Did The MC Really Hear The Voice Of Monsters? | Honkai Star Rail Lore

  • During one of the companion quests in honkai star rail the main character (MC) accompanied serval into the underworld. There they confronted by a fragmentum monster and for some weird reason the MC could understand the monster. Both Gepard and Serval could only hear shrieks but the MC could somehow hear the voice of the monsters
    This is a rather odd occurance as this reveal was never talked about again but perhaps there is a reason to this. Perhaps the MC could understand these monsters due to the stellaron in them or perhaps it was just a one off thing. Whatever that may be the fact that the MC can understand and hear the voices of these monsters might be a reveal in the future
    Some part of this video comes from the actual lore while others may be speculation on my part as we currently do not know the full story. As such take it with a grain of salt as the point of this video is just a deeper dive into Honkai Star Rail lore.

    Fragmentums are created by Stellarons so it would make sense why a vessel for a stellaron could understand a fragmentum's creatures.

    This kind of happened twice, the first instance is with Cocolia but there's actually a second instance and that's when you get a quest line called Vessel of Mediocrity. You'll find a little girl in Backwater Pass and you'll have to solve a box puzzle, she'll disappear but then reappears but she's older, you'll solve another box puzzle again and then she disappears again. Eventually you'll see her again where you had the final battle with Cocolia but this time she's a fragmantum monster, the same kind as Cocolia. She'll ask you to solve another puzzle, then she asks you to end her.
    Unlike Cocolia her dialogue is much clearer and she interacts with you like a normal person, it was a pretty interesting quest and it made me wonder if this was just another ability of there's. I really hope this gets explained more in the future.
    (I didn't want to spoil the quest too much so I left a few things out)

      I've done the first part of this but got distracted and didnt finish it through, but it does seem that it has something to do with how the fragmentum is rewriting memories or something in order to create these "monsters". It might be that certain people or memories are able to overcome the reprogramming the fragmentum causes

      There's also a third situation where something like this happens in the game. In a completely optional sidequest in the Loufu (I cannot remember the full name of the area you go to after the planet Belebog is on) where you need to solve a dial puzzle, but one that you do multiple times there, among the various things that can happen of what is brought over, one of those deliveries holding chests, has two Mara-struck people hiding in the storage for that delivery, and the protag is able to understand what they are saying. To make distinction between them different, the Trailblazer mentally assigns names to those two Mara-struck enemies. I'd give more details on that, but I'm not very familiar with many things in Star Rail, and forget many things about it.

      Sorry, I misremembered details, I forgot Mara-struck can speak normally, which is odd I forgot, considered the massive amount of them I've fought and killed. I could've deleted any traces of my error here, but I'd rather be honest and confess that I made a mistake.

      there were clear explonation that before it was a gardian,same as cocolia and bronya. There even text that said solders saw dead bodies starts to walk in fragmentum. It is also explain why Cocolia waste so much manpower in fragmentum, not only to weaken guards army but also to make her own army.

    It's interesting because this type of enemy talks in battle too, but now I'm wondering if we can only hear that because we're the MC and other characters would just hear shrieking

    I'm personally not fully convinced that Nanook created the Stellarons, the description for them says 'It's believed that Nanook the Aeon of Destruction is behind the appearance of the Stellarons', but this is just because the Antimatter Legion and Stellarons appear together, it's entirely possible that the Nanook is collecting Stellarons himself, and knows when they're going to appear. Another reason I don't think the Stellarons are created by Nanook is the effects they have on the planets. On Jarilo-VI, the Stellaron freezes everything preserving everything in ice (as well as preserving the memories of the Guardians and those who die in the Fragmentum). On the Luofu it revives the Ambrosial Arbor, a tree that was killed by Lan, through the power of the Abundance.
    If Nanook made the stellarons, they would have to follow the path of destruction as Aeons can not do anything that would deviate from their Path. I think it's more likely that the Stellarons are like phylacteries for an Aeon and are made of pure Imaginary energy, if they're destroyed the aeon dies.

    • @Maevix3142
      @Maevix3142  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I don't think its explicitly mentioned either that nanook is responsble for creating them but the assumption I think was because it was said somewhere that he spread them though i might be misremembering. I have seen a few people mention that the stellarons are just the souls or something for dead aeons so that theory is something ive thought about as well. Plus thes stellaron do have some weird wish granting mechanism like with belobog so what exactly their purpose is kinda curious
      Im also curious about why stellarons also end up creating fragmentums wherever they go so suffice to say theres a lot of mystery around them atm

    I have a question: Why the MC must be create to complete Elio's plan? What is his plan?

    • @A207.
      @A207. ปีที่แล้ว +36

      It can be seen when we choose to not join the astral express
      Without the mc, the downfall of the astral express is doomed to happen
      Whatever Elio had foreseen, the Mc is the key to what will happen in the future
      He either saw the future with and without the mc and chose to recreate what will happen with the mc

    • @Maevix3142
      @Maevix3142  ปีที่แล้ว +21

      As @Anthony mentioned, it might be that the MC is really just a catalyst. An outside variable that allows whatever future he wants to be achievable. Maybe without the MC it just doesnt happen naturally no matter what the hunters do

    Serval quest is not the only one. There is box side quest puzzle involving another previous guardian if not mistaken cyril rand who is also converted into monster. MC talk with her normally. The same with bloodborn reference event. Both sistet is already corrupted. As gepard mention in flashback. Ppl who died in corruption area is somehow still there absirbed by the crystal.

      @Maevix3142  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep at the time i made this video i had only finished one part of the box quest but yes it also referenced talking fragmentum beings. If i recall correctly, the fragmentum can take the memories of those in the surrounding area and recreate mutated versions so my current headcanon is that its kinda like the irminsul in genshin where the monsters we see are just corrupted memories given physical forms

    • @RePhantomz
      @RePhantomz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Maevix3142there is 2 case of corruption as far as the lore goes:
      1st is gradual corruption while the victim is alive. You can see this case on fight club combantant who wears fragmentum monster armor, Natasha brother victim (as his miracke med is using corruption to trigger pseudo freeze resistance to the host) and several of natasha patient.
      2nd case is someone who died in the area where fragmentum exist will be absirbed and might manifest as monster or echo as shown in gepard and serval side quest and bloodborn sisters
