I dig it! How much does that go for?
Didn’t catalog or price it yet
@ awesome! Interesting book to say the least!
🎉 m
So are those blank pages interleaved into the printed book? I've known this to be done on occasion by scholars.
Intrrleaves pages are not uncommon in books for scholars - they have been used in copies for centuries - I have one such book back to the late 1400s.
My first study Bible kind of looks like that. But not quite as much.
Hey can I ask what is the most you have ever sold a single book for 🙏
0:25
I believe every word you say. You a very kind and trustworthy guy to me
Thanks bud
Pawn Stars is obviously faked, some of it we now know is even filmed on a set, interspersed with real views of the pawn shop. When the show is being filmed the Pawn Shop is actually closed and the people milling in the background of the videos are actually paid extras and not real customers The items being sold are vetted beforehand and the dialogue is rehearsed, the price for the item has already been agreed and the bidding is faked. Some who appeared on the show have now been proven to be paid actors. Pawn Stars uses product placement from Subway whose sandwiches and logos appear on most episodes.
what a beautiful Bible, where can I search it? (I'm a christian who is learning arabic)
It sold alas . I do not think there is a copy online
@RareBookBuyer well, thank you anyways brother, Jesus bless you
It’s refreshing to find an antiquarian bookseller who is willing to share information about where we can buy antiquarian books. “Antiquarian booksellers, eBay & Sotheby’s!” Great tips. Thank you. 🙄
🤔👍👍
You always bring the best stuff!
Isn't it possible that these illustrations were done with etchings? I believe etchings were used as early as 1500 in printing.
No. Def woodcuts and you can see sometimes where the wood has broken
@@RareBookBuyer Gotcha!
Hey what's the most expensive thing you've ever found out there
Always liked you on pawn stars you always had cool stuff
$550k
Thank you for sharing this. I found it thoughtful and informative. I am also curious as to what your specialty is.
I am a generalist but pre 1800 is my strongest suit
Just looks like a sentence replacing words with things and letters to supplement if the word couldn’t be represented by a clearly defined thing. I have no clue what most of this stuff is, first thing kinda looks like an old antique vacuum cleaner, and I see an eye with les after it so eyeles maybe sightles? Pr before tongs picking up ice so price? Hopefully someone else figures it out
What is your threshold for good vs. bad? I’ve been slowly upping mine and am curious as to what an established seller such as yourself does.
I use bad loosely - not really bad books (some are very interesting) but usually less than a few hundred dollars as I just don’t have the energy or manpower to list books in that range and make the economics work
@ thanks for the reply. Your content is really interesting. Aspirational really.
I wonder if this is the same Everlasting Alamanc that's sold to Albert Jansen Van Steenwyck in a September 1665 auction of the estate of the late Gysbert Van Imbroch (one of the earliest Barber Surgeon in New Netherland.) The foundation of the house (which is now mostly dated to the 18th century) still survives and is a museum that I'm the lead docent for.

Thank you Adam and Dr. Ayoub! I really enjoy your channel and as a dental lab technician I really appreciated hearing how book collecting has enriched doctor Ayoub’s career and study.
I love the homemade binding!
We are all interested in how much you paid and what you think you hope to get.
Make an offer!
I paid $160 only from a dealer . But given its rarity and Persian gulf content it is one of the rare books where I can 10x. If a private person offered me it I would have paid more
@@RareBookBuyer Very nice. I treasure hunt myself. Books sometimes but not especially. Vids on your best finds money wise would be v v v cool. We all get lucky it keeps us going lol. All hope for that massive freaky one.
Do you have any books on jainism
So what is the book about?
As a kid, Pawn stars is my second most favorite tv show after mythbusters. My dad and I loved to watch pawn stars on the history channel back then when he was still with us. I'll always treasure those moments.
Adam you are almost 100k subs... We need the shop tour special!
Will try and get to that I promise. It’s mostly a tight schedule when I’m in NY unfortunately that blocks me
That’s a lie. I know the real story from another expert on the show that was a customer of mine.
I can only report my experience honestly
That was very interesting! I always enjoy your videos. Would you consider doing a few more like this, with other dealers you know?
Cliffhanger!
Hello sir, I have several interesting books aging from 1820-1870 I am looking for information and trying to get an appraisal. I was wondering if you may be able to take a look at them or let me know where I can get an appraisal

To agree or disagree.. still.. of what...of whom about whom too.. mayhaps related🤔
Love yr voice
I love all your posts!
Thank you so much I
Adam blink twice if Rick has a gun pointed at you,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
We need a long shop tour!
If I could clean the place up a bit I might be up for that
Thank you Loved the chance to see your thought process, I once bought a box of books at action in Wellington KS, as a 15yr old and found a first edition American printing of The Gods of Mars, I am 60 now and still have it as well as hundreds more.
Provenance adds value! Hopefully you can find additional information on the minature.
I love all your posts. Thanks for sharing your zeal and expertise.
I was just at the Seattle Antiquarian book fair last Saturday. It's been about my 15th time over the last 20 years. It would be great to see you there. It's a pretty subdued, well-behaved crowd. I'm pretty sure we used to talk at the Book Revue in Huntington if you worked there around 95 to 97.
That would have been in 1993 but correct. May I kindly ask who you are? You can always email me at webuyrarebooks@gmail.com
i admire your knowledge! Keep the videos coming... good luck at the fair
Go find YOU that one? Well , it's like my friend Jerry McGuire said , "show me the $$$".
Rebbeca whoooo 🎉
Are you the guy that sales stuff to pawn stars?
Yes
@@RareBookBuyerthat’s awesome ❤
I tried to pawn my motorcycle there and they didn't take it. They only take rare items
Dude do you have a book shop or just a whole entire room in your house dedicated to old books. That’s a lotta books 😮
