Adam Weinberger Rare Books does appraisals of rare book in 30 seconds or less. These shorts are intended for those TH-camrs that cannot sit through his longer (and occasionally too drawn-out :) videos on Rare Books. Now, of course, to properly appraise books you need to spend more than 30 seconds, collate them (count pages and plates), check references, and give them the historical consideration they deserve. BUT when you are going through large libraries, racing around a book fair, rapidly scrolling through internet auctions looking for potential bargains, you need to be able to evaluate books quickly. Perhaps these 30 second TH-cam Shorts (I will try to make a series of them) will highlight some fun books and hone your rare bookseller instincts.

...and worth every penny. I love these types of early, graphic, interactive books.

Here's a description of the book that couldn't fit into your 30 seconds 😀:
Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. (1888) 1st edition. Oblong folio, 15" x 11", with 12 chromolithographic plates, many with multiple folding flaps. Lithographs are mounted on heavy linen backing with similar linen tabs. Black cloth over boards in an envelop style portfolio, with metal lock. Title on front board, on a diamond shaped black label with lettering in gold.
The 12 plates are: [1] The Body, with 11 sections; [2] The Head, 6 sections; [3] The Eye, 6 sections and The Ear, 4 sections; [4] The Skeleton; [5] Muscles, Veins, Arteries and Nerves; [6] Diagram of Nervous System; [7] Blood Formation, Absorption, and Circulation; [8] Sections of Upper and Lower Extremities, 6 sections each; [9] Male Genital Organs, 4 sections; [10] Foetal Organization; [11] Sectional View of Female; [12] Female Pelvic Organs, 11 sections. Views are achieved by a series of movable flaps and sliding sections.
