i remember scavenging some secrets of the game by watching the game theorists back around 2018 :/ )

Bro, I caught a glimpse of this and I was immediately hooked.
Rejuvenation is like not even the right word, straight out just revived my interest for these kinds of things.
I like to imagine that Lacey is either sentient or possessed by the creator of the flash games, and she's being forced to endure the hellish scenarios the creator has imagined and experienced in her life on an eternal loop.
I don't know why, I just have a soft spot for the horror idea of a sentient character begging for help as they're forced to endure horrors they can't control. Maybe the creator of the games experienced a stalker, alao all the abuse with her uncle, and the games are all just Lacey forced to experience the constant hells envisioned by her creator, unable to escape due to her creator now being long dead.
I love the aesthetic the Lacey videos have, honestly reminds me of the same feeing I get when looking at Breakcore album art, especially those of Sewerslvt.
This sort of "troubled noise", that conveys so much emotion through so little, and through such a mess of visuals too.
Also, I think the name of the "game developer" is just Yaniaso, with the C being the copyright icon, but the placement of it possibly being a creative way to make be close to an anagram to cyanosis.
See that's what I thought looking at it as well, it seemed like a copyright symbol to me.

the fact that "faraway logs" is likely a reference to faraway town is just *chef's kiss*; also, as an aspiring animator, knowing that this was all done by one person makes it all the more phenomenal, all the clips look incredibly convincing!

this is the first time i've heard of the faraway logs, i just love the attention to detail the creator put into it! they made the neighborhood look and feel real even though the characters we see are animated! and the way he replicates the art style of the game is just *chefs kiss* beautiful. and the way the series is laid out gives not only a sense of nostalgia, but also a sense of dread for those who know the story, like the calm before the storm.

I knew about Faraway logs, and omori, but I never knew there was hidden links and didnt even noticed something, it was my favorite analog just for the ambiance alone, but it amke it 10 times better !
