This tune brings back so many memories because my mum died recently and she gave this keyboard which belonged to her as a child. I’d always play this tune and it’s so nostalgic and I’ve recently discovered the name of the song.
OMG, it's like I found a little bit of my soul in a TH-cam video. This was my first keyboard. The irony is that the song that it uses as the demonstration, "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel, was released in the year of my birth, 1977.
The song should be called "Can't Turn Back Time." It's as though the song creator could see decades into the future and capture the nostalgic emotions from the past.
i have this keyboard in my room, this was my dad's keyboard and he gave it to me. i'm so happy and this is my jam everytime i clean my room since i was a kid and up to this day 😂
My grandma (RIP) got me this keyboard for Christmas when I was 6. I still have it in my garage and will never sell it. This demo song reminds me of my carefree days when all I had to worry about was homework.
Reminds me of when I was a kid, visiting relatives in Korea back in 1998. Didn't have too much to do at the house but my aunt had this same keyboard. I'd play with it every afternoon and loved hearing the demo song.
Happiest keyboard with saddest demo song gave the scariest nightmare to me as a kiddie; in that dream my mom drowned to that tune. I hated that song for so long after that!
My grandmother bought this for church functions back in the late 80s. Somehow it came to live at my house in the 90s. This demo song is like a part of my soul hahaha.
when i was a kid one of these was in the house but nobody new how to play it, there were no learning materials and no internet. Eventually the age of the C battery fell off and my parents werent running out to get Cs just for this thing, and we werent interested enough to beg them to. Could never find a dc adapter that worked for in the house and one day when my little sister was watching something dumb on tv that she thought was super exciting she started jumping up and down but slipped and landed ass flat on the keys breaking a couple off. that was the final nail in the coffin for this sweet prince. fast forward 20 years and I was trying to remember the model number, and when i saw the image and heard the demo there's no doubt in my mind this was the guy right here. props to yamaha for making affordable armature keyboards, then and now.
Thank you so much for posting this. This is a great childhood memory as we had one in our home and we loved this Demo song. So much so that I sing this little tune to a loved one using a nickname. So much fun 😀😍🎉💕😀👌 👏🏽 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow... I remember my grandparents had one of these. I didn't know how to play it, so I just made a lot of weird noises with it. But I remember loving the Demo song. This is hitting a lot of old memories, ahhhhhhh....
Omg this brings be back my parents got me this when I was 5💕💕💕!! I’m so glad u played this it’s been stuck in my head and I have no idea the song but this put me in a happy place thank you
We might give the author some credit. The song is a cover of Billy Joel's "Just the way you are" from 1977. This version was programmed by employed Yamaha engineers.
Found this video when I was looking to see if this was worth anything 36 years later. Well, what it lacks in monetary value, I couldn't put a price on the memories it brings back :)
The memories ... the memories ❤. Not the exact demo my family's Yamaha had since we owned a different model I believe released the same year but so close. That keyboard is why I prize the one I own nowadays.
This is random but sometimes when I 🍄 trip I hear the “ghost” sound in my head. It’s been over 30 years since I’ve heard it but it still… haunts me. That’s why my search for it brought me here. Thanks.
This was passed onto my older cousin, which was then passed onto my younger brother when he started taking keyboard lessons. Now it' sitting in his room collecting dust. Untill I came in and took it out because I now want to learn the keyboard. There are stickers on some of the keys telling you which notes are what, but they are yellow and faded now so you can't actually read most of them. I think that they were put on this before I was even born.
This was the first keyboard I had as a kid, little did I know the demo song on this was written and sung by the man who would eventually inspire to learn to play the piano properly
Would like to learn how to play the keyboard at all possible I am 80 years old but I like my music thank you can I get a manual for this keyboard it’s a PSS Yamaha 27 thank you
I had the same keyboard, I remember when I asked my dad to buy me it at Costco and HE DID! The irony is that I didn't know how to play a piano lol!! At one time I used to made up and recorded my own songs.
I have this keyboard it's having problems though any overly bassy sound (in drums or in keys - ex 26 - tuba) it makes a really chaotic sound making the song impossible to play. Dunno what to do the batteries haven't been replaced in a long time though, maybe I'll try that.
I picked one of those up in a charity shop back in 2010 but changed my mind and took it back at the last minute ( after also realizing one of the keys didn't work ). Maybe I might buy another one someday or get one if I find another one in a charity shop. But I do also have a PSS-470 which sounds similar, I wonder if this one uses the same FM synth chip?
Hello...I had one just like that, mucha nostalgia!!so I want to get the original loop of the Yamaha pss270, especially the AUTO BASS CHORD loop, of the 8beat, disco and march. , at 95 bpm. And that the loop is recorded in the entire section of the original automatic accompaniment of the keyboard... that is, record a wav strip of 2,526 seconds, from the C record to the F# of the accompaniment, to create a loop in kontakt... greetings
This tune brings back so many memories because my mum died recently and she gave this keyboard which belonged to her as a child. I’d always play this tune and it’s so nostalgic and I’ve recently discovered the name of the song.
Hearing this for the first time in over 36 years... 🥲
I'm gonna cry!! It was my first keyboard!!

Same here, as well. This song is quite beautiful.
Me too!
me too! and i remember i used to play that song. that keyboard got me into music.

OMG, it's like I found a little bit of my soul in a TH-cam video.

ORLY? that's my birthday year too! what a coincidence
just so you know, that's not "irony"
Mine too 1977!!! 🤘🏻💪🏻
The song should be called "Can't Turn Back Time." It's as though the song creator could see decades into the future and capture the nostalgic emotions from the past.
That’s precisely how cool Billy Joel is
Im literally crying listening to it rn and I don’t know whyyyyy 😭🤣
its 2024 and its still a banger
I wonder who else listened to this and remembered 25 years ago. :(
As a kid I used to put this demo on all the time. Reminded me of my 16 bit videogames and it just sounded so cool

Yes the sounds of 1996 miss grandma we had some great times with this keyboard 😪💔
Con mucho sacrificio económico mi papá compró éste modelo en 1986, y definitivamente es un recuerdo muy valioso de mi adolescencia.

Oh wow. This just took me back to 1988 when I got this. My second keyboard. I even went on tv with it!
my dad got me one recently. I have been having a lot of fun with it and it was a great surprise to hear billy joel.
Quanta nostalgia meu Deus, o meu primeiro contato com um instrumento musical. 😍😭😭😭😭

My great uncle passed and i got his late daughter's keyboard, this one. I wasn't even a thought when this came out. I love it all the same ❤
The memories ... the memories ❤. Not the exact demo my family's Yamaha had since we owned a different model I believe released the same year but so close. That keyboard is why I prize the one I own nowadays.
I loved voice 89 "ghost" hahaha so funny!!!! Used to play this keyboard for hours on end as a kid!!!!
This was a big part of my childhood. Between my NES and Ninja Turtles my Yamaha was always there to play itself and remind me what it can do. 😝❤
Oh my goodness I have just been transported straight back to the late 80’s!!!
my first keyboard... nostalgia to the max
Sooooo many hours spent on this keyboard and a 4 track portastudio in my youth
I FOUND IT I FOUND JUST THE ONE I WAS LOOKING FOR THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Wish I'd kept it.

i got this keyboard from my grandparents 2006-2007. so nostalgic!
This was the first keyboard I had as a kid, little did I know the demo song on this was written and sung by the man who would eventually inspire to learn to play the piano properly
I just bought this keyboard today and accidentally turned the demo on, and just chilled out listening to it
Me trajo recuerdos cuando era niño mi juguetito

I finally found it!

Reminds me of a music lessons at school
My first keyboard....24 years ago..
Someone threw a very similar model (pss 170) out and I took it. A few keys were dead, but they were all in the high octave.
ummm i’m sitting in front of this keyboard right now
My brother had the PSS 170. Same demonstration song as this model.
Same keyboard only mono.
I have this keyboard it's having problems though any overly bassy sound (in drums or in keys - ex 26 - tuba) it makes a really chaotic sound making the song impossible to play. Dunno what to do the batteries haven't been replaced in a long time though, maybe I'll try that.

Thank you sooo much! I'm trying to figure out how many electronic keyboard has used pop songs as their demo songs.
I love this song so much, it’s such a banger to me, do you know the name?
I think it's the one that goes "I love you just the way you are"
