Ricky you are a walking encyclopaedia of race bikes. I've not been on a bike for 20 years now. But listening to you I'm absolutely amazed at the level of sophistication of modern super bikes and your enthusiasm shines through mate.
I use to race superbikes in the Canadian series and I drooled over that bike just as much as you. PLUS, your explanation is bang on about everything, i would of explained it exactly the same. Thanks man
@@REPerformanceUK R6/R1’s, I was factory backed and basically a top ten guy in 06-08. Almost made a living at it but when the economy went nuts in 09, everyone basically pulled out. great times though! I really like your channel and the trick car stuff but the bikes are where it’s at, thanks again for the bike porn.
I just popped a number of mods and a tune on my '23 R1 and thought I was doing something, this is insanity.. love watching these boys run round, their ability combined with machines like these are simply fascinating to watch. Mad props on this walk-around, thank you!
And that's why I race MX then enduro, 10k bike and say 5k for a year. All my mates who raced tarmac gave up due to 1k a weekend just on keeping the bike in race condition. Do enjoy the tech though on race bikes like this.
Very cool! When i raced in the 80s and early 90s...it was much different. Trick was having carbon fiber and carbon carbon brakes. I dont think i could transition to a finger rear brake. Duhamel did it on honda in the 90s due to leg injury
Great video, I bet you were buzzing after examining it. Love the bike videos, I have been watching, riding and building motorcycles for over 60 years. Your enthusiasm was epic. Nearly as mush as mine when I was given the honour of warming up Mike Hailwoods Honda 6…what a buzz….
Nice video 👌 I would like to ask you please the engine brake that using Brad in his bike is setting 0 ? 0 is the softer or harder setting engine brake on r1 ?
Wow what a bike...... please tell me where I can buy that HRC green hose for the brakes I really want it and can only find the 12 mm rear brake stuff.. fantastic video mate
One thing that annoys me about motorsport today is that you cannot see much of the technology behind it (for obvious reasons). A delight for me was to be left alone to study and absorb the details of race machinery. The data measurement and acquisition today is just spellbinding compared to times past. This video just left me as a giggling idiot, superb. Thank you.
Didn't they buy those bikes from McCams at the end of last season?.....if so...how different a spec are they now...as against when they were McCams bikes?
No, they had one bike to look at but had to return it. All the bikes this season were 2022 models built at OMG. They are factory supported team hence why they get given the same kit (swingarm etc) as McCams do.
You seem to be getting shit from people over your bike content. I watch your channel because I know how little I know. Even though I am the go to guy in my field. I have a lot of depth in the aeronautical engineering and servicing which now moving into the satellite industry is a step higher in terms of thermodynamics and maths. But I come from a car based level and know that there is a depth that others can teach you outside of your industry as someone with less elasticity has had to find an answer. Just like the best MMA bros learn classical dance to understand footwork before you hit someone, I find the motorcycle engineering as fascinating because I know someone has been on thier 3rd brew thinking about the weight of a bolt.
I know you are a biker and get that this and the previous ones are a big deal for you, but personally, it's not why I subscribe to your channel. Really like your technical videos and watch them all, your project ones are OK, but a few, like the manual conversion could do with part 2, Not interested in bikes in the slightest.
@@Franz_giblet so feedback isn't allowed? 🤣 I've posted loads of positive comments on previous videos. Unless he's extremely blinkered, I'd expect Ricky welcomes feedback. Good or bad. I don't watch the bike videos. Zero interest.
@@pinderwagen The simple answer is when you see a bike video 🤔think I don’t like bike videos so I won’t watch this video about a bike 🤷🏻. Rick is very passionate about bikes and many people enjoy them so why would he stop making them because you don’t like them.

Thank you! Bikes and going fast on them is my real passion!
I don’t know anything about superbikes but I’ve watched dozens of races. I really enjoyed this
Probably the best bike walk through that I've ever watched 10/10 ❤️
As a retired Audi/VW and some Porsche tech and also ride a CBR600 F4i I enjoy both car and bike content, keep them both coming.
Awesome to see and love to see your enthusiasm for the whole thing, the tech, the bike, the parts, the people..👊🏼👍🏻

@Soso1p2011 Chabot Racing is so expensive, it's a shame. The race series here is across 8 states. It's tough to make it work.

Yeah it is expensive, but the higher the level all motorsport gets there!
That is unbelievably cool thanks for sharing 😊
Geek overload and i love it! .
That bike is a thing of beauty 😮
Just an awesome in depth walk round what’s required to win a BSB championship!
Well done Bras and the OMG team and thanks for the look under the hood!
Very Interesting , I've been riding bikes for 40 odd years, I've learnt something today that I didn't know watching this video, brilliant, 👍
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
superb walk round best ive seen

I saw this bike being re build after the first race crash at bsb. Thanks to Dutchy boy!
Yep been waiting on this one!!
Enjoy!

Que moto😍😍😍
so what chain is that? erv? with rubber seals or without?
see if they will let you do a track review of the bike?? I'd watch that bad boy!!
I am working on that!! I have a feeling my ego is writing cheques my body cant cash though!! lol
Great video
Great video 👍, I love my 2022 R1 complete animal 💙
Sure the rear brake on bars came from Mick Doohan when he broke his foot
Crazy money budget let alone , 800k a season for two riders to have a capable winning team, crazy money 💰

Sorry I missed it live, but it was definitely worth the watch. How many bits did you nick for Josh's bike?😁
Very special nice
Yeah its special!!
Bottom yoke, bloody triple clamp. Uk
Thank you for in-depth tour of the bike. Did you run it on dyno?
Has the rear foot brake become completely obsolete now!!?
Which engine oil use on r1 in motogp?
Yamaha M1, uses Yamalube.
Of all the tricked out parts of that bike, the one i drool the most is the gearbox. Man, you think they would accept kidneys as payment? 🤣
Which forks are those??
Cool.
Cheers!
How much was the cylinder head tool?

No you need a completely different gearbox.
@@REPerformanceUK thanks for your answer, i suspect that the gearbox its not sold to the general public?
Sounds like a RSV4 being run in in the back ground?

A True "SUPERBIKE" that needs a real rider.

Yeah WSBK factory system mate
If you keep touching it you'll go blind my mum said

I bet even with all of these trick parts that Brad would be able to put the same laptimes in on a stock M1
I bet he won’t, the bikes are night & day different.
