I love Artisan. I have John Varvatos EDT, the black leather bottle and I love the "natural" notes like sage and citrus but the "artificial" black leather etc makes it unsuitable for me personally much of the time. Perfect for dressing up but with three small kids this is rare for me.
What would you say are the best casual masculine scents for daytime wear from JV, emphasis on casual/okay to wear in leather work boots and Wrangler jeans?
Really wished Artisan Pure had the bottle of Artisan. I love the scent of Artisan Pure, love the bottle of Artisan.
Artisan Pure is what Artisan should have been. The perfect balance between citrus/florals/spices/woods. It's smells so happy, sunny and fresh.
Know I'm a year late, but I wore the original and pretty sure Artisan also, many, many, many years ago. Seem to remember the wicker. Haven't worn any others, but am interested in the Vintage. On a seperate note, thinking of adding a Givenchy Gentleman, is their one I should start with? Was thinking either intense or edp. Also enjoy your videos with Miss. Sandra. Have a great day.

These bottled are just perfect. Cool, classy and manly. I love the original and also vintage (although my wife says it reminds her of her father’s fragrance).

Yeah I’ve heard the same thing from some women about the original and vintage (”old man’s fragrances”) but they are both great! Artisan pure is a fab summer freshie and Dark Rebel is an epic classic for sure 🔥🤩

Rodrigo Flores-Roux is a genius. So many great releases before they went bankrupt. Used to be one of my favourite designer brands!

Varvatos Vintage is the best autumn scent of all time!
I bought the original EDT in 2004. Wore it all summer in 2005 and I believe it has really good performance. I only need two sprays. I’m not a sicko like some of you who use 10+ sprays 😂. 2 sprays and I smell it on my clothing the next day. My watch smelled like it.
I still love it. PERFECT tshirt and jeans scent.

I bought DRR and I like it besodes the dry down. I guess I dont like powdery cologne. Do you know which note gives off the powder, so I can avoid it?
Hi! That one has both orris and violet, both of which are powdery notes.
If you usually don't like powdery scents then maybe avoid iris/orris & violet? 😊
Sometimes heliotrope and musk can also be powdery depending on the type used, how it's used and what they are combined with. Hope that helps!

Hey rebel, the original worth buying? I love the smell
I really enjoy most of these, including the original. the only issue with a lot of them is the performance.. I personally would most likely NOT buy the original in 2022. Think there are other fragrances out there that are more worth the money, but if you absolutely LOVE the smell of it then that's your answer right there :) Get it. 👍 Only buy fragrances you love.

John Varvatos , the original, is a beautiful fragrance.
Unfortunately, it’s terribly weak. I bought a backup knowing you have to overdose the sprays to get any performance.
I own Artisan, Artisan Pure, Artisan Blu, Dark Rebel Rider and the original. All are very good.
I believe all were made by rodrigo flores-roux and pretty much all smell fantastic. Dark Rebel is still THE ONE for me from John Varvatos.. Such a stunning scent. Too bad it seems the scents are not available anymore.. And yeah, the performance on almost all are weak..

i dont think vintage has any thing to do with tobacco or wood .. its totally lemony & citric ( mixed with some spices barely ) .. that's all what i feel when i smell it .. its soft fresh day time office kinda parfume .. and dark rider is just a copy of ( black afgano ) to be honest .. smell them both together side by side .. no differences .. and the last one dark rebel which supposed to be ur favorite over all is the only one of them that has been discontenued .. why they chose to discontinue the best of 1 them i have no idea .. i guess life is sucks some time

To my nose Rebel Rider and Afgano are not the same 😊 Rebel Rider is actually quite a unique take on leather which I have not come across in another fragrance 😊 No idea what's going on with John Varvatos right now. They've been discontinuing a lot of their fragrances while slowly releasing new scents. I hope they bring back some of their previous releases in the future though!

I like it! It's not a 'love' though (at least not right now) and it reminds me a bit of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, but not as smooth and maybe a bit more green. I think I did a shorts video on it as well 😊 what do you think of Artisan XX?
Vintage is disgusting. Feel nauseous after first spray. First and last time I blind buy.
