I’m 44 and just getting into fragrances. My wife has always loved wearing them and I like when she does. Just bought my first selection - Creed Silver Mountain Water and loving it. Now I’m going down the rabbit hole and learning about fragrances. I’m really appreciating your videos for information - thanks so much!
Real men does this good. But for other perspectives, Jeremy Fragrance did fragrances the best 3 to 6 years ago when it was his peak. His newer vids are a bit poorer in quality as it was obvious he fell into life problems. I hope he recovers, as most consider him the fragrance king.
you are a bit late to the game but again it does not matter. cardamom and amber are the notes that make male fragrances extremely attractive for women. so I suggest D&G The One EDP. It is one of the best. Other than these vanilla and cinnamon also works such as 1 Million. Since 1 Million has longer duration, it is better to use it as a clubbing fragrance (or where you know you won't get intimate right away). For intimacy D&G The One and YSL La Nuit are the best.
The rubbing makes no sense.. The liquid is mixed and the atoms of different oils are not sitting on top, middle and bottom xD What a great example of bro science.
Antonio, your passion for the details of fragrance never goes stale. You always seem to dive deep and add additional elements and factors to fragrances that we wouldn't typically think of
Don't say we.. It's true, this was a deep dive, but almost anyone who's been collecting seriously for 3 years or more, know 95-100% of what was discussed in this video..
@@BertRussell4711 What!? Are you trying to tell me something that I don't know? Do you think I'm not aware of how extremely subjective fragrances are and we all have our own opinions? I loved this video, I have 6 grandsons all want to smell good. So I forwarded this to my 3 in college. I often pick up samples when I shop that I like ,but tell my grandsons they need to try it & like it, not because “grandma” does, who wants to admit Grandma picks my fragrance? I like that you emphasize being discovered wearing a fragrance, not overwhelming. Less is more. Keep it up. I’m trying to educate them, & you really help. Thank you.
I don't stop by on YT too much anymore, life is busy, but I'll always be thankful to you for putting me onto PdM - Carlisle. My favourite frag of all time and my signature throughout the year. Wouldn't have discovered it when I did, if not for your earlier videos on it.

The rubbing makes no sense.. The liquid is mixed and the atoms of different oils are not sitting on top, middle and bottom xD What a great example of bro science.
My favorite cologne of 2024: I bought a 1 Million Royal and one Elixir. On Amazon I ordered some refillable bottles and mixing it 50/50 makes an amazing combination that I wear everyday right now.
Great work, helpful to even an experienced user and content creator such as myself. Scent IS part of style, so right on points are: 1. Wear what YOU like. You have to smell it all day, so enhance your mindset with it! 2. 1 spray/all day is my choice, this includes every scent I've ever worn and been chased for- from Eternity to Farenheit, to Varvatos Artisan, and my signature (discontinued, tear) Armani Mania. A good scent is complex, durable and irresistible because it will boost YOU. 3. Avoid the populars of the day- don't smell like her ex or every other guy in the club. 4. Dress up even when you don't have to. The first look, plus evocative scent = dynamite. What are your thoughts on good solid scents available now? Enjoy!
I appreciate the lack of pretension, encouraging going to large retailers instead of demanding one goes to the brand store itself, and highlighting discount sites and clone scents

Tried Sauvage, Dunhill, Boss, Diesel etc. All the obvious ones. All horrible. Well for me they were. Aqua Di Gio, Issy Miyake, Terre d'Hermes worked great for me. They're re wonderful! Especially the Hermes. Love that one.
Antonio, thank you for covering fragrances, over the past year you have reignited my love for fragrances. If you ever decide to sell off any of your collection I would be happy to pay a premium and pick up in person.
Black is also my favorite from the line. This and original aqua di gio are my 2 favorite colognes I own and I have a lot!! Every girlfriend iv had since 2000 has loved aqua and now that I'm wearing black the most I'm constantly getting compliments.
I would like advice on this subject. When I was 21, I bought my first expensive fragrance and tried it at work. One of the office managers, a lady who was twenty years my senior. She graciously informed me that the fragrance was not mixing well with my body chemistry, creating something akin to what one might scrape off ones shoe. I was crestfallen, and since then have stuck to a simple deodorant soap. Have you ever encountered something like this?
Hey Antonio! Been avoiding the fragrance videos for the longest time, but someone I'm now seeing has been really wanting me to get into them. So I've been ingesting all of your videos, and I'm amazed at how quickly it took me to get up to speed on this! This video is bad ass! Very in-depth, organized, and informative video! If we only had smell-o-vision, this would be all you need to start or refine your journey. Great job brotha!
I love clean fragrances. My go to is a classic barbershop, such as Drakkar Noir. Though for a few years now I’ve switch to Al-Rehab’s Dakar and love it! For me citrus, aromatic mint, or tea, white musk or floral with some vanilla is welcome too. Behind the ears is a great think to do, though I find it hard to do with my Tom Cruise 2000 hair haha. I don’t want to be over powering with the fragrance.
Thank you for this! I’m just getting into scents, and I’ve already made some of the mistakes you’ve pointed out. Having this guide as a “101” is incredibly helpful
A little tip to people going to duty frees and stuff wait 30-60 seconds before smelling, then you can smell 30+ fragrances because the alcohol is what makes you go nose blind
You've done a great job educating people about how they should wear fragrances and what fragrance suits them the best, etc.... ❤️👌🏻 I work at a perfumery shop and everyday I try to educate people about fragrances just the way you did. 👍🏻
Great tips about applying fragrances. One note that I'd add is that staining clothes is not the only thing to consider when applying fragrance to clothing, especially if its clothing that can be worn again before sending to the cleaners (like suits or silk shirts or fine sweaters, scarves). Unless you plan to wear only the one scent, spraying on clothing can limit what you wear the next time you go into your closet to choose an outfit because the scent you used last time is still lingering in the threads. I think spraying clothing is generally not a good idea. Of course there are exceptions.
I agree with things that get laundered infrequently. Regular, everyday wear should be fine. T-shirts, casual shirts and other clothing that gets washed at home should be ok. More potent fragrances may need to have a better wash or use a good laundry detergent to release the scent from the shirt. Kinda like workout clothes. You may have to wash with a free and clear laundry soap since the scents and fabric softeners can lock in odors.
I’ve very recently gotten into colognes. Picked up a few dupes of the popular brands. I just want to say this video was very informative and I wish I saw it a few weeks ago
I love Grey Flannel & Old English. A few other classics that I have, that I just love the scent is Pierre Cardan, McGregor and Dakar. I do have and will buy high end scents, but the classics are the best
Wow, you have become a mentor to everyone that s starting making a fragrance collection. I’ve been watching all your videos they are always super informative and have purchase some fragrance using your recommendations, But this video is like a master class. Thank you. Amazing!!!!!!
After reaching over 100 bottles now, and not having money for the past several month to buy any, I need to reevaluate my collection, I realize I blind bought bottles way too often, but fortunately had mostly good luck. Not buying fragrances, I've started to evaluate my collection, ranging from $15 clones to Xerjoff, and what I'm lacking, and if I'm being far too repetitive with certain fragrances that don't differ enough to keep buying. Heck, I realized I don't have a SINGLE good vetiver scent, and thinking about it? I have no idea of a top 3 I'd consider next. I've been wearing Salvatorre Ferragamo Uomo Signature a TON lately this winter, it just works great and you can get it so cheap. I need to get a vetiver scent, and evaluate future purchases more carefully, and have some bottles I need a new one of. Thanks for the video to make me think about the basics again, of back when I first started really collecting fragrances to use, and not just having a few I always used, and giving me a chance to evaluate what I have and my approach going forward with it. This was a good video. I haven't watched your content for a while, but I appreciate the work you put into your videos.
Might I suggest a very old school standard: Clubman Pinaud aftershave (I actually don't prefer the new versions from clubman). It is a little overpowering when first applied but settles out to a very mild and almost mysterious smell. I often get compliments from women and inquires from men as to the fragrance. It is very economical but does not smell "cheap". A true classic in my humble opinion.
Just stopping by to say great video. The quality and time you imbue in these videos really speaks to your passion and professionalism. Thanks for the content!
Great video! What is your take on fragrances sold which were manufactured a while ago and the quality of the fragrance once it’s been sitting on the shelf for a while?
I want to thank you for all the great content as you've helped guide me to a classier me. Co-workers have been mentioning how great I look and smell lately. I'm not saying it's because of how I look cause I also work my ass off, but the COO just asked to meet with me next week about a "Growth Opportunity." Again, thank you and keep the great content coming.
For splash bottles, you can buy an aftermarket glass bottle with a decent atomizer for like $5 and a syringe to extract the fragrance and rebottle it which I recommend since the splash can be hard to get right, is not efficient, and by default you pretty much have to rub with splash bottles
9:00 That's what I would have thought, but nope. (I am new to the frag comm tho) I sprayed FIVE times with Aventus and while longevity was ok, projection sucked big hairy donkey organs. I was in a car with someone 20 min x2 and when I asked later, he didn't even notice I was wearing a frag. Besides, why aren't you recommending a different amount of sprays depending on whether it's edt, edp or parfum?
I love atomizers too I definitely need a few more.I am a beginner on my fragrance journey. I enjoy your content. You and bowtie should do a collab called Scent and Dress for Success maybe a guide for younger gentlemen coming into their own on the business world...
2:55 This is an old and tired myth. Fragrance is intended to mix with your natural oils, and you can't avoid that mixing, even if you try. But that's not the worst part of this myth. Fragrance is already blended in the bottle. You can't mix it any further, and that includes any rubbing you might do on your skin. What's more, it doesn't hit your skin in layers (yet another ludicrous claim), so rubbing it couldn't possibly change the order in which the notes are released into the air. That order - i.e., top -> middle -> base - is determined by the relative volatility of each note, not by some magical layering done by the atomizer. 😏
Really appreciate the breakdown of the difference in notes & what the different fragrances mean such as parfum... EDT...& so on... definitely subscribing to the channel...
What a great video! Thank you so much for your expert advice! You are exactly right about Amazon and Ebay! I bought a fragrance in Ebay that was totally a fake! I should have know better when the price of the cologne was much cheaper than others selling the same fragrance! Never again!
Have you ever smelled D&G By? Or Versace Metal? These are no longer in stores, but are so different from all others. Maybe make a video of them if you found them
WOW,1st time I've seen channel Anteus mentioned on any fragrance channel..I love the stuff..Great mature gentleman scent .To be honest I 1st tried it when sneaked a spray off my friends dad before a school disco back in 80s England ,maybe 86/87...😂...Still buy it to this day .. I have a bit of A cologne fettish ,just today got my 1st bottle of Dior Homme intense..Love it👌..Savage elixir and Tom Ford Oud wood are my all time faves...great vlog btw .👍
Nice video. Be assured that I've really been doing heavy research on fragrances for myself. I'm trying to find my signature fragrance(s) and feel awful that I've spent so much money in the search, first with blind buys (watching youtubers, and reading Fragrantica), and this I am sure of: certain notes or fragrances give me a pounding headache. If someone walks past me with Dior Sauvage, or the 'original Polo', I'm done. Also, Burberry Touch easily overwhelms. So, I've been trying to isolate those notes that are NOT good for me. The good news, I've just dropped two hundred on Gucci Guilty Elixir because I love it, though it's new for me, so I'm trying to find the correct way to wear it, i.e., the number of sprays. I'm 60, work in an office, but in jeans, and just want to wear a fragrance that gets a compliment!! Lol! This is a tough 'hobby'!
This guide book is absolutely amazing and very well prepared, some youtuber here in Brazil should do the same for Brazilian websites, and so on. Thanks for the video
Hi,i need a tip.I own dylan blue, turathi blue, afnan 9pm,acqua di gio,ck free a some fragrance inspired by fierce. What fragrance would recommend to elevate my collection?
I heard a lot of fragrances can contain some toxic ingredients like phthalates and such. Personally because of that I have decided to spray it only on clothes, though I am interested what are your thoughts ont that?
Very informative video… thank you! Also some great fragrance recommendations! Would it be possible for you to list them in a link please for ease of access rather than to have to watch the entire video again just for the brand names etc?
For office fragrance I have found these rules somewhere on you tube: 1. Dont use bold fragrance so you dont smell bolder than your boss 2. Use something easy to smell, just something light like aquatic so it wont bother your colleague 3. Use something long last at least it will last your working hour. 4. Traveler atomizer is a good idea.
I want one of your atomizers!! Perfect for travel and on the go!! Could toss that in gym bag and use out of the shower rather than toting the whole bottle. Please make them available!!
the atomizers on my CA and BC dupes are amazing... as good as any expensive bottles i have... i hate the Terre D'Hermes "screw down 'cap'", though the actual atomizer itself works/sprays ok... Acqua Di Gio Parfum, and Versace Eros Eau De Parfum, more than a couple sprays and im fuming out small restraunts... love the smell of both though... Scent strips never smell anything like spraying it on your body.
I'm absolutely in love with Dolce and Gbanna the one. The fragrance profile is perfect for me but as everyone knows it doesn't last. What is the best copycat of the one edp that lasts longer and projects more??
in some countries there are local shops that makes clones of popular fragrances. therefore, you may find one which is 90% of the same smell, and 10x cheaper, 2x lasting longer. if you can come Turkey, there is Mad 133 for men. It is exactly the same and much cheaper. It is so cheap and similar to The One that I use it as a room & car fragrance wherever I go. I also suggest niche fragrances from Nishane (like Hacivat parfume). It is a world class fragrance and I have never come across a lady who does not fall in love with it.
I have a 25+ years old Obsession bottle that my mother gifted me. I have kept it all this time for sentimental reasons and a few months I rediscovered it. It still has about half of it. It still seems to smell good although I don’t remember exactly what Obsession is supposed to smell when new. My question is, would it be save to use one that is that old? PS: Thank you for this Master Class.
My grandpa wore Brute after shave 🪒 As a child I got into it and splashed most of a full size bottle on my face. It gave me such a rash. Looked like razor burn 😂 idk if that counts as an over dose of a fragrance or not. I haven’t thought of that in years. Good times 😊

I concur with that tobacco vanilla scent. I had some beard oil that was scented like that & it gave me a headache after wearing it. Great beard oil but gotta use it sparingly.

Bvlgari Aqva marine is my fav! Sadly they stopped it. Anything really close to that scent and is around the same price or even less?
I've been going retro since 23 - Tuscany, Quorum, Obsession, Xeryus & L'eau Dissey...1 on the neck, 2 on the throat, 2-3 on the chest...
I enjoyed the longer format. Thx bud
Thank you for sharing this vast amount of fragrance knowledge Antonio. Gracias compadre.
Excellent job in putting in all this effort! Definitely have new perfumes to try out from that last list. Thank you!
Compliment Monsters: Xerjoff Naxos, Prada L'homme, Spicebomb Extreme, PDM Sedley, PDM Pegasus Exlusiv
Just stopping by to say great video. The quality and time you imbue in these videos really speaks to your passion and professionalism. Thanks for the content!
Great video! What is your take on fragrances sold which were manufactured a while ago and the quality of the fragrance once it’s been sitting on the shelf for a while?
Amazing video Antonio! You did forget the Extrait de Parfum concentration. Otherwise, great explanations and examples.
Excellent job putting everything together aka Yellow How to do book! In fragrances world TH-cam channels are good.. But nobody does better than this!
Love the video. I'm starting a collection. I bought Versace eros on a blind buy, and I love it 😁 🥰 I will like and subscribe 👍
just got Eros EDP for $64. money well spent. i'm absolutely loving it!
Hello Antonio, I really like the red jacket that you are wearing and was wondering where it's from.
I always enjoy your videos. I’ve been wearing the same cologne for over almost two decades and never really thought about it. Excellent video!
Really appreciate the breakdown of the difference in notes & what the different fragrances mean such as parfum... EDT...& so on... definitely subscribing to the channel...
I buy from sephora the 10ml tom ford travel size to try it out
Very interesting.I shall archive this.I love anything that's aquatic or vanilla sweet- bulgari aqva-,prada ocean, most wanted,le male, issey miyake
What a great video! Thank you so much for your expert advice! You are exactly right about Amazon and Ebay! I bought a fragrance in Ebay that was totally a fake! I should have know better when the price of the cologne was much cheaper than others selling the same fragrance! Never again!
Coconut+black pepper perfume is best for summer or winter?
Thank You For this Guide! Extremely Helpful Videos Like Always
Very informative video !! I was looking for something like this
Hi,i need a tip.I own dylan blue, turathi blue, afnan 9pm,acqua di gio,ck free a some fragrance inspired by fierce. What fragrance would recommend to elevate my collection?
I heard a lot of fragrances can contain some toxic ingredients like phthalates and such.
Personally because of that I have decided to spray it only on clothes, though I am interested what are your thoughts ont that?
Great video like always...very helpful, especially you showing us all the details most people dont know..
Thanks for the free game, I just got into buying fragrances every paycheck and learning as I’m going
Very informative video… thank you! Also some great fragrance recommendations! Would it be possible for you to list them in a link please for ease of access rather than to have to watch the entire video again just for the brand names etc?
For office fragrance I have found these rules somewhere on you tube:
1. Dont use bold fragrance so you dont smell bolder than your boss
2. Use something easy to smell, just something light like aquatic so it wont bother your colleague
I wish I would had known about TFs Grey Vetiver Parfum. I bought EDT and has maybe 2 hours of longevity.😢
I can’t no longer do 3.4oz I need the 200ml’s! Don’t like it when it runs out too quick. 😩
I usually prefer Aquatic or Citrus, what do you recommend sir?
I have a 25+ years old Obsession bottle that my mother gifted me. I have kept it all this time for sentimental reasons and a few months I rediscovered it. It still has about half of it. It still seems to smell good although I don’t remember exactly what Obsession is supposed to smell when new. My question is, would it be save to use one that is that old? PS: Thank you for this Master Class.
I always thought that Obsession smelled like a hyper sweetened bakery ... But I have a lot of friends who enjoyed it.
Antonio what’s your take on middle eastern dupes/interpretations.
My perfect 10/10 would be Versace Eros EDP. Perfect for every day use
My grandpa wore Brute after shave 🪒
As a child I got into it and splashed most of a full size bottle on my face. It gave me such a rash. Looked like razor burn 😂 idk if that counts as an over dose of a fragrance or not. I haven’t thought of that in years. Good times 😊
Brut Original Parfum is a favourite of mine, its my everyday fragrance and it has stood the test of time. lol
That might have been the oakmoss, which has since been banned.
Great video as always my friend, good honest reviews with some great facts tips. Easily one of the top 3 fragrance channels on TH-cam.
Keep up the super smashing great job brother ✌🏽👍🏼
Is bad boy extreme worth buying? Does it smell like normal chocolate or is it quite unique?
Excellent introduction video. Well done
I just order Bad Boy by Carolina Herrera i orderd it. because I truest Antonio ,also I order Luna Rosa by Prada the I Smell on the GQ magazine about three months ago ,the one with Kim Kardashian on the front page .
I concur with that tobacco vanilla scent. I had some beard oil that was scented like that & it gave me a headache after wearing it. Great beard oil but gotta use it sparingly.
