I like it better than dark rebel rider. Its pretty similar but dark rebel is easier to wear. I would only wear rider in like a "gentlemen only" suit n tie occasion that involved drinks. But regular dark rebel you could pull off more casual. I like them both.
I love John Varvatos fragrances my scent of the day is XX artisan and because John Varvatos fragrances don't have really good performance I put on a layer of molecule o1 ISO E super and it's projecting really well so far and it smells like it's going to last at least about six or seven hours or so. 😁💯
I tend to disagree on your opinion. Reminds me of a mix of Invictus and aqua di gio. Just picked up a bottle the other day. Lasts longer than Invictus. Got the beachy look to the bottle, so beachy kinda scent matches. Light, refreshing scent to me. Still enough musk for that "manly" scent. To each their own opinions though

I own this one. Projects OKAY buy longevity is very weak. It has a fairly decent smell to it but thinking about returning it. Bought it from Macy's but thinking about returning since they accept open bottles that have already been used.
The dry down on this is so addictive. It's close to the skin but it's great. It's like a sugar cookie. That's how I describe it. It is for sure a cuddle scent. The opening is almost blah, very basic not bad but meh. When it drys down it reminds me of radio bomby by d.s. & durga. At retail it's a pass but at bargain price it's definitely solid.

This review is a bit unfair to Varvatos. Why is being similar to other fragrances a downside that would mark down a good fragrance. Let's be real, they all build off each other and many fresh profiles smell alike naturally. Not everyone has Defy and Y and a bunch of other similar fragrances and feel disappointed that it isn't reinventing the fresh genre.
It may smell like Azzaro Chrome extreme to YOU. But to me they have zero similarity. My wife hates extreme and looooves this on me. Extreme has more of a citrus sweet smell. I think this smells closer to Lacoste L12 12 Eau fraiche. Though this scent is more sweet and aqua, Lacoste has more of a “fresh linen” smell. I like both of the latter mentioned, but think the the varvatos teal has more complexity but not as long lasting as the Lacoste I mentioned.

It’s good stuff for those who actually want something different - majority of fragcomm gets upset over generic stuff. Made it clear though that it’s for citrus lovers only. It’s definitely not for people who can’t pull off something remotely challenging like a Bentley For Men Intense cheapie or Lalique Encre Noir.
What a shame…I own Y edt and edp so I wouldn’t cop a bottle of this, but overall I’m tired of these houses always copying other popular or once popular fragrances. Straight hopping on bandwagons 🤦🏻♂️ whatever happened to being creative and coming up with your own unique fragrance?? 🫤
