Broooooooo!! That's what I told my mom!! It reminds me of my dad!! Its smelled like when he would come home from having some drinks with his friends. They used to allow smoking in bars back then. Hence some tobacco notes and he would always wear his "leather" jacket! Plus my dad was a Man's Man. A true man. So, all that put together reminded me of my father. Good review!

I walked in cold to Ulta with my daughter and started smelling all the various fragrances and this Vintage just jumped out at me- I’m 51 and loving it - glad you thought highly of it too!!! Makes me feel better about it - I didn’t look it up before buying it- just fell for that smell and couldn’t resist it! Lol

I can't get enough of this frag lately.
I tried a sample from Dillard’s and then bought a small bottle. Very underrated fragrance. I get good performance even thought it’s a EDT. You mentioned it’s somehow clean smelling, I get that...kind of a “darker smelling clean” earthy notes compared to a “brighter smelling clean” with lots of soap and citrus notes.
I got this, the og and another one that came in a mini gift set from Burlington and haven't stopped wearing them. Thanks for the review
Like a modern and subtle version of Polo with cinnamon. Love it, love it, love it. And as a guitar player, it just fits the feel of a blues session at a dim bar in the music district. A smooth combination.

My SOTD! Bought a set that came with aftershave Used both and it lasted me all day. Soft and get wafts of it through out the day. Inexpensive and forgotten but not by me. Older women love this on me. Office favorite for certain ladies.

If you like the original, you'll probably like this one too. They are quite different in scent, but they serve the same purpose. The original is has a darker character though.
Im not going to lie I have been sleeping on Varvatos I finally smelled Artison Pure I have to get my nose on more, great review!!!
I smelled this at a drug store once and wrote it off as uninteresting. But I gave it a second chance based on your review and it's growing on me. I can see myself really enjoying it in the fall when the air is crisp. I'm liking the rhubarb note, it's fruity but not too sweet, and balances out the leather & tobacco nicely.
Vintage needs to be smelled during colder weather to be enjoyed. Summer will ruin its elegance. Also, JC is 100% correct it reminds you of what dad would wear 30 years ago when you was a young chap and dad was your idol. That's Vintage!

Very interesting. Not many reviewers push this at all. Not have heard about it till your videos. But I like Tonka bean, woody, cinnamon, leather vibe you say it has. I will have to check this out since those are some of my fave notes. I usually wear Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. Dior Sauvage.

I just picked up vintage and I am floored. I wish this was eau de parfum and lasted 10 hours because I can’t stop sniffing this. It is absolutely gorgeous in the crisp cool air. I have hundreds of fragrances and I can see this entering the top 10 already
How long does it last? I see it in tjmaxx and May just have to get it and keep reapplying cuz I see ppl say it smells soooo good. My experience wit JV on performance is poor tho.
@@RaphaEl-pn8ue it’s about a 4-5 hour fragrance honestly. I don’t mind reapplying. Yeah JV doesn’t have the best longevity. Crimson JV/NJ is the only one I’ve had last longer than 6 hours.

Just picked this up at Marshall’s in a gift set. 100ml Vintage, 20ml John Varvatos original, and. Travel 15ml of vintage. 40$! I’m blown away at how good this smells! I bought it based on the review from you and Ross. I’m not disappointed at all! Thanks for the channel.

Would recommend any John Varvatos fragrance, they do smell different to other brands out there, the best value for money, that being said, last moderately through the day but so cheap a second hit later is all good...

I am about two years late in smelling this beauty...Very much approve of the smell!!! reminding a little of Hilfiger's Tommy..prob the lavender mint and fruity notes.

Still my #1 favorite designer fragrance, despite it not having the world’s greatest performance. Rodrigo Flores-Roux is a master, and it’s disappointing that the JV house didn’t have him compose the newer JV fragrances. Thankfully, a lot of other houses are using him. You’ve got to get your nose on the one he did for Commodity, Leather, if you haven’t yet!

Couldn't agree with you more. This is probably my favorite in cooler weather. It's evergreen, leather, cinnamon and sweet, but that rhubarb tart is in the opening for sure. I don't know what it is, probably the evergreen, that reminds me of Polo Green. They don't smell the same, but there's a similarity. Maybe the basil too. I don't know. I just love it. You make an excellent point about how the performance isn't a bad thing if you don't like fragrances that are screamers.

Tested this today before a sample of PdM Godolphin came in and honestly, I think I'll be buying this. Great leather scent with this furry, balsam. Kind of like a leather jacket having a resinous oil being coated over it. Godolphin is just a more wearable Tuscan leather/ombre leather but this is more interesting. Kind of a you will get complemented for smelling good rather than being asked what your cologne is.

Been following your content for about a year now, and didn't realize I hadn't subscribed......but we're good now. I really enjoy your reviews. Very detailed and informative. I came across this fragrance at Dillard's......and I was in awe. I really love this fragrance, kinda along the line of spice bomb, but in my opinion its smells better. It just does not perform in terms of longevity. Its a great Netflix and chill fragrance. Artisan Blu is really good too.

Excellent review. I sampled this fragrance and it was awesome. The issue is, as you mentioned, it does not last longer. For me, it lasts not more than three to four hours. Although, it is unique but I would appreciate if you can suggest an alternative to this fragrance that lasts longer?
I have yet to come across a fragrance that smells like this. I do believe that it’s performance perfectly suits its scent profile. You can always spray your clothing if you want it to last a little longer!

I just received my sample atomizer of John Varvatos Vintage. I really dig it. Even though I enjoy the subtlety of the fragrance, I wish it could be a bit more powerful. Like as an Ead De Parfum. But overall, it's a nice fragrance.
I'm glad you got try try it. I love its subtlety. I think that if if it was stronger, the magic of its scent profile would be changed.

I think u can still pronounce quince how u did.. funny didn't realize that was in there.. main note I get is star anise or clove out of JVV Vintage I am perplexed it's not in note breakdown. I guess suede cinnamon and tabacco are giving it that spicy touch. Either way I wish u were my life coach.

The opening its just delicious elegant subtle mature but not old
I was o ready happy whit it Mather of fact I spray it
Several times more because the opening was just wow..
So I was ready to buy it
I was waiting for the dry donw...and then
Wow wow wow the tamarind peel together whit the lethear and the DRY ELEGANT SOFISTICATED WOOD AND CINNAMON like another wood in the mix just genius taking the wood acord of fruits and spices so it can play like a related musicians the same harmony...
Even after all the wood acord still elegantly and mysteriously swet and alluring it take a long time to identify the acord

Andre, you're makin it tough for me, man lol...that's a hard decision. Both are so good. They are quite different in scent, but they serve the same purpose imho. I honestly can't pick one over the other. I'll always have both!
J Copeland im gonna have to try the vintage i just recently got the original john varvatos which sucks i love the smell but its already getting warm out here in arizona and it seems more like a cold weather fragrance so i will have to wait until the end of the year. But i will have to check out the vintage as well
JV Artisan Aqua is great for the summer.But for all other seasons,nothing beats JV Vintage.
